We went for Sunday lunch, it was good food and excellent. For starters we had olives and dips and a chicken pate, really great quality ingredients and plating. The main roast was fine with exceptional cauliflower cheese.

We stumbled across this place purely by chance online, it looked lovely and I must say it did not disappoint. Food was great, the Chocolate Brownie is absolute heaven! Our outside table was amazing, service was great, and it was just lovely to be out enjoying some food and a glass of wine whilst the baby was at home with a sitter. Would highly recommend, what a lovely little find with great views!

The Old Thatched Cottage is an amazing restaurant. We were lucky enough to have a table outside with a firepit, it was wonderfully warm and cosy. The staff were really friendly and helpful, The food was outstanding and extremely good value for money. We would definitely go back there again.

Really lovely Pre-Theatre meal, although it did take quite a while to turn up. The poor waitress was on her own. Chicken and Halloumi Souvlaki is definitely recommended.

Very welcoming from the point of phoning up to change an aspect to our visit to the reception at the doors and the meal itself, all staff were helpful and polite. Wonderful food! Reall great outside on a rainy evening by the fire pit - highly recommended.

Service was very slow with no one really paying attention to their guests - we waited 50 minutes for our food and there was no apology when we pointed out how long we had waited. This appeared to be the case across the restaurant with at least 2 other tables needing to chase up their orders. When the food arrived, there was very little veg (2 roast potatoes, a slither of carrot and parsnip but an enormous bowl of peas) and the roast beef was mainly inedible due to it being completely over-cooked and as tough as leather. No one checked on us and we then had dirty plates in front of us for 15 minutes- again this was common across the restaurant. Didn't order dessert as didn't want to give them any more of our money. Poor value as the meat on the roast was mainly inedible and there were few vegetables, plus we were charged for bottles of cider but they brought cans. The restaurant itself is in a lovely old building but has no ambience or character inside which was disappointing, the table was sticky (I saw them have to clean down another table after seating guests on it) and there was dropped food all over the floor. A negative experience overall.

You are the second customer to advise there was an issue with service, so we must of had a problem yesterday for which we wholeheartedly apologise. We booked and were quickly shown our table & given a menu and then 15 mins later still no sign of anyone and then some new people arrived and the waitress took their drinks order and disappeared inside. We left, went somewhere else and had a drink in 5mins and food in twenty. Absolutely appalling customer service.

Sunday lunch - starter of prawn cocktail was good - and not served straight from the fridge - so had more flavour. Main course - roast lamb - very good, served hot, generous portion and extra gravy on request. Too full for a pud unfortunately. Carafe of Malbec was good too. Service excellent - very attentive. Would def come again.

When we arrived several tables outside were occupied but inside was empty, however it was turning cold so we stayed inside, others came in shortly later though it was still quite quiet. Food and service as my last visit were both excellent really enjoyed the meal
