The Park Bar & Restaurant at Ufford Park Woodbridge
Very quite in the restaurant, I guess that's due to covid restrictions. Food came out quick we weren't rushed which was good. Nice to relax and have a meal.
Really lively welcome staff, all working really hard to keep the place clean. Looks like it’s recently had a makeover too. Lovely views over the golf course.
Can’t wait to go back. All doing a really good job here, thanks.
We are so lucky to have the Ufford Hotel as our local place to go. We have had afternoon tea here several times and lots of meals all good!
We were playing the adventure golf and wanted informal dining so ate in the bar.
Good social distancing.
Think a lot of waiting staff were new as they were being trained by an excellent manager. I had to ask for a menu. Apart from that all good.
Gorgeous breakfast brunch bap.
enjoyed our meal but felt to choice was very small as i am not a fish eater this meant i only had a small choice
Beautiful food friendly staff social distancing really good.. overall experience was 5 stars
Lovely locally sourced food and quality ingredients.
Maybe an additional vegetarian option would be good.
Very friendly staff.
Lots of delicious gluten free options, working well within COVID restrictions so felt safe.
We enjoyed our meal very much, it was plentiful, hot and arrived all together. All necessary Covid rules were observed. The restaurant staff were young and pleasant, however at one point all staff had their backs to us when we needed their attention. When we spoke with them they were helpful and friendly. Ultimately a good experience.
Food delicious, all 3 courses and staff very attentive. Would definitely recommend to family and friends if after a nice meal but not at a great expense. Couldn’t fault it.
Our visit to your bar and restaurant was good. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient and the food was delicious.
Quiet environment, helpful staff and good food xx
Nice food and good service, only minor niggle was the golfers getting louder the more beer they were drinking but nothing to spoil our enjoyment.
Eating anywhere during a pandemic is a different experience but the food was great
Lovely food and service .However I did not enjoy my experience at the restaurant thanks to the large amount of male Golfers that generally could not have a conversation with their golfing friends without using the F word. Incredible noisy as well could hardly hear our own conversation. Whilst I appreciate this is a golf hotel I feel the couples or families should be sat away from the lads trips. Especially at the moment whilst 6 to a table ,they kept getting up or shouting across to other tables who were in their group.
Amazing service. Could see it getting a bit loud as the golfers coming in but our experience was excellent.
As a devoured vegetarian, i have to say, the chickpea burger wasn’t very nice, no flavour. Rest of the food was great!
Food was good- however we were informed on arrival that they had overbooked and was placed into a little side room that was very disappointing
Stayed at the hotel 2nights, a Friday and Saturday, and we ate in the restaurant both nights. The restaurant was busy both nights and the staff on duty worked very hard. Unfortunately there were delays in our wines arriving as there was not enough staff to cope with the numbers dining. However despite this there was a good choice on the menu and the food served was enjoyable. The staff were friendly and all was done to follow covid requirements.
I did not eat there, I checked in to stay for 2 days , and left within 30 mins.
The room was so standard for what they charge, no Fridge , or tea facilities yet they charge high prices.
I have stayed in better Travel lodge rooms.
We were a bit apprehensive about dining because of the events in the bar the previous evening, namely the loud and abusive group of golfers who had clearly had to much alcohol during the day and preceded to ruin ours and everyone elses evening, however the manager assured us it would be alright to dine and it was a very pleasant experience, the food was very nice and the deserts lovely. A special thanks to our waiter who was very attentive and curtious.
Everything went down well until some golfing guests kicked off in the bar. They were treated with respect by the bar staff but they all flagrantly broke the covid rules. My wife and I were sat in a shouting match that would have good in a western saloon bar. We eventually took our drinks to our room because the open shouting was dangerous in these times. We were sat between the barman who was trying to calm things and the lout.
Many guests witnessed their diatribe and an old couple were particularly upset.
Your barman should have followed through with the threat to call the police. Unfortunately he was not backed up by the manageress and the arguments continued.
My experience is that golf clubs encourage respect from thier golfers.
If things do not improve tonight I intend on complaining to the local licensing magistrate.
Covid regulations were followed well but this wasn't a very comfortable place in which to eat. Food was uninspiring. Service friendly but haphazard.
Given the challenging times Ufford went out of the way to make sure all COVID precautions were in place while still making the restaurant a fun, enjoyable experience.
Amazing food, attentive staff and nice surroundings.
My first visit here and unfortunately I don't think I will come again. The decor is outraged and there is no atmosphere. I had to ask more than once for someone to take the order even though we were in plain sight inside.
went for crab but sadly there was none so has to have salamon , it was ok , will call to check crab on menu for next visit
They were obviously very busy and several of the patrons were rather cross. However, our waitress (Shannon) was Superb. Calm, attentive despite being busy and gave us a clear picture of wait times etc. Food was wonderful and felt very well looked after.
