Bistro type food and good service in a lively part of town.

Great as usual!! Despite the draconian sanctions imposed on hospitality industry the guys at OB continue to remain one of the highlights of Broughton St. Thank you for keeping the doors open!!

Delicious eggs benedict on bacon with haggis on a Rosti potato base - outstanding !

Avoid, there are far superior places to dine and enjoy and evening.

The menu seems to have changed and the lunch menu is totally overpriced.
A wrap served with chips was £14+ and a lot if the lunch plates were £17+.
Have gone to this restaurant for lunch/brunch before so didn't check menu before reserving a table, very disappointed.

Amazing last supper befire the Covid restrictions circuit breaker lockdown. The staff team do everything to keep customers safe. Really feel for the hospitality industry as they have done their very best to keep things going at the Olive Branch . Looking forward to returning .

The food was perfect. Really enjoyed coming here for a nice dinner.

Absolute amazing food, service excellent - we had to wait for our table and were given a glass of prosecco to apologise. 100% would come back when I'm next back in Edinburgh.

Lovely food. Great to be able to see the kitchen staff from our table. Tables well spaced apart. Quite cold as door was being kept open presumably to keep aerated due to COVID. Recommend.

Really nice food and restaurant. However we were kept waiting for 45 minutes for our table and the although the staff were nice we were not even given complimentary coffees or drinks. This also resulted in us being the last table in the restaurant and we felt like we had to leave before we were ready to.

Olive branch is one of my favourite resturants in Edinburgh im never disappointed. They made sure that everthing was clean and safe due to covid and were understanding about my friends and I's excitement regarding being in a resturant again!!

Food was great and fresh, wine was delicious. Ambience and staff was lovely.

Lovely relaxed lunch at The Olive Branch. Staff are so great and always happy to help. Never feel rushed and food is always really good. (Nice choices for vegetarians too). We’ll be back.

I’m a regular at the Olive Branch. The food is not fancy but is very good. Best burgers in town I’d say too. They have always had good staff and great service.

Nice, casual restaurant. Ideal for a Pre-theatre meal for the Playhouse Edinburgh.

I needed somewhere to meet my sister after she finished playing an afternoon concert in the Usher Hall. So it was an awkward time and, being 2 January, many restaurants were still closed. The Olive Branch came up trumps - we arrived just before 5pm and had a very good early supper. Food was excellent, wine choices also good and in a variety of measures. Staff friendly and obliging - we were not rushed but neither did we have to wait too long for our courses to arrive. I couldn’t fault it.

Friendly local place with delicious creative menu. Salad with haloumi and pomegranate was fantastic. Many dishes available as either small or large plates encourages sampling and sharing.

One major detractor was the coffee station directly behind my husband's head. The terrific noise from the coffee grinder caused him some distress and a lasting headache unfortunately.

Otherwise, lovely neighborhood spot we will definitely return to (but will request a seat farther from the coffee!)

We stated in advance that one member of the party had an onion intolerance but there was a very poor response and no innovation in support of this diner. In addition there was a reaction to onion present in the supposedly onion free food so we would not return to this venue. The standard of the food was acceptable overall and service friendly and prompt but the bistro was cold and we sat with coats on in the seats by the window.

A very cosy atmosphere on a cold evening. Attentive but unobtrusive staff serving a good range of hearty food. Loved the scallops and black pudding! Nice and buzzy but not too noisy. Well recommended.
