Tables were sticky. Little ambience....................................
Went to the Paddock on Sunday afternoon with my wife and two kids. We all really enjoyed it. The service was excellent and the food was very very good, we will definitely be returning, exceptional value for money couldnt fault it
Had Sunday lunch, plenty of veg and choice of meats.Good value for money.Would advise mentioning if you are not a fan of gravy.Too much for me but my daughter satisfied.
It must have been because it was mother’s day, but the food wasn’t really on par this time. The veg soup was like dishwater, the onion rings like mush. The roast dinners came with gravy poured all over them, instead of in a jug. Also, the staff started to take the Mother’s dsy decorations down and clean whilst we where sat there! We could taste the spray cleaner they where using as it wafted over. Upset as I love the food here normally.
I have Heard good things about this place. So I and the misses went for a meal. And wow the service Was excellent they couldn’t do enough they kept checking if everything was ok and that if we need more drinks. Our starters came and this is not like any other place they was amazing it was fresh and the taste was unbelievable. And when we finished our starters they came to clear our Plates and asked was we ready for our mains. We didn’t wait long for our mains at all five mins if that and when to mains came the food looked and tasted amazing. And the peppercorn sauce was the best I have ever tasted. We will definitely be going back soon. Thank you to all the staff who made it a very delightful Experience. We will be seeing you again soon.
Service was excellent as usual
Food was amazing definitely be going back
Good food at reasonable prices. Have to remember it is a pub though and not a restaurant
Never been here before and have to admit was a bit wary of somewhere new but have to say was pleasantly surprised....needs a bit of an upgrade to décor but food made up for that... service was a little slow but there was one girl who stood out, nothing was too much trouble and was very efficient, clearing and cleaning table as soon as it was empty...the other girl I have to say left a lot to be desired, I've worked in hospitality industry for a long time and I would have hired one and sacked the other.
Will be going back because the food was delicious 😁😁😁😁
Excellent once again
Great place nicely decorated for valentines food and service very good we enjoyed
Not the best meal! It was my birthday and the food was awful! The salmon did not look like salmon and the potatoes looked like they had been reheated lots of times! Mind you when the meal came to the table it was luke warm! £100 wasted plus felt embarrassed to family members as I had built their hopes up that it would be a lovely meal!!!
Lovely Sunday lunch, great value, home cooked food. Staff where friendly and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Will be returning in the future without a doubt.
Well Mum and I travel out more or less every Sunday for lunch.
I browse the internet as usual for restaurants nearby and came across The Paddock read reviews on it and photos of food looked pretty good ,so we decided to travel to St Helens to this place looks nothing special from outside and the disabled entrance is via a narrow ramp only thing DISAPPOINTING very awkward if you have a wide wheelchair.
Entered the restaurant waited to be seated as we had booked the ,Lady came to us and then went to see where we were sitting so was kept waiting by the door for 10mins until the landlady had to tell her which table.
We sat down ordered starter
Breaded mushrooms and pate.
We absolutely loved it the really enjoyable.
Then came the mains, mine roast pork dinner ,mum had the chicken and beef strips in sauce.
Must say the Sunday roast is the best one I have ever had and plenty of it enough to feed two of you it was really tasty.
MUMS meal just the same plenty of meat and she really enjoyed.
Staff were friendly even the local s who spoke to us as we past the pub part to go back to car.
For all the travelling we do going different places will have to say this place is the best I have been to for the quality of the food
WILL DEFINATELY be coming back!
P.S Applesauce would of been nice with pork.
Excellent food, friendly, helpful and imformative service from Kimberly.
Booked table for Sunday lunch but when we arrived shown table then told no Sunday dinners left so we left
Ordered filet steak med rare but what I got was the driest piece of steak I’ve ever tasted. My partner had mixed grill and the steak on it was practically incinerated. He also asked for fries but didn’t get them. I left over half but was still expected to pay for food that was terrible. The website says that the chef has 27yrs experience... obviously not at cooking steak. And to top it off the card machine broke down when we were trying to pay. It’s a long time since we had food this awful and won’t be returning.
food was delicious & the staff were friendly. It was a large group but all got served at the same time. Would highly recommend
Family tea , went after Trip Advisor reviews
Starters nice - garlic mushrooms an black pudding stack
Steak for main very dry - asked for medium got well done , steak bland and hard to eat
Wont visit again
