We had an awesome server with great suggestions for our vegan diet, the DJ was good too
Love it as always
Service, food, and views were great!
It’s time to update the decor! Wayyyyyyyy overdue. This use to be my “go to” place—usually at night (bar area). Not so much during the day.. phenomenal location, inadequate ambiance, decent service
Great food, atmosphere and staff.
some food items were too bland for me but other than that, food was amazing. Servers messed up a few times (e.g. my wife ordered eggs w/ bacon and bacon arrived 40mins late).
Overall, I would go here again as these hiccups could have been a one-time thing.
Beautiful place. Good food. The service could have been better.
Ushered in 2022
Worst service ever. Not clean space. The tables and chairs were very dirty. Very slow and bad service. Will never recommend it to anyone!
Steak was incredibly small, otherwise, it was a great experience and we recommend.
Jeff was an amazing server!!
Perfect Birthday dinner date! All of the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. Our server made a very smooth transition into desert with a candle right away! Wonderful surprise.
We celebrated our 36 anniversary
Amazing service, great view, great food
Lovely from beginning to end! Beautiful views, amazing service and excellent service!!!
Overall, the food was tasty. The portions were smaller than most restaurants. Therefore, you paid more and received less.
The service was okay.
The ambiance was pleasant and the view of the city was great!
I enjoyed spending Christmas with my family here.
Food was excellent but Covid protocols were poor. When we started to show our proof of vaccination the hostess said we didn’t need it. Then our waiter wore his mask below his mouth & we noticed most of the waiters wore their masks below the nose.additionally the tables were quite close together. I would not visit again during the pandemic period as it did not feel safe
We had very nice meal. The place was a wee bit overloaded. Food was great. Hostess was beautiful and efficient. We had the privilege of having the Food/Bev director serve us because they were so busy. Everything was lovely. It should ne noted that I was with the prettiest girl in the restaurant.
I expected to be asked to produce proof of vaccination at the door but none such request was made. I thought about leaving at that time. Despite an appointment made days before a long wait of almost half an hour ensued. Then myself and my companion were guided to a densely packed portion of the restaurant. Of the 22 people seated in this cramped space we were the only 2 wearing despite instructions saying to wear masks at all times other than when eating. This was a paltry attempt at COVID-19 control. Rules were ignored everywhere.
Excellent food The only complaint is the wine menu was QR code not a problem for me but my 83 yo companion asked the server who brought us the wine menu ( NOT our server he was great! ) what happens when someone doesn’t have a cell phone his snotty and sneering loud reply was “I don’t know anyone who doesn’t have one” My friend was totally embarrassed in front of other diners as she doesn’t have one and struggles with technology Patrons should not have to be humiliated by servers who think a tip is their right Other than that we love the Penthouse
Worst service on Christmas Day. Brunch was ruined by the host who has a terrible attitude and should not work in hospitality
Service was bad
Spectacular view.Perfect Christmas Brunch. We’ll always go back!
Beautiful views and ambiance and great service for a memorable holiday breakfast while visiting a long time friend after a long time.
I was delighted with the salad and vegetables. The flat steak was tough and somewhat difficult to cut.
My date had dined here before and the setting was beautiful. Wait staff were prompt and courteous. Main course of striped bass was generous and the fish was cooked perfectly preserving the delicate flesh. The restaurant is a little pricy but the food and service were first rate.
The ambiance of the hotel was a dream on Christmas! Our tables view of LA was magical. The food was delicious and our service was perfect. A well trained and friendly staff. Would come here again and tell anyone I know who is in LA to put it at the top of the list. It would also be the perfect date spot. Conversation would be easy in this dreamy environment.
Terrible service, not worth the view at all. We were a party of 4, they brought out 2 plates and an hour later (literally an hour the waiter kept telling us it was coming right out) an hour later he returns to the table to ask what the other 2 meals were again. Due to the huge delays we were told the mimosas and bloody mary would be free as a form of apology, he still charged us the bloody mary. I had such high hopes for this place, but will never return and will not recommend.
