We have 7 beautifully appointed rooms including a honeymoon suite with a Queen Anne 4 poster bed, all bathrooms tiled in Artisan Limestone with 8″ rain head showers.
We also have a cosy wine bar offering an extensive range of drinks, including 100 different wines, 20 by the glass, a range of cocktails, 40 different Gins and draft beers.
The service at the bar when we arrived wasn't great. the girl that served us got halfway through pouring our drinks and left them on the back of the bar and forgot about us. It was only when I reminded her we were there that she finished our order.
The food itself was very very nice, we decided not to stay for dessert and coffee as the noise coming from a party of 8 sat close by was unbearable. As a result we went to a different bar to finish our evening.
Excellent food and service in a lovely little restaurant. Go there if you like food food and a nice atmosphere.
Our first time here, service lovely, the place is really nice and we felt very comfortable. The kitchen is open at the back of the building and it's good to see Chefs at work. Remarkably quiet for being so close. We both had rib-eye steak, deciding that chips were going to be too filling I had salad and other half had new potatoes and veg. Sticky toffee pud and rhubarb creme brûlée were both lovely, the steaks were very tasty and there is an extensive wine list.
Really pleased, we had a great time and will be going back.
Went by reviews and the local counsellors recommendation in a magazine and they weren't wrong. Excellent, knowledgeable service. Food good and tasty
Great service, great food. Polite prompt service with a smile.
Good job. Wiltshire suffers for decent places to eat, glad to find Peppermill.
Our first visit to The Peppermill and it won't be our last either. Clearly a very popular restuarnt, we were greeted and quickly shown too our table. The waitress was quick to take our drinks order.
The menu was not massive, but the selection will cater to everyones taste. The drinks list was very good and reasonably priced.
The waitress was polite and again quickly took our starters and main meal selection. All other tables were occupied but it didnt feel cramped or overly noisy . Staff were busy, but not rushed.
Both starters were a good size, and were delicious....recommend the Chicken Liver Pate with caramlised onion marmalade and the Sweet Potato Croquettes with blue cheeses.
Main course was also delicious, Atlantic Cod with scallop and spinich and smoked pancetta and herb crust pork tender loins were both fantastic.
Pudding menue was again small but the Sticky Toffee Pudding was amazing.
All in all would highly recommended the restuarant for dinner for two or larger groups. Parking is easy in the town centre. Staff quick and friendly and the bill was very reasonable and worth eveery penny.
Well done The Peppermill, will recommend you to friends.
Myself my husband and our very good friend dined here on the 1.5.19. From the moment we walked in we were looked after so well. The service was excellent and so was the food. The staff checked on us to make sure everything was OK but we're not intrusive. We were able to have a conversation without loud music. I would highly recommend the pepper mill and would return
The Peppermill is a very special place to dine; the service is excellent and food is outstanding.
Amazing food! Was the best roast I have had in a very long time. Truly exceptional 👏🏻
Lovely surroundings, delicious food, excellent service. Overall a wonderful experience.
We love The Peppermill restaurant and also the accommodation upstairs. We have visited twice now for a meal and a stay overnight. The service of the staff and the quality and taste of the food is excellent and we would highly recommend it. The chef catered for my specific dietary needs and the waiting staff knew exactly what dished were or were not suitable for me. The cured salmon with salsa verde starter and cod and scallop main were delicious as was the pork and chicken terrain and my husband particularly liked the stuffed risotto cake which came with chicken. We look forward to a return visit.
Excellent choices on the menu and all the dishes that we chose were top quality. If I were being picky, perhaps the desert menu could be a little more adventurous but the rhubarb creme brûlée was perfect. Unfortunately we did not have the opportunity to try the wine list, our loss, the selection of wines around the restaurant looks amazing
We were impressed with the quality and presentation of the food. One person was vegetarian and thought that there was not much choice but she enjoyed the dish she had chosen. I had the moules and found them a little overdone. The fish was deemed excellent. The service was good but at the end we could not get the attention of a waiter to pay the bill. This was important as our parking time was running out. We will definitely be back.
Absolutely Amazing food, I will definitely be returning to try more dishes. Couldn’t fault one thing. #delicious
Had a lovely evening meal at the Peppermill, Devizes. Delicious food and friendly & efficient waiters. Would definitely recommend.