My wife and I had a lovely meal at the Park Bar and Restaurant. We were really impressed by the Covid-19 safety measures taken. Everything was cleaned, staff wore face-coverings, menus were single-use, and there was plenty of distancing. Despite the difficult circumstances the staff managed to create a safe, relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The food was lovely (especially the smoked trout salad), and the service excellent. Well done!
Service was shocking if, no one appeared to be in charge, lack of acknowledgement when arrived, waited 15 mins to be seated.
No waitresses on floor, people complaining they had waited 40 mins for there bill, ordered drinks that didn’t arrive. Husband ordered steak and they didn’t inform us they had run out, generally poor, frustrated customers in all the restaurant - not a good experience. Will not return
I understand that it’s difficult to operate in the current climate and adhere to all the rules and regulations but so much could have been changed to make it better.
1. There were signs on the tables stating that it was table service but signs up saying to order at the bar, very confusing.
2. Only one person at the bar taking all drinks and food order which was ridiculous. I had to wait 20 mins to order and the guy in front of me only wanted a bottle of beer. People on the tables near me were also annoyed with this system.
3. Waited 50 mins for the food to arrive.
4. When it arrived it had literally been chucked on the plate. I ordered the steak which was normally £22.95 + £3.50 for peppercorn sauce. I came with eat out to help out and I was still not happy to pay £12.95 for it. Ordered it medium rare and it came well done and with lots of gristle. The only thing that stopped me from complaining there and then was the fact I had waited so long for it and I was starving.
5. When the food finally arrived we were sat staring at it for about 10 mins waiting for cutlery to come.
Overall it was a awful experience and I genuinely would never return. I’m really gutted because I live nearby and was excited to try here.
Poor hygiene controls considering the restrictions that should be in place. Colleagues got far too close to customers. Ketchup was shared between tables without being cleaned. Cutlery was handed to us not even wrapped in a serviette. There was an extremely long wait for food which we were not told about...we had a table booked for 12.30 and golf booked for 2pm but had still not had our food by then. When the food arrived it was wrong but couldn’t be bothered to complain as we had waited so long for it. A one way system was I place but not followed by those serving. Table was not wiped before we sat down. It’s the first time we’ve eaten out since lock down and it has put us off going out again. The only plus side was the bill as it was 50% off. A serious review needs to take place to keep customers and staff safe please!!
Beautiful meal. Approachable hardworking staff. Gorgeous weather, so we ate outside overlooking the grounds.
Expensive for what it is, not great deal to choose from. Not a great atmosphere.
We took advantage of the Eat In to Help Out offer for August. We were able to sit outside as the weather was so lovely. The staff were friendly and attentive and our meals were particularly enjoyable as we benefited from the Government initiatve.
Had three courses, mixed bread with oil for starters (it was actually three rolls warmed up), we both had rump steak which was very nice indeed, what really let it down wasn’t the cheeseboard which was £7.25, when it arrived it had the two smallest pieces of cheese ever, four small crackers (which were still too many for the amount of cheese we had), three grapes cut in half, a tiny pot of chutney and three small slivers of celery! In hindsight we should have returned before consuming, when the waitress came over I did tell her and she said that she would “let the kitchen know”, not sure if that will make any difference though, shame cause it put a dampener on the meal.
The food was absolutely Devine. The staff were fantastic and extremely accommodating- My only complaint Would be the lack of veggie options available. I would suggest having maybe an alternative to the recipes which are meat recipes, it gives more choice. I had to ask if there was anything as they night time menu only had 1 veggie main. Food was very tasty tho xx
The food was outstanding, i realise with the current environment that there will be a few hiccups but not having a wine menu i believe is an issue
The staff however were wonderful but seemed very young and inexperienced and could have had more leadership.
The bar however i could not say the same about and found hugely disappointing, i am not going to say names etc but found a certain member of staff completely out of his depth and definitely requires extra training
On the sunday we went to the bar to order drinks but were informed that it had now reverted back to table service only, this i have no issue with. my issue is that we were informed somebody would come and take our order, after 20 minutes i had to go back to the bar to ask if somebody could do so
I then had to go back 20 mins later to ask where the drinks were! to be informed they were having issues with the pumps!
I however would revisit
Efficient service. Food was very good. A good first post-lockdown meal out.
Good food; nice range on menu and well cooked dishes. Service a little slow, but this was due to understaffing not poor service per se. Only one waitress for a full restaurant. She worked incredibly hard! Nice friendly atmosphere.
Stunning views, a lovely treat but disappointed with the customer service in the morning. We weren't assisted on arrival so just seated ourselves, then after being missed for some time I let one of the staff know we didn't know how to order. When the breakfast requested arrived we had to keep asking for things, sugar for the tea, jam and butter for the croissants, cutlery.
The lack of social distancing, PPE and basic Covid safety was a real worry too.
For such a quality establishment we expected better.
