The Parson Woodforde
Our restaurant is a lovely open-plan dining room where traditional oak-beams and contemporary furnishings create a harmonious and relaxing ambience. It’s the perfect setting for you to enjoy a romantic dinner, family celebration or night out with friends.
Our Head Chef and his brigade are passionate about food. Every dish on the frequently changing menu is freshly prepared from the finest ingredients – locally sourced wherever possible.
Norfolk is rich in great produce and our kitchen’s philosophy is based on seasonality, provenance and flavour. Game, fish, meat and vegetables are chosen with care daily. We have a close relationship with the finest suppliers in the county and they know that we insist on buying the best. We don’t do run-of-the-mill at The Parson but we do believe in offering great food cooked with passion and flair.
Kids’ meals, vegetarian options and special dietary requirements are all happily catered for. Please advise when making your reservation.

Great local friendly pub, highly recommended
Food was amazing (actually we’ve been loads of times and never once had a bad meal!). Staff are all very friendly and any special requests are no issue at all.
Been here several times and every time the food and service are excellent. Stayed the night at the Parsone And it was very good value and the breakfast was again excellent. A friendly and welcoming environment and highly recommend.
After asking why the service was slow, we were told one chef went home with a migraine. The chef on his own, done a fantastic job on our meals, which were excellent. Well done chef, food was fabulous.
We ate on this day and also two days later whilst staying nearby. We took advantage of both their fish and steak evening specials, which were excellent value with two mains and great wine for £25. The mains were very good but I must say it was the desserts we had after which really stood out. There was an excellent choice of desserts and all those we tried were delicious! A special mention goes to the excellent lemon curd creme brulee with raspberry sorbet in a brandy snap cup! Only slight negative is that I have a picky husband who couldn't find a starter he would eat - he would have preferred something less 'chefy' or simpler on the menu, like whitebait. We received great service, including when I booked our second visit by phone with a very friendly lady!
Lovely food great service
I do think the ambiance was a bit old
You could do with light background music in the dining room people were whispering when talking to one another..whereas if there was a bit of music there would be more of an atmosphere
I could hear it faintly In The bar area
Service was fab
Excellent food and service as always
Food was delicious, good selection of dishes to choose from. Only thing I would have limproved my rating was more veg as my dish came with tiny helping of spinach and asparagus.
Main course food we received was good. Unfortunately the dessert I ordered didn’t arrive, when I went to query and cancel the order and asked why I was waiting so long. The manager came and explained that they had a problem with the brandy snaps and the kitchen hadn’t told her.
Menu had a good choice of meals. Service was friendly and efficient.
Fish cooked beautifully with good selection of accompanying vegetables.
There were 4 of us having a business lunch at the Parson Woodforde. I couldn't be be any more complimentary about our whole experience. The welcome, ambiance, food, drink, service - everything was first class. Will 100% be back when next in the area.
Really pleasant evening. Vegan food menu great and they catered for our many dietary requirements as we would have hoped.
Not happy with the quality of any of our dishes and portions were unnecessarily large,I suspect to make up for it.
Service cheerful but considering the few diners the food took too long to arrive.
Wouldn’t go back.
Portions good ,quality ok , not fine dining but main courses good value .Would visit again
Staff were a bit slow but food was excellent. Would recommend.
As usual the food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the entire visit was a pleasure.
Lovely meal for Fathers Day with very pleasant service!
Covid 19 secure felt very safe. I had the Crab Tartlet followed by the Smoked Haddock Florantine both were delicious
Just a lovely evening, great ambience, service, food and company of friends and family.
We enjoyed it so we have booked again
I think that says it all
The service was great, my wife is lactose intolerant and the staff were very helpful. Very pleased, totally recommend.
A lovely visit to the Parson as always,Alison is always so polite and professional, she has trained her staff to be the same.
The parson is a lovely country pub with lots of charm and the food is good value and quality.
Booking worked perfectly, lovely setting outside. Staff very pleasant, attentive and friendly. Food excellent, recommended.
We were lucky enough to dine outside, the dark haired waitress was fabulous- nothing was too much trouble. Food great, we had the steak night special.
Food and service was very nice we thought it as a bit over priced for what it was a bit of a strange menu not many things l would like only two things l liked but that's personal taste.
Good food and nice ambiance! Loved that I celebrated my birthday here!
Sitting on the terrace in picture perfect weather for drinks before moving inside for dinner, our evening could not have been lovelier.
The waiting staff are particularly friendly and attentive at The Parson Woodforde. Cannot recommend them more highly. The King Prawn with chilli/garlic sounds very generic but theirs is truly outstanding. I could eat this for starter and main!
What a lovely meal . Very relaxed atmosphere with all correct procedures in place for COVID 19 restrictions. Quite busy for a Monday with diners outside , inside bar and inside restaurant.
Waiting staff very attentive and pleasant. Waitress and chef went out of their way to accommodate a special request which ended up with me enjoying a wonderful meal . We mainly use this venue for Sunday lunches which are delicious, however the main menu is just fab (especially the fish) .
Nice selection of wines , although we didn’t partake this time .
Well done Parson Woodforde. Well worth a visit .
Lovely place. Outdoor seating was nice. Good food & prices (although I didn’t get much fish gratin on my plate - 2/3 was just vegetables). The service was great, very friendly staff.
Ah lovely evening again and fantastic service and very welcoming as always and we will be back again soon .
Great food but the service was a bit slow
Nicest meal we have had for some time, highly recommended for anytime of the day.
We found this place whilst driving past on holiday so went on website and booked. So glad we did. Really lovely food and great service.
Beautiful pub. The service was spot on and the food outstanding.
Great service friendly staff clean and well organised for Covid regulations .
Food was lovely only one slight problem with two fish and chips meals , fish was great but chips and mushy peas could have been hotter
Third visit within a year. Always good service . Very clean. Lovely food . Highly recommended
You will certainly not be disappointed when you choose to eat at the Parson Woodforde. Happy to recommend, especially if you need somewhere who understands how to cater for allergies.
Lovely friendly staff Service excellent as was the food
Love this place
First visit to The Parson Woodforde and had a really enjoyable evening. All the covid rules were followed by staff and customers and the meal (it was steak night!) was delicious. Also enjoyed a lovely dessert.
Nice welcome. Unhurried experience
