An excellent dining experience in a relaxed and friendly setting. We had the 7 course taster menu which was beautifully presented, flavoursome and fun. The front of house team bring a wonderfully relaxed feel to a high end dining experience.
This restaurant was recommended to us by the concierge team at The Grand Hotel in York and they're confidence was well placed.
Simple the best restaurant that doesn’t have a Michelin Star. In fact it’s a lot better than most of them as well. The creativity and the way the food is put together is genius. Add to that the brilliant front of house staff who are so knowledgeable and passionate about the whole package it makes dining here the best experience. Looking forward to next years visit already.
Have been before and enjoyed the taster menu this time we had the 4 course menu. As before it was outstanding. The front of house we're knowledgeable and very helpful. If your in the area it's worth a visit if your not it's worth the drive. How Adam hasn't got more recognition is a mystery.
We spent a lovely evening with friends - fabulous food, nice ambience and great service - as always! We have highly recommended you to many friends! Worth getting a taxi from Stamford Bridge - for special occasions! Thank you again...
Was lucky to find a table at such short notice. Heard good things about The Park and saw it had excellent previous reviews. After being in York for the day we wanted to relax and treat ourselves to a fine dining experience. The ambience and reception we received was acceptional. The food was really outstanding and offered a sensational combination of flavours and textures. The only reason I did not give this place full marks is that unfortunately after having the 4 course set menu, myself and my brother were left slightly hungry which is a real shame as we enjoyed the food so much. Makes me wonder if the tasting menu would have been the better option and more filling. Other than that the experience was very good.
Wedding anniversary treat, very relaxed and knowledgeable staff. Amazing food and wine selections.
We were attracted to the restaurant by the reviews on trip advisor and were not dissapointed, the food was outstanding and well up to Michelin standards. Highly recommended.
Went with the family and had a very pleasant meal. When the bread came they told us it was a Lancashire bread bun.Why in a Yorkshire restaurant?
We had the taster menu with paired wines. The food was outstanding from start to finish - an absolute delight, bursting with flavour and interesting textures. The staff were charming, friendly and knowledgeable and the ambience was perfect. I cannot recommend Adam Jackson's restaurant high enough, even for the most discerning diner. In fact the food was far superior to that of the Michelin star restaurant we ate in a few weeks ago. We will definitely be dining there again.
Our welcome was very warm and courteous. Shown into nice sitting room although it was a little dark - chap on next sofa had to use torch on his mobile to read menu.
Dining room pleasant. Food and service exceptional. We dissected every element of every course and didn't find any lacking. Fabulous experience call together. Wish we lived closer so could visit more often.
This was our 1st visit to The Park and wasn't disappointed. Everything was spot on...especially the food. We've eaten at several Michelin Stared restaurants and this is right up there. Thanks for a lovely experience.
Excellent food which was delicious. The decor needs updating as it had poor paint work on the walls .
The staff was very good and explained the food and wine very well . The pace of dishes was well executed by the staff.
Spectacular food served in pleasant surroundings by competent and friendly staff
Excellent food! Every course a great culinary experience!
Our first tasting menu and wine pairing experience. And we could not of chosen a better venue to experience this. This was an early 39th wedding anniversary night out. We felt that we wanted to spoil ourselves and we did. On looking at the menu before being seated, there were many ingrediants that I would not choose to eat, yet, each of the 7 courses got better and better as the evening went on. Some of the wines that were paired with each course were lovely others (only one or two) we felt were not, but we are not wine drinkers at all, we wanted to have a unique celebration together. We would definitely come back and do this again.
The staff, the food, the wine along with my wife made our experience, one to never forget.
Lovely venue & amazing food, portion size were a tad too small for my husband
Delicious food. Service superb. Adam even took in to consideration my weird allergy to honey for one of the dishes. Instead of just substituting the dish he used a different ingredient so I could enjoy the same dish as everyone else. Also left a lovely note on the menu for my wife's birthday. Outstanding, highly recommended.
Read other reviews and we weren’t disappointed. We went for the tasting menu which was superb. Keep up the good work!
