This was our first visit, found quite by chance as a meet up point with friends. A good find, very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and tidy restaurant. Not a large menu but lovely roast dinners perfect for Sunday. Food was well presented and very tasty. Will definitely return and recommend to others. Thank you 😊

The only criticisms are that the starter portion sizes were a little small, although delicious. The one other thing was that my peppercorn sauce was just on the salty side, not enough to return it but it was very rich and tasty all the same.

No cauliflower cheese left which was a pity as we’d wanted it to accompany Sunday roast. Food was very good. We had beef, chicken and mushroom roasts and everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great. Staff very pleasant. Some of the music was ok, but at times it was very loud and not particularly ambient for a restaurant.

First visit here, after a recommendation. I have to say, everything was top notch. It reminded me very much of La Rue when that first opened about 30 years ago. Good quality food which was cooked to perfection. Service was lovely, very friendly but not intrusive! A lovely intimate dining experience (up market french cafe style). We were so pleased we took our friends there! We will definitely be returning 🥰

Not your average food, luxury, high end quality, not just steak and chips, exceptional quality, not cheap but worth every penny. They do early bird deals so worth checking times for that, would recommend booking. Restaurant not packed but think that's purposely done to make the service top notch too. Cocktails are delicious too.

We had heard very good things about the Pepper Mill. The food was excellent, very flavourful and perfectly portioned. Service was perfect and very reasonably priced for the quality of the food served. Will 100% be returning and recommending to others.

We once again visited the pepper mill on a Saturday evening we were shown too our table straightaway we ordered the house white wine which was lovely our food was amazing as always we had starters main course & cocktails & left very happy even brought some steak home for the cat as I was full with my meal love this restaurant & will be back again soon

Lovely early bird meal. Food was delicious , great cocktails & a lovely Malbec. Braised beef & the curried Hake were both so tasty. Looking forward to our next visit

We arrived on time and ordered a bottle of French Red. Then the starters and Steak Rib for the main course. Starters were good as well as pricey, but it was my wife's birthday so no probs. The main course was Steak Rib - they were delivered and we started cutting into the steak: It was grisly and almost unchewable at times. 60% of both our meat could not be eaten and at around £56 for both that was bad. We explained the issue to the waiter who could see the problem; he said another couple had had the same experience. We asked for the bill and this was approx £107. The waiter reduced this without us asking by approx £10.!!! Never again Pepper Mill - QC your products before you spoil your clients special night out.

A very enjoyable evening with friends, excellent food and friendly, efficient service. It is always such a pleasure to eat here, with a regularly changing and inventive menu. It was our friend's first time and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves

We have eaten twice at this restaurant recently and the food is just amazing. There's a really interesting choice on the menu and the early dining offer is fantastic value for money. The service was very friendly and they booked us a taxi home too. We've sat downstairs and up, both times a lovely ambience. This is definitely our go to restaurant with friends now! Well done everyone at The Pepper Mill!

It was a very enjoyable evening with service being the right balance of attentive without being intrusive. The menu was very varied and interesting; the only caveat is the rather complicated use of asterisks to denote additional costs for certain dishes as well as added costs for side orders. This could be simplified over time as the management get to see an overview of costs of raw materials. The house wine wasn't too expensive and went well with our choice of fish dishes- Hake and Brill, which were prepared very differently and were delicious as well as being a good portion size. The side of seasonal veg was also generous and a lovely light cooking left them just the right amount of crunchy. The desserts were very well presented and really tasty. Keep your chef! They're great. It is on the pricey side but well worth saving for a special occasion.