Our Waiter was STEPHEN S. He did not come by to check on us ONCE as we dined.
On the contrary, he practically ignored us the whole time we were there and as he would walk by our table he would look the other way, almost as if he could not stand me and my family.
1st attempt for Service was when we requested to get our picture taken at our table while we waited for our food. He said "hold on" and walked away...never to return.
2nd & 3rd Attempts for service was me saying loudly "excuse me" as he walked by and he kept walking.. even looked the opposite direction where there weren't any tables
4th attempt was when he walked by and i was just a little louder . As he came by I asked that he remove the pastry basket from bill that never came as we had finished our food and that he please bring the bill
5th Attempt After the bill was requested he checked on 3 tables before printing the bill.. I then politely asked again and he finally brought the bill...
Once we handed him the credit card he proceeded to leave it on the side of the register and continued to check on other tables...
I then advised him that we were running late for an appointment and needed it back quickly. He said "give me a moment" and continued to wait on others...
I then proceeded to walk over to the manager and ask him to please charge our card so that we could leave.
Mind you, we arrived at 9:30AM prior to Brunch rush hour. Stephen was not busy! He simply decided he did not want to provide us service from the moment we arrived.
Food was great, the service from the person serving us was good. However we were celebrating the 30th bday and were 11of us , we had informed them and called to tell them again about the 30th bday . On the call they said they have the chocolate cake and would write the name etc but when we are there they said last minute that they don’t have a Pastery chef .. in the end they did not even serve the chocolate cake. The put an Ice cream in a cup with candles and served it. I would not recommend this place for special occasions or business meals where you want to surprise your client on their bday.
In addition the vintage of the wines on the menu are wrong for such a nice place I did not expect that.
We have been here many times and loved it and hence planned this occasion here . Utterly disappointed
Drinks food and service were good. The building AC was not working which made it a bit uncomfortable while dining and in our room
While the hostess was amazing, the server on the other hand was cold and rude. He seemed to be inconvenienced by our table and any request we had.
This place could be money w the Amazing Views to the water n city. However it was the atmosphere was very cold, non charming n very loud. The restaurant felt like a cafeteria not the 5 Star restaurant we were hoping for. Menu options were limited and pricey. Food was ok at best! Disappointed Birthday Dinner!
Tbh I’ve never been truly thrilled with Mastro’s
Same this time
Bread doughy, onion soup Cold, not lukewarm, cold
Meat cooked uneven.
Baked potato tasted microwaved
Good service but nope DONE
overpriced for mediocre food
Oh that View! You can’t beat it. On a clear day the ocean view is stunning. Nice, fun, hip vibe. Food is ok but the menu is very limited. It’s expensive for what it is, and drinks will add up quickly. You’re really paying for the ambience, which is very special and unique.
The brunch is at a great spot. The food was delicious and the view spectacular.
Food was okay but service was amazing! Love love the ambience! View was wonderful!
Great food views & service. Will go again. Had brunch.
6 people 60 to 80 years old got together to meet and talk. We were seated in the bar area where the music and crowd noise was the worst we have ever experienced. We asked to have our table changed to a much quieter part of the restaurant. The hostess was willing but the food and beverage manager, a young fellow with a big ego named Eman, refused. Rather than providing good service to 6 mature people, he refused because he said the restaurant was not busy enough to open up the quiet part. Honestly, I got in his face about his inability to give good service. We then decided to cancel our orders, pay for our drinks and leave. When I told this to this arrogant young fellow, he proceeded to lecture me, a 76 year old senior professional, about how I should address him and not humiliate him. He did indirectly suggest that he might give us a quiet table, but he insisted that I first let him talk down to me about how I should address him. I held my position and told him that we were leaving. Ultimately we were moved to a more quiet table and the wait staff provided excellent service.
As we moved to the new table, other guests in the restaurant toasted us for standing our ground against this arrogant young fellow. While he later calmed down and was somewhat solicitous, the experience with him at a very expensive place soured the experience. This fellow is clearly in the wrong job. He lacks the ability to make customer satisfaction a priority.