Excellent food, service and wine list. Not sure if they had tapped into my Spotify account, as the music was brilliant too! The atmosphere was a pleasant change for a top restaurant, more relaxed and lessstuff. Will definitely be going again!
Very friendly staff. An amazing evening with amazing food, altogether an evening to remember.
Kudos to the Chef and kitchen crew and thanks to the sommelier.
The food was excellent. The wine waiter very knowledgeable but the venue very traditional and not in keeping with the high standard of food. I did tell them it was my partners birthday but absolutely nothing was made of it. I also thought it was overpriced particularly the flight with the taster menu.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, the wine and whisky weren’t bad either! Lovely staff and great service. Creative menu using ingredients you wouldn’t necessarily come across in every day food.
Excellent food and worth having the wine pairing. Slightly weird music for a fine dining experience
We will go again
Lovely food and great service, very personal. Food was just lovely and fantasticly matched with wine. Don't go there starving as small plates and not cheap.
On the rare occasions me and my wife get chance to have a date night together we like to try new and old favourites. The Park was a new setting for us and I booked well in advance after getting good reviews from friends. The food was delightful and we thought it was very reasonably priced considering what you got. Would be happy to recommend to anyone. 1st class
Fantastic food Adam Jackson is a genius in the Kitchen
Fantastic food, the wine waitress was superb, she knew every detail about the wine with your food so it made for a great evening. It is expensive but for that special occasion worth every penny. We have been to the Park before and will go again. Fantastic in every respect.
Excellent for taster menus but that appears to be it. No offer of a full evening dinner menu and we had booked this as we were staying at the hotel for an evening meal so that was disappointing. Wine list nothing special and very limited on the wine choice by the glass as an aperitif. Overall ..good but pricey.
Not recommend. The service is normal. I am not a big fan of the food. Some of the plate presentation are too much and too complicated. The food are normal.
We enjoyed a fabulous taster 8 course meal
All the food was without doubt exceptional.
Mary explained each course and was very friendly and knowledgeable.
A great place to spend my birthday celebrations.
We could not fault anything from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.
Well done Adam you are an exceptional chef and we can’t wait to return.
Firstly, exceptional food. If you just want exceptional food, put this place on your list.
But... eating in a smallish room with all diners eating the same meal at the same time meant the occasion felt more like a process rather than an experience. For nearly £100 p/p that's an expensive process.
My recommendation - definitely look to eat here but check in advance that you are dining in the bigger room which offers people more space, ambience, privacy and I think from memory, bigger tables. If you find you are in the smaller room, cancel and consider re-booking.
The food at the park was outstanding, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Outstanding food and service.
Only negative I could say was the music wouldn’t have been my choice!
For posh nosh which I am not a fan of the food and amount was lovely just right with the comp aperitifs we really enjoyed the evening and will return, lunch sounds a good idea
Definately one of the top dining experiences we have had and we’ve had many!
A real gem! The menu is original and unique, the service is excellent (very attentive and professional) and the atmosphere pleasantly relaxed. I particularly enjoyed the fact that the dishes are unashamedly British (ie doing the most of and enhancing British produce and not mimicking other cusisines: Lancashire bomber with marmite for example)
I also enjoyed the background music, from hip hop (never heard Grandmaster Flash in a restaurant before!) to rock.
Many thanks for a delightful evening!
Outstanding quality of food. Should be michelin starred. Service en pointe, wine pairing inventive and food the absolute star of the show
We had a lovely meal to celebrate our Pearl wedding anniversary. Food was delicious and the service good. Would have liked lower lighting in the dining room to make it more cosy. However, not a great deal of effort was made to cater for my dietary needs and no effort was made to help us to celebrate our special occasion.
A great dining experience, innovative, original and above all superb tasting food. The service was excellent and opinions on the food encouraged by the service staff and the chef. A real treat and would highly recommend a visit!
A warm welcome in a minimalist, elegant dining room.
Service throughout was attentive, knowledgable and friendly.
The tasting menu was simply the best food we have eaten in many years and compares favourably with Michele star restaurants in London such as Le Gavroche.
All down a little side street in York!
We will definitely return, I would dearly like some more soup with mango chutney, stunning.
