The Pearl - Beckenham
Food and service very good. But..... the music was far too loud. When you have such a large number of people in there, you shouldn't be adding to the difficulty of making yourself heard by having music at that level (or at all, arguably).
We were seated next to the bar with people standing over our table.
Music so loud even the waitress couldn’t hear us when we ordered.
A door to the external patio was left open every few minutes and blasts of cold air poured over us.
Arrival of food and wine was haphazard so often parts were missing.
This restaurant charges top end prices.
This was definitely not a top end experience.
I was celebrating my birthday with my husband and daughter. We had a lovely time. The food was delicious, the ambience was lovely and the service was special. The surprise of the happy birthday song and cake, well put the icing on the cake.
The staff were very friendly however whole experience very unorganised. Table booked for 8.45 eventually sat down at 10.30 and ordered started at 10.50. By this time had more drinks than anticipated to pass the time resulting in a larger bill and the drinks poured were sub standard no attention to detail. I would like to and will try this restaurant again but will give it a few more months to see if they have taken my/our comments on board.
The restaurant is visually stunning. As for the food it was well presented and was of excellent taste. We could not fault the service as this too was of an excellent standard
We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Amazing service, great food! Just what Beckenham needs! Thanks!
