Outstanding food and service perfect evening. Hannah you made our evening, David perfect front of house.
Fabulous evening. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Was pleased to hear the staff ask very early on if we had allergies or intolerances.
In terms of food, the seafood rarebit and the parfait were incredible, as was the cod, the halibut, and the steak. The team were very helpful with wine choices, and great at recommending dishes. Extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu.
The cheeseboard was divine, and they do a mean Old Fashioned!
Highly recommend making the journey there. Wonderful
We knew we would be in for a treat but the visit to The Oxford Blue surpassed all expectations. The food was superb but the front of house service was truly outstanding.
A brilliant spot for lunch - the food and service was fantastic and the atmosphere was spot on.
Great food extensive cheese board attentive service not rushed even though we had a very late booking
Excellent food, explained and served beautifully. It won't be long before this restaurant gains a Michelin star. There are unique cocktails and wonderful starters, including pig trotters and a shell with seafood including lobster with grated, bubbling gruyere. Particularly yummy are the game dishes, especially red deer from the gamekeeper at Windsor Great Park. The desserts are 'works of art' prepared by their pastry chef. The food here is special and deserves to be lingered over and enjoyed. Service is exceptional. The mallard (dish for two) shown in the photo was also delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you Oxford Blue for a memorable evening.
Amazing restaurant, delicious food and exemplary service.
Excellent food and excellent service. Pricey but worth it for special occasions
They seem to be putting a lot of effort into making the food look instagrammable, which in this restaurant’s case translates as style over content. A nice enough place with decent food that will keep the smug, local clientele happy - but could they could do with a bit more skill in the kitchen.
Overall everyone was attentive. Atmosphere was great. Restaurant is always clean.
A fantastic experience.
The food including an amazing pork pie starter and gorgeous beef wellington was first class as was the service with our girl from Sheffield on top of everything.
It was also exceptionally good value.
We were recommended to dine at The Oxford Blue by another of our favourite restaurants , The Beehive in White Waltham , and were not disappointed. We will definitely add it as a regular Sunday Lunch venue and give it a try one evening.
The Oxford Blue is a favourite for us and we dine here regularly. Overall our lunch was another enjoyable experience; service excellent and a nice relaxed ambience. Our meals this time were good but not quite up to the normal standard; the salmon scotch egg a little bland (too much potato), the texture of the deer disappointing and all mains missing a rich and meaty sauce. However, all diners enjoyed their dishes and we left feeling very full and well looked after!
Great food & the staff were exceptional even at busy times!
What a wonderful experience!! I cannot find the words to express what an amazing time my friend and I had at this beautiful restaurant.
A real find - tucked away in Old Windsor but delivering outstanding food and service worth travelling for!
There is nothing to fault here; the service is impeccable, the food is amazing and there is always a great atmosphere. It’s our favourite restaurant for all of these reasons.
I have said that I would recommend this restaurant to friends based on my first experience.
This was my second visit to this restaurant. I decided to go with friends for my birthday. The first time I came with friends, I found that although very expensive, the food was really good, the service excellent and I liked the atmosphere, so all in all worth it for a special occasion which is why I recommended the restaurant to other friends.
However, this time, I ordered the exact same food and was really disappointed. The starter (seafood) was nowhere near as good as it had been previously and although the main meal (Halibut) was fairly good, the dish was so small that I remained hungry (as a small person this rarely happens). My colleagues really enjoyed their steak for their mains, but one of them did not think the mushroom tart starter was very good. At approx. £90.00 per person, I expected, like previously, to be happy with the cost as the food was so good. Unfortunately, this was not the case this time and I was a little embarrassed as I recommended this restaurant.
I have to say, it was only the food that I was disappointed with. The service and staff are excellent and couldnt do anymore for you.
I am hoping that this was just an 'off' night, and will reserve judgement until I visit again when invited by friends.
Was looking for a venue that gave that little extra, The Oxford Blue delivered in bundles. The staff were friendly, professional and attentive. The menu was varied and the specials mouthwatering. We could only eat the main as the addition of an amused bouche, and bread was sufficient for the evening. We looked at the desert menu and although was plenty to tempt us, we just had to turn them down. My main was from the special game menu, choosing Pan Roasted Partridge spelt Risotto – Confit Leg – Crab Apple, was so tasty with great depth of flavour.
