Great food...great bar staff and very reasonable .
Booked this as a much needed catch up and was overall a negative experience. The staffing levels appear to be short as struggled to get attention. Guidelines state customers should wear a face mask when stood, this was not the case, also all guest should be seated. The table next to us was suitable for 2 people yet had 7 people around it. 2 people were constantly bumping into us as it was that close. Staff noticed but failed to enforce the rules! We had such a long wait to get a waitress that when we came to order desserts at 19.55 we were told we couldn’t as the kitchen is closed it closes at 7, yet the webpage states food served until 8pm! We were very disappointed and feel we won’t be rushing to go out any time soon!
Food was good but my husband asked for fish chips and peas when all our meals arrived he just got chips and peas no fish. We spoke to staff who then went away only to bring a full meal of fish chips and peas but we had all finished our meals 😟
We enjoyed the quiz but maybe we should of had some kind of recognition about the meal issue o and he got ice in his coke when he asked for no ice 😂
Fantastic food, lovely atmosphere and both of us liked the fact they support space for autism.
Lovely night out, once the football finished was music time. Just nice to have somewhere close to home that friends can meet up knowing that it’s a safe place to go
Staff were lovely and the pack horse is really nice inside but the food was a major let down it want not fully prepared in the pub you could tell the main was microwaved and the chips were cooked from frozen not good really
Lovely food, great service and socially distanced to a tee!
lovely food and friendly service, good prices and plenty of choice 😋
Had a really lovely family meal food was really good at reasonable price
Ended up walking out. 1st time back after lockdown for lunch. Walked in to an empty bottle of sanitizer by the door. Waited at the bar to enquire where they'd like us to sit to be greeted by a lad who said sit where you like- OK. I asked how the ordering system worked and if he'd like me to return to the bar or if it was table service only. His snappy reply took me by surprise (esp as there were only 2 small tables in and I was merely enquiring) "you'll have to order at the bar as were short staffed and I can't do it all!"
Anyway we looked at the menu (which wasn't disposable as stated online). There was very little to entice a gluten intolerance now (even the salad is a no go) and the kids menu no longer contains anything other than 'fast food' no sausage and mash/spag bol type food. I also checked the allergy scan app on the table which returned a blank page- very helpful!
When I turned to return to the bar for drinks the 'really busy' bar tender was slumped leaning back on his phone. At this point myself and my daughter got our coats and left.
I'd hoped the family friendly feel of 'The Pack' would continue under new management but if this experience is the 'new normal' there are 3 other locals that do better.
Food was sub standard. Chicken was very salty, chip portions were very small (8 chips) and the pie had very little steak.
Lunch of Steak and Ale Pie, Beefburger ! Both arrived HOT ! good sevice , just a shame that children in pub kept wandering around !!
This was described as a gastro pub which is why we booked it. Whilst the pub is by no means a gastro pub it does serve perfectly good pub grub. We were disappointed at first but in the end there was absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pub was clean and the food was good pub food at a very reasonable price.
Food has gone down Hill alot wont be eating there again
Lovely food and brilliant service. Coming again next week x😊
Great relaxed place to go with family or lively atmosphere with your mates
Enjoyed our food this time round was really good and will be going back soon
Love pac horse pub but this time round the food wasn't as good as it was before lock down
First time in lockdown . Booked table , had to go to bar to order food and drink , social distancing wasn’t great but sat on table out the way . Food was pretty good as was the beer . Although quite expensive. Plenty of outdoor seating though and seemed pretty clean
Very friendly staff and the food was served well and quickly even though it was busy
Can’t fault this place. Great foods, great atmosphere! Coming back soon! :)
Good selection of drinks.
Love our local
