Fantastic food in a lovely setting - old style Victorian house.
Front of house were very knowledgeable on all the dishes and happy to accommodate any changes.
6 course tasting menu was divine - beautifully cooked and spectacularly presented.
Another fantastic meal at The Park.
The ‘menu’ gives nothing away, so you never know what to expect, but it is always delicious - and beautiful!
The staff are knowledgable and very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.
The food and service was simply outstanding, every dish was beautiful, every flavour complimented the next, will definitely be going back!
Exceptional Food topped with exceptional service. Would highly recommend.
I cannot fault this restaurant everything was perfection.
The waiting staff were so informative and they definitely were not reading from a script they knew the wine and food inside out.
I ate food that I wouldn’t normally go near, all the favours came together so beautiful, every bite revealed a new taste.
The wine was paired beautifully and was amazing.
My only disappointment was that I couldn’t afford to employ the chief and waiting staff to feed me every day.
We enjoyed the meal, the tastes in each course were brought out really well and the standard was very high. The problem we had was the size of the portions being small and at the end of the "dinner" menu we were left feeling we needed more. This included the two ladies who have no more than average appetites. The wine option for the dinner menu complimented the food really well and enhanced the meal. A more substantial serving for the main course would help the overall balance.
Second visit to restaurant this year and again did not disappoint. Seven course tasting menu superb, served at perfect pace by lovely front of house team. Excellent value for money, cannot find fault. Look forward to going again
Please don’t miss this restaurant. If I could give it 20 stars I would. Thank you for a lovely evening!!
While we enjoyed the food and felt the quality of the food excellent we were disappointed with the portion sizes and choice. The restaurant offers a 7 course tasting menu which you would expect the portion sizes to be relatively small it seems when opting for the four course set menu which is the only other choice they are just omitting 3 courses from the tasting menu. What would concern me on returning to the restaurant is any lack of options has my wife is quite fussy over which meats or fish she will eat this may of resulted in us having to leave the restaurant if we just opted for a night with a different food theme. My thoughts are if people are going to opt for a four course option then make it substantially different to the taster meal and maybe offer a few extra options. On the plus the service was excellent.
The restaurant cancelled my reservation a few days ahead with no explanation!
Absolutely outstanding. Can honestly say that if I could give the service a 10 I would. The two blonde ladies (Harriet and Kat, I think that’s their names) were particularly charming helpful and made the overall experience.
My date for the evening had never been to a restaurant tasting menu and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
Fantastic ambiance - the dining room in the orangery is comfortable and well appointed. The 7 course tasting menu is outstanding. Our favourite being the cod (on the evening we were there) which was a surprise as by looking at the menu we would have picked the pork as the one to look forward to. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Definitely worthy of the 3 rosettes and a real future Michelin star contender.
My husband and I went for the 7 course tasting menu, and each course was delicious. There was a wide variety of flavours that blended well and we would happily eat here again. Nice selection of drinks, my mocktail was lovely. Highly recommend!
Friendly service with great food well thought out taster menu, only slight negative was the price of the paired wine option with the taster menu, just a bit less expensive would mean dinners would get the whole experience. Still great and would highly recommend if in York to book a table.
A lovely experience for a special occasion, delightful staff
Fabulous meal. We booked last minute after looking at some online reviews. It surpassed all expectations. The food was inventive, tasty and beautifully presented. We were served by Catherine who explained each dish and was attentive without being intrusive.
Nice surroundings. Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Gorgeous food.
We came for a special occasion as although regularly in York we usually eat within the city walls. We were very glad to take a very short cab journey to this great restaurant. We had the 7 course taster menu and at least 4 courses were beyond superb. 2 were very good, and one was interesting. The meal caused much delight and discussion in itself, the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was absolutely wonderful. As we live in London, we found the price very competitive and we will most definitely return.
An exceptional dining experience - Adam Jackson and his team serve some amazing food and wine combinations - very impressive and we will be back !
The food is incredible. This was our second visit for our tenth anniversary and we plan on making it a more common occurrence. The staff are thoughtful, knowledgeable and friendly. I can’t fault it and it’s definitely one for the special occasion.
Took the £48 four course menu and was not disappointed. Small portions, but absolutely delicious. The pork dish was outstandingly good, and loved the breads and marmite butter. If we go back to York, and it’s likely we will, we would definitely return.