Lovely Sunday lunch with grown up children fantastic food...
Really disappointed. Had been before and had a great time but this time it was poor.
Service was exemplary, and the starters and deserts were great. However, we had to send our main course back; and various elements were over seasoned. In fairness the cost of the main was removed from the bill. We also allowed ourselves to be "upsold" to a more expensive bottle of wine; whilst it was good it wasn't good enough to justify the price.
Sadly, doubt we will go back.
The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. Very attentive, good service and beautiful food. Maybe a little too rich overall, but we really enjoyed it all.
Relaxing and an unhurried lunch. The food as always was superb. I find it hard to find fault with this restaurant.
The staff were very attentive and very well informed on both the food and the wine.
Interior very nice.
Fantastic food and attentive service. Will be returning.
Perfect in every way
Staff are amazing
Food is divine
Amazing experience at the Oxford Blue yet again, truly wonderful food using local and seasonal produce, great wine list and the service was attentive but not intrusive , can’t wait fir my next visit .
Our booking was without any prior knowledge of the restaurant as we were just looking for somewhere in the area.
It transpires our choice was inspired. From walking in to walking out, everything was spot on and even though we’re not local we shall look for an excuse to return.
A great venue run by a great team and the food’s not bad either.
Thank you for helping to make our day complete.
It is a great place if you want something special. Great service, beautiful food and attention to details make this place really stand out. I would love to come again!
Utterly fabulous as always. Great team and service and exquisite food!
We have dined at Oxford Blue on several occasions and it does not disappoint in terms of quality of food, wonderful staff who are friendly, professional and totally charming. However, whilst it is a nice treat to dine there the cost is extremely High End London Prices and for that reason, not necessarily good value for money and somewhat prohibitive to dine there on a more regular basis.
Amazing restaurant with an interesting seasonal menu presented very well indeed. Staff attentive without being overly so. Lovely atmosphere, great for any occasion. Surely soon be up for Michelin stars.
Great food and atmosphere for a long Sunday lunch celebrating a family 70th birthday. Daniel, Andrew and the team worked very hard and everything went according to plan - and they even sang ! Unfortunately the ending fell off a bit though as the next group arrived for our table suddenly & were waiting right next to us.
We had a very special evening. The service care and attention were very good, as you’d expect in a very classy restaurant. There is a great game menu that you shouldn’t ignore- something very elegant in all other choices. It is clear that the Oxford Blue is passionate about food and customer service. What more could you ask. We had a celebration for an engagement - we were delighted to have this recognised even though not organised anything in advance. Thank you to the whole Team’s care and attention.
Wonderful flavoursome food, friendly ambience, a wonderful treat for lunch a few minutes into the countryside near Windsor.
Loved everything about it! One of the very best places we visited while out in the countryside.
Great place! Staff were superb as was the food; it’s the perfect mix of modern gastro pub menu and fine dining quality food, would thoroughly recommend.
I booked the last table available at Oxford Blue for 5 for a get together with friends and am so happy that I did. The location is lovely and the building beautifully refurbished with quirky interior decor and fantastic outside terrace / seating.
The staff were fabulous from start to finish and the food was exceptional. Given the quality and service level you would expect the prices to be more but again, the value for money was outstanding.
An amazing night with friends who have eaten in superb restaurants all over the world and would definitely come back! A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE OXFORD BLUE :)
My husband and I had dinner in The Oxford Blue a week ago to celebrate his birthday, and we had a wonderful evening. The whole experience was amazing. We would certainly go back again, the only trouble is that it’s so popular, it’s difficult to get in!
Our second time at the Oxford Blue and this visit was even better than the first! Service is great and you feel very looked after even when busy. Food is amazing, refined but still hearty. In particular the mushroom tart and halibut with beef shin were fantastic but everyone at the table enjoyed their meals. It is on the pricey side for a “pub” but it is a gastro treat and well worth the price.
Seasonal cocktails also well though out and delicious. Perfect for any special occasion and a real treat.
Food brilliant and inventive. Excellent service and very accommodating regarding the time of the booking. Overall outstanding. Every bit as good as Tom Kerridge
