Absolutely superb food/service highly recommend it!
Fabulous, exceptional food that reflects locality with an excellent selection of gluten free options. Attentive service. Just a little on the spendy side.
Booked for valentines - not a romantic or intimate setting. The tables are too close together. I was closer to another person than my wife.. the lighting was stark and 'Money for nothing' was playing, Felt a bit let down - they had a valentines menu but it was clearly not a valentines venue. The food was an eclectic a mix of excellent and not so good. Some of the basics, chips for example were 'ropey'. This was a very expensive meal but not very enjoyable and not worth the money. As always the greeting and service was excellent. Perhaps this is all about expectation - all said and done, this is just a pub with an expensive menu. Sad to say, this will be our last visit. Food is OK, not exceptional, ambiance so so.
Great friendly service, always beautiful and delicious food thanks for a great time
Loved it, very welcoming, immediately put at ease.
The service and food and ambience were first class!
Outstanding food and every detail was taken care of with class. The waiting staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable.
A Michelin-starred experience, thank you!
Right from entering we were made to feel welcome. Was there for Sunday Lunch. Service and staff are wonderful, professional. Food was well presented. Though felt the Beef in the Beef Wllington was over power by the mushroom and pastry. Individually very nice. Pork chop had loads of flavour. Very well presented. Enjoyed lunch. And yes will be going back.
Treated by our children for our birthdays and probably wouldn't have considered this venue. Our daughter went with her friend and were suitably impressed. I would have no hesitation in suggesting The Oxford Blue to anyone looking for a special evening with marvellous food and great service coupled with a good selection of wines.
Best meal out in a long time. Food & service were outstanding, staff very knowledgeable of the menu. Fantastic amuse bouche, bread & after dinner treat alongside what you order. It’s not cheap but is a fabulous treat.
Excellent service and food.
Good local meat options from Windsor park.
Their butter is exceptional, having worked in the food industry for over 20 years, mainly in dairy this is high praise.
The food was superb. Two of our party were vegetarian. The vegetarians had to fight off the carnivores from their amuse bouche because they were so good. Not much choice for vegetarians. Just one starter option and one main course option which means a vegetarian would not pay a return visit unless they were happy to have the same meal.
Waiting staff are lovely, however the service was extremely slow on a Thursday lunchtime. We arrived at 12:15 and left at 3:30, forgoing coffee because we didn’t want to wait any longer.
Absolutely loved this restaurant. Food and Service were excellent with little added surprise extras which made this a great experience. Would highly recommend.
Food And service was great. Staff very patient helpful And polite. Will def go back...
Great evening.. Service, food and ambience fantastic! Looking forward to another visit! ;)
Wonderful lunch with friends; lovely food and excellent service.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would definitely recommend (in fact, we already have, to anyone who’s listening!)
Wonderful food and service could not have wished for more
There is always a warm welcome from the staff at Oxford Blue.Steven is an imaginative chef who uses locally grown and reared produce which is beautifully presented and bursting with flavour .A special mention for the delicious deer and cod dishes.
We were celebrating a friends birthday and had requested a plate piped with birthday wishes which also included a lovely chocolate addition.
Thank you for a wonderful evening and your attention to detail.
Unbelievable! Could be best meal we've ever had. Well, honestly, my steak wasn't all that great, but everything else was AMAZING. Can't speak highly enough. Who knew this little tucked-away place could be so good? No wonder it's Michelin rated! Cannot understand why my photos aren't loading (I even resaved as smaller file), you'd have appreciated them. Shout out to Gary at Union Inn for letting us know about it.
3rd time going, was a little off I felt... putting it down to Christmas period hangover
Love this place though x
We went for dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left we felt extremely well looked after with attentive but not intrusive service. The food was just heavenly...what I particularly liked was that when a menu says 'confit orange' it really is confit orange and not just thin slices of orange in juice and the beer fat chips really are...well just that and delicious to boot. We had 3 courses and polished off each one. Just a lovely experience and a real treat.
Fantastic food, excellent attention to detail by all staff . Can’t wait to return
The Oxford Blue is simply amazing! The food and staff are amazing. Wonderful place!