Just met a friend for lunch so an easy meet. Great food, service and ambiance. Will be back again sometime soon.
Went for Sunday lunch first class service and food, loved the idea of two meats on the sharing board along with all the roast potatoes etc
Staff very polite and attentive. A little noisy but still a pleasant atmosphere. Starter and main courses were excellent. Pudding disappointing as it appeared to be prepared and microwaved as the chefs were cleaning down their workstations.
As usual, delicious food and great Atmosphere. Always our ‘go to’ place to eat.
This is a first calss restaurant. The ambiance is just right upmarket but relaxed the service is great and the menu anf food amazing - I love going to the Peppermill it never disappoints thank you!
Excellent all round, thoroughly recommended! Had the Valentines set menu along with the matching wines, amazing!
No not at the moment when there is hardly any choice for vegans
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff made for a excellent evening out. Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking to catch up with friends over dinner whilst enjoying good, honest, hearty British food. We will be back!
Lovely place, great food and very nice wine - we'll be back!
Lunch was freshly prepared and delicious, and the entire team looked after us extremely well. The Peppermill is my first choice in Devizes for good food in a warm atmosphere with excellent service.
only found through the web and not disappointed. Beautiful dinner, great cocktails, decent wine list and fantastic rooms. worth spending the night for a special occasion.. very reasonable prices in all respects. will be back without any doubt
Good as ever little more to add thank you.
Will visit again as it is best in Devizes
It was a wonderful lunch with great service
This is not the first time I have visited The Peppermill, and again not disappointed. The food is amazing, the service was friendly and professional and the atmosphere was lovely. We will see you again.
great meal with excellent service would go again.
On the whole an ok experience, friendly staff and the food was acceptable. The service was very slow even though at one point there were only 6/7 customers. I waited 10mins for my coffee after reminding the waitress. We waited ages for the bill and had to ask 3 times each time being told it was on its way. It’s a nice place with good food but not very efficient waiting staff that really let it down.
I ordered a Fish finger sandwich which was actually fish goujons, with a lot more bread than filling.
Very good service and well presented delicious meals, but somewhat spoilt by other loud diners at adjacent table.
Eating out in Devizes; the Peppermill is simply a must.
We had a lovely lunch but we asked to move tables due to very loud group at the next table. Staff were very helpful.
Really lovely restaurant with great service. I think that it could be a little more relaxed with more time between courses. We booked for 8 and were out in an hour and 5 mins.....please dont rush good food. We did mention that one of the dishes ordered contained shellfish which was not in the meal description....the complaint was acknowledged and a couple of drinks in apology was sufficient....I think its a great place to eat, with fresh limited menu...so check before you go.
We are glad you had a good time at our restaurant we always strive to please everyone. Good point about the shellfish and taken on board, menu now changed as a result. We also like constructive feedback, makes us up our game all the time.
Excellent food, exceptional service and extremely good value
My husband and I spent a lovely evening at the Peppermill. The food was excellent and well presented, with enough, but not too much, choice and variation. The service was excellent, and the waiter very friendly and helpful.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone living in, or visiting, Devizes.
Service was, as always, great but the menu was very disappointing this visit and paid the same price for a brisket burger as a vegarian stack burger which was a few slices of veg in a bun and was very average. Such a shame the menu has changed so much.
Thanks for your feedback as I have said we welcome constructive feedback. We did try a different style of menu for a few weeks but didn't work and a result of your feedback we have gone back to the old style menu which does not include burgers etc in the evening
Dined for my wedding anniversary if it wasn't that fact that we won a £50 voucher we would not have gone.
Starters. Pulled pork tasted more like cold spam sour dough bread was toasted so it was too hard to chew, soup of the day way lovely tasting but no crusty bread even the sour dough wouldn't soft up.
Main. Both flat iron and sirloin steaks were tuff as boots and when we repeated every course no salad it means no salad.
Asked for a glass of tap water with a slice of lime waiter comes back with a large refrigerated bottle of water and a glass with lemon in it only wanted to swill the steak down and if that was there tap water why charge nearly £3 for it and the waiter asked if I wanted ice in the glass, I said no can't do cold that's why I asked for tap water stupid
The only good thing was the pudding and I think that was microwaved. So I have been told they have changed chefs well all I can say change back. It wasn't that busy so no excuses.
Won't be dinning there again. Sorry