Excellent food and discreet service.
Would definitely go back again.
Don’t forget the free dinner as agreed if you get a Michelin star!
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening
Very pleasant staff and dining room. Small intimate room. Helpful staff which change the tasting menu to accommodate our needs. Good selection of wines for each course, excellent Somiliar. Highly recommend this restaurant away from the bustle of the city.
Fantastic experience, staff where very welcoming. The food was fantastic!
We’ve been to the Park several times now and really thought this was the best menu yet! Scrummy. Was a little noisy though as there was a big family group in the restaurant with 3 children. Not the usual ambience as a result . Fabulous wine pairings as always
my wife & i have been to adams restaurant previously were blown away then and this time did not disappoint we have been to many quality eateries and adams is among the very best his understanding of flavour combinations is nothing short of fabulous we had the six course tasting menu and ended the evening well satisfied looking forward to the day when adams experience and talent get the recognition he truly deserves we cant wait until we return again
Adam Jackson fed us on my husband’s 60th Birthday at his very low key restaurant he ran part time at Sutton Park.We and a fabulous time then for my family. He has now moved venue to make his amazing food within Marmaduke’s Hotel in York.Although he only offers a set 4 or 7 course menu (with an optional additional cheese course) he prepares and serves exquisite food. The attention to detail is exemplary and each element of each course is amazing.I always feel a place is extra special when you realise that you would have trouble replicating the food at home yourself. The ingredients are seasonal and fresh. Our asparagus course was fabulous-how do you confit the egg yolks? The smoked trout was subtle and prepared with the usual beetroot and creme fraiche but presented with a delicate touch and the shards of linseed crackers were to die for.Adam presented me with a little box of these to take home so that I could enjoy them on another occasion.A main course of pork three ways include pork fillet stuffed with truffle but the star was the pork cheek which was melt in the mouth gorgeous.Pudding was lovely with a homemade blood orange sorbet. The wine list is short but very comprehensive although we took some special wine which we aid corkage on since it was my husband’s 65th Birthday. Not sure why it has taken us so long to return to tast Adam’s cooking but we will be back and be singing his praises to anyone who appreciates fabulous food. Many thanks for a lovely evening. Thanks for signing our bottle of Nytimber which we had as an aperitif(just as we had 5 years ago)
Excellent food and service. The noise level was quite high and background music was not appreciated.
Fantastic food and service, loved the music too! Thank you
Food is quality. All the 7 courses were great. The accompanying wine at £50 each I thought was a bit pricey
An amazing experience. The food was exceptional. Definitely recommend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience at the park . The service was excellent and the food delicious and beautifully presented. The portion sizes which are always small in a tasting menu were, I felt , particularly small. We don’t have big appetites so I selected the 4 courses but would I’m sure have managed the 7.
All our party enjoyed all the courses and could not choose a favourite, which must be a compliment to the Chef's choice and cooking.
The best restaurant that I have been to in York. Would definitely go again.
Fantastic tasting menu and seamlessly matched wines. My only criticism would be the setting and background music which slightly detract and although this won’t stop me going again the meal that we had deserves a much better stage
Recommended by family. Fantastic service and dinner, intimate setting and like visiting someone’s home. Every course beautifully presented and a nice wine selection to accompany.
The Park Restaurant in York is one of the best restaurants in York - actually one of the best restaurants I've been to anywhere. The menu is stimulating, different, and innovative showcasing an amazing grasp of texture and flavour with a logical sequence to the progression of truly amazing dishes that combined to provide one integrated dining experience. Nothing jarred or was out of place so that each dish was in harmony with the previous without (as sometimes happens with tasting menus) ever being reduced to a duplication of style or flavour. My partner is a pescatarian and we really appreciated the very different but also aligned menu that he had which combined some elements of the main menu but also provided some welcome differences of approach dependent on where in the menu you were. The wine list is extremely interesting, different and very reasonably priced and overall it was an utterly sublime experience enhanced by friendly but non intrusive service and a gorgeous dining room and amazing crockery! Go soon and as often as you can afford!!
Exceptional menu. Delicious food which was beautifully presented at a relaxed pace. Friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. £65 tasting menu good value for money, would definitely go again!