It is always a treat to dine at Oxford Blue, which unfortunately is a victim of its own success as it is more and more difficult to get a table! As always, the food was absolutely delicious, the service extremely attentive and friendly and it was a perfect way to celebrate a Birthday. We look forward to our next meal
there and happily recommend it to anyone who wants a lovely evening.
I love this place apart from the noise. I have been many times and every time I go I always seem to comment on the noise. Just one loud person ( with a loud laugh) can ruin it for the entire restaurant.
Perhaps invest in some noise reduction such as :
ABSORBING EXCESSIVE NOISE
The application of acoustic ceiling tiles and reverb wall panels absorbs the sound energy reducing unwanted, reflected sound from surfaces such as glass and concrete and enhances speech clarity.
BLOCKING EMERGING SOUNDS
The use of barrier products like partitions, screens and cabinets block sounds from travelling across an office workplace. For some areas a Reverb Screen which has an extra dense core and absorbent outer surface will soak up the sound even more
I took my wife for lunch to celebrate Christmas. This is the 3rd time we have been to the Oxford Blue and have never been disappointed with the quality of food or service which have both been extremely consistent. All the front of house staff are always very welcoming and professional. We have definitely found our new go to restaurant when we want to treat ourselves.
Great evening meal. Food was excellent and service was attentive but relaxed. Lovely ambience in the restaurant. The Venison Bonbons and the Great Park Deer were fantastic. Unfortunately didn’t have space to try the desserts! Would definitely like to come back.
The beer was good from then onwards it went downhill.
Came here for our Anniversary and had an amazing evening, from the first very warm greeting at the door everything was perfect - professional and attentive yet not overbearing service, beautifully prepared innovative food, quality wine list - we will definitely return!
We were put at the back in the section near the kitchen, which lacked atmosphere compared to the main pub and was also quite chilly probably due to a breeze from the french patio doors and the kitchen door constantly swinging open and closed. Having seen option of Christmas meal one of us decided on that only to then be told on ordering that both the people on the table had to choose that - no idea why as it isnt like it’s a dish only cooked for two. Frustrating as it wasnt mentioned when we got the menus. Both went a la carte as a result. Food itself was tasty but the main courses were both only warm at best and went cold quickly, as did the plates, so we ended up eating faster than you’d like to. Offered coffee for free by way of apology, which was a nice touch but we’d both have preferred the mains to have been hot instead. Overall the table siting, menu mixup and cool food meant for the first time the visit was slightly disappointing especially when you consider the £200 bill...
Outstanding food and service perfect evening. Hannah you made our evening, David perfect front of house.
Fabulous evening. Staff were very attentive without being intrusive. Was pleased to hear the staff ask very early on if we had allergies or intolerances.
In terms of food, the seafood rarebit and the parfait were incredible, as was the cod, the halibut, and the steak. The team were very helpful with wine choices, and great at recommending dishes. Extremely knowledgeable about the entire menu.
The cheeseboard was divine, and they do a mean Old Fashioned!
Highly recommend making the journey there. Wonderful
We knew we would be in for a treat but the visit to The Oxford Blue surpassed all expectations. The food was superb but the front of house service was truly outstanding.
A brilliant spot for lunch - the food and service was fantastic and the atmosphere was spot on.
Great food extensive cheese board attentive service not rushed even though we had a very late booking
Excellent food, explained and served beautifully. It won't be long before this restaurant gains a Michelin star. There are unique cocktails and wonderful starters, including pig trotters and a shell with seafood including lobster with grated, bubbling gruyere. Particularly yummy are the game dishes, especially red deer from the gamekeeper at Windsor Great Park. The desserts are 'works of art' prepared by their pastry chef. The food here is special and deserves to be lingered over and enjoyed. Service is exceptional. The mallard (dish for two) shown in the photo was also delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you Oxford Blue for a memorable evening.
Amazing restaurant, delicious food and exemplary service.
Excellent food and excellent service. Pricey but worth it for special occasions
They seem to be putting a lot of effort into making the food look instagrammable, which in this restaurant’s case translates as style over content. A nice enough place with decent food that will keep the smug, local clientele happy - but could they could do with a bit more skill in the kitchen.
Overall everyone was attentive. Atmosphere was great. Restaurant is always clean.
