The Pelican Restaurant
THE PELICAN
ULTIMATE DINING EXPERIENCE LIKE NO OTHER
The Pelican Restaurant is a BYOB located in Sewell, NJ. In reaction to the large number of “fusion” seafood restaurants appearing at the time, the aim was, and remains, to innovate and experiment with the classics, not reinvent them.
The Pelican Restaurant often reinterprets traditional dishes by introducing tastes and techniques from various cultures. However, the foundation of the dishes is quality ingredients, like jumbo lump crab, sushi-grade ahi tuna, and hand-cut steaks, to name a few.
The finest ingredients, the peak of the season, artistically inspired. Prepared simply and delicately for your memorable dining experience. Purist and adventurer alike will not be disappointed.

Food and service was great 😊. We will definitely go back.
Very delicious meal! Had the scallops with ravioli and fluke francese both were terrific! Will be back!!
Went for me and my husband’s anniversary and have never been here before. Everything was absolutely phenomenal! Our server Jules was so polite and fun to talk to. We started off with the stuffed mushrooms and they were amazing! Then I got the teriyaki salmon and my husband got the fluke francaise and they were to die for! I’m going to have dreams about how good the food was! We are 110% going to be back again.
Salmon special was delicious, best I have ever had !
What an amazing night out with friends! And.......the Chef and his outstandingly staff perfectly executed well plated meals that we all enjoyed .
One of my favorite places to dine ♥️
We went to The Pelican for Valentine’s Day weekend 2021. When we were seated, there was a paper on our table with a Pre-fix limited menu. This was not listed on their online website menu, nor were we notified of the limited menu when we made the reservation. At $55.00 a person we thought about leaving but figured we wouldn’t get in anywhere else at that time on Valentine’s Day weekend. This menu change felt sneaky and put us in an awkward position, and we heard others discussing it as well. Considering the reduced number of customers, due to Covid restrictions, and a limited menu, service was very, very slow. Also, the seafood bisque used to be to die for, but this time it was just ok. The appetizer choices were limited and written in a very confusing way. There were only 4 dessert options and they were out of two of them. We didn’t like either option so we didn’t get dessert and they didn’t deduct anything off the bill. The entrees were delicious and beautifully presented, but unfortunately didn’t make up for everything else. We are very disappointed and won’t be back for a while, if at all. It’s a shame as this was one of our go to BYOB restaurants.
We were seated at 6:45, by 7:20 we had to ask a server if someone would wait on us. The person we spoke to said he would send someone right over. We waited another 15 minutes and no one came. We packed up our stuff and started to walk out. On the way out, we told the girl at the front desk that we had not been waited on since 6:45 and were leaving. At that time, a manager/owner ran out from the back and asked us what the problem was. We explained that we were seated for almost 50 minutes and no one came to us and we even spoke up and asked someone and still no one came over. He begged us to stay and promised we would have great service and offered free dessert. We wanted to eat there because we know the food is always good. We said okay and sat back down and he said he would send someone right over. We then waited another 5-10 minutes and again no one came over to us, so we left.
We fully understand it was Valentines Day weekend and it was busy, but all we wanted was to be greeted and have appetizers put in. We will go back, but it might be a few months before we do so.
Food was fresh, tasty and served piping hot! Loved our meal! Hadn’t been for a while but just as good as I remember! Will be back!
Food was way over priced for quality of food. Service was horrible. Up charge for salad was $6.95 for a disgusting salad with hardly any dressing. Definitely was disappointed after reading how great this place was.
The food was top notch. The service was great. The atmosphere was peaceful. It was exactly what we needed.
Restaurant was cold!
No ice tea. Food was horrible.
Food was amazing and the vibe was great!
Very blah un interesting food
The Pelican served wonderful food. The ambiance was very nice and the workers were extremely nice as well. We left feeling full and have already told all our family and friends to go when they can. We will definitely be returning!
My wife’s birthday. Food was very good as it is every time. We only come once it a while due to the expense. We completely enjoyed our meal!
The restaurant was very unorganized! Everything we ordered they were out of! Food was very ordinary! Can cook better food at home!! High priced -not worth it! Won’t be returning!!
We made reservations for 5:30 table of 8 and we were disappointed. We were actually one of the first tables there that night . Appetizers were overcooked . Overall the main dinner was good but over an hour wait ... all of our sides were cold and 1 person in our party their dinner came out 20 minutes later. It was a birthday celebration and it was disappointing! We’ve always had a great meal and great service but this wasn’t great service this time. Kitchen was not on their game that night. I did relay the message to waitress about our service but she seemed overwhelmed that night
