About The Oxford Blue
The Oxford Blue dates back to the 1800’s. Originally two game keepers cottages, it was then converted into a traditional Inn and has served the local community ever since, in a number of different guises.
Acquired in 2015 by Chef Proprietor, Steven Ellis, the property has undergone a magnificent transformation marrying the finest elements of tradition with modern practicalities and comfort.
Our dishes are based upon tradition and comfort, yet presented with a modern twist. We are working with some of the United Kingdom’s most established suppliers to ensure that we use only the highest quality ingredients.

The Oxford Blue Ratings and Reviews
Great food and ambience, but with most places the service will make or break a venue. Glad to say the service was first class, on the side of going above and beyond. I tend to measure attentiveness of a service by how long it takes for someone to refill your glass of water... only The Oxford Blue and Duck & Waffle have managed to keep my glass full throughout the entire meal. Seriously, I could not finish my glass and have it empty for more than 5 seconds!
Impeccable service, Daniel and his team are warm, friendly and passionate. They make you feel special from the minute you walk through the door. The food is amazing and everyone can tell you anything you want to know about the menu. Great wine selection and locally sourced ingredients. Such a great find that you'll want to keep to yourself!
Thoroughly enjoyed lunch at the restaurant on Wednesday. Delightful staff, attentive but not intrusive. Good choice of food on set lunch time menu - food beautifully cooked and presented.
I have no hesitation in recommending this venue for lunch or evening meals.
Best dining experience ever, couldn't fault the service good choices on menu and many extra complimentary extras not cheap but well worth the extra. My only regret I didn't take any photos! Highly recommend especially for special occasions, will be going back.
We had a great time and found the food exceptional. We loved the little details, like being able to choose a steak knife. The staff were very friendly and we had a great chat to Davide. Overall we had a really enjoyable evening, and highly recommend visiting this fantastic restaurant.
The service is outstanding. Friendly, efficient and there never seemed to be a moment when there wasn't a waiter or waitress within a few feet. The attitude of everyone was great. Not too stuffy, but helpful, fun and informative. I'm amazed they can afford to employ so many people!
The food was mostly very good. Venison was highly featured on the menu as we are approaching Winter, some from Windsor Park. So full marks for local, seasonal ingredients. The Scotch Egg on the specials menu was excellent.
A very good wine list too. We started with two glasses of English Sparkling wine, and follow-up with two different glasses of Red. All were excellent.
We took our daughter and her friend following her starting university, what as simply exceptional experience, everything was perfection from the G&T to the salted caramel? The tea and the egg timer, the risotto in the pumpkin, the burgers, the plum crumble and the perfect service. We will definitely go again, thank you
Very attractive restaurant with enthusiastic staff who are passionate about their work. Good choice off food from set menu to A La Carte and all at reasonable prices. Service very smooth without rushing you. Presentation of food is excellent with portion sizes to match. Shown round the kitchen and gardens where they grow their own fruits and herbs. Let them know you are celebrating something and there is a little surprise.
This place is exceptional. Using food sources locally (including the Windsor royal estates) and complimenting this with an extensive quality wine list the only thing left would be to add good service - they go one better and add exceptional service. Cannot rate this highly enough - yes it's slightly more money but you're getting Michelin star quality food and very attentive, friendly, knowledgeable staff.
The staff at the Oxford Blue could not have been more helpful - we had booked the wrong day on online by mistake and they calmly sorted out a table for us, despite being fully booked! Our guests were also an hour late and this was also dealt with in a friendly manner, professionally and with humour.
The food was excellent and the service was superb.
We had a great lunch and would recommend this restaurant.
