We have 7 beautifully appointed rooms including a honeymoon suite with a Queen Anne 4 poster bed, all bathrooms tiled in Artisan Limestone with 8″ rain head showers.
We also have a cosy wine bar offering an extensive range of drinks, including 100 different wines, 20 by the glass, a range of cocktails, 40 different Gins and draft beers.
This is a first calss restaurant. The ambiance is just right upmarket but relaxed the service is great and the menu anf food amazing - I love going to the Peppermill it never disappoints thank you!
Excellent all round, thoroughly recommended! Had the Valentines set menu along with the matching wines, amazing!
No not at the moment when there is hardly any choice for vegans
Fantastic food, great atmosphere and friendly staff made for a excellent evening out. Would highly recommend to anyone that is looking to catch up with friends over dinner whilst enjoying good, honest, hearty British food. We will be back!
Lovely place, great food and very nice wine - we'll be back!
Lunch was freshly prepared and delicious, and the entire team looked after us extremely well. The Peppermill is my first choice in Devizes for good food in a warm atmosphere with excellent service.
only found through the web and not disappointed. Beautiful dinner, great cocktails, decent wine list and fantastic rooms. worth spending the night for a special occasion.. very reasonable prices in all respects. will be back without any doubt
Good as ever little more to add thank you.
Will visit again as it is best in Devizes
It was a wonderful lunch with great service
This is not the first time I have visited The Peppermill, and again not disappointed. The food is amazing, the service was friendly and professional and the atmosphere was lovely. We will see you again.
great meal with excellent service would go again.
On the whole an ok experience, friendly staff and the food was acceptable. The service was very slow even though at one point there were only 6/7 customers. I waited 10mins for my coffee after reminding the waitress. We waited ages for the bill and had to ask 3 times each time being told it was on its way. It’s a nice place with good food but not very efficient waiting staff that really let it down.
I ordered a Fish finger sandwich which was actually fish goujons, with a lot more bread than filling.
Very good service and well presented delicious meals, but somewhat spoilt by other loud diners at adjacent table.
Eating out in Devizes; the Peppermill is simply a must.
We had a lovely lunch but we asked to move tables due to very loud group at the next table. Staff were very helpful.
Really lovely restaurant with great service. I think that it could be a little more relaxed with more time between courses. We booked for 8 and were out in an hour and 5 mins.....please dont rush good food. We did mention that one of the dishes ordered contained shellfish which was not in the meal description....the complaint was acknowledged and a couple of drinks in apology was sufficient....I think its a great place to eat, with fresh limited menu...so check before you go.
Excellent food, exceptional service and extremely good value
My husband and I spent a lovely evening at the Peppermill. The food was excellent and well presented, with enough, but not too much, choice and variation. The service was excellent, and the waiter very friendly and helpful.
We would recommend this restaurant to anyone living in, or visiting, Devizes.
Service was, as always, great but the menu was very disappointing this visit and paid the same price for a brisket burger as a vegarian stack burger which was a few slices of veg in a bun and was very average. Such a shame the menu has changed so much.
Dined for my wedding anniversary if it wasn't that fact that we won a £50 voucher we would not have gone.
Starters. Pulled pork tasted more like cold spam sour dough bread was toasted so it was too hard to chew, soup of the day way lovely tasting but no crusty bread even the sour dough wouldn't soft up.
Main. Both flat iron and sirloin steaks were tuff as boots and when we repeated every course no salad it means no salad.
Asked for a glass of tap water with a slice of lime waiter comes back with a large refrigerated bottle of water and a glass with lemon in it only wanted to swill the steak down and if that was there tap water why charge nearly £3 for it and the waiter asked if I wanted ice in the glass, I said no can't do cold that's why I asked for tap water stupid
The only good thing was the pudding and I think that was microwaved. So I have been told they have changed chefs well all I can say change back. It wasn't that busy so no excuses.
Won't be dinning there again. Sorry
Food OK but service painfully slow. Everyone very pleasant so can't fault the welcome or how friendly staff were but they were just very slow and needed reminding re drinks, jug of water etc. Took 30mins for drinks to arrive. It was not busy and I can honestly see no reason why they were so inefficient. I could see the kitchen and the fault did not lie there. Food was tasty but noted that the Pan Fried Halibut with saffron mash with a tomato concasse with a creamy leek sauce was actually served on a bed of mussels - this should have been mentioned on the menu. I know that not all ingredients are mentioned on a menu description but shell on mussels is a pretty big ingredient that should have been included. Not everyone likes them and there are some that eat fish but have shellfish allergies. We were left unattended with a dessert menu for so long that we decided to go for the bill instead of ordering a dessert when someone finally arrived.
A very enjoyable evening. The first table allocated was poorly lit and in traffic, so we were grateful for a transfer to a much better table. The Cotes du Rhone was rather good. Service was excellent and made the evening. Thank you.
Have dined here many times and it is always excellent!! Have also stayed here and again lovely rooms and excellent service.
Our servers were kind and professional. The food was good, not much variety for vegans at least one option per course! Reasonably priced for a lovely restaurant.
We were there on a busy night so glad we had prebooked. Staff were very busy and I had to attract some ones attention to let them know we were eating there but apart from that small hiccup we had a lovely evening.
Having very much enjoyed dinner here a few months ago, we were sure of another good experience. However, lunch was disappointing. Service was slow ( and please, please stop saying "not a problem" after every request. Why should it be a problem?) the menu was uninspiring and the flatbread was burnt, to mention just a few things. We didn't feel cherished as customers.
Nice chilled atmosphere, lovely attentive staff and very tasty food. Highly recommend along with the excellent rooms upstairs.
We had a wonderful evening! The food was superb and delivered perfect portion sizes. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant is comfortable ( perfect temperature) and quietly buzzing. We will definitely eat here again. Thank you Peppermill.
Excellent food and service. Quite pricey though - two mains, one dessert and drinks came to nearly seventy pounds excl. service charge.
I went to the Peppermill for my birthday with my sister it was fantastic great service and amazing food
We visited The Peppermill in February and it was exceptional - outstanding food and service. We went on 30-Jul for my wife's birthday, and whilst the food was again outstanding (though my lamb was a tad over-cooked) the service was extremely slow. We sat down at 7.30pm, ordered drinks, starters and mains, and our main courses arrived at 9.05pm. By this time both my wife and daughter were past hungry and therefore left most of their main. The place was busy, with a party of fourteen at the bar when we arrived, but those size of groups don't turn-up on spec, so it was sad the staff and kitchen just couldn't cope and hadn't staffed accordingly. On paying, I explained that due to poor service there would be no tip, and my wife had a word separately on leaving, to express our disappointment. The Peppermill is the best restaurant in Devizes, but this has put us off going again.
My partner and I came here for one of our date nights recently.
The staff were very lovely and welcoming and made us feel very special. The restaurant layout itself is very pretty and has a lovely atmosphere.
My only suggestion would be that perhaps tables for 2 could maybe be positioned not opposite one another, but next to each other? So that couples have a choice of what table they'd like?
The food was INCREDIBLE and even when it was busy, it wasn't unpleasantly loud.
We had a lovely evening thanks to your incredible staff.
I gave three restaurant choices to new friends and they chose The Peppermill. We all had two courses and a bottle of wine. A jug of tap water was offered. We were all impressed with the menu, not huge but interesting. And the fact that in this very hot weather, there was air conditioning! A comfortable atmosphere. We visited early on a Saturday evening and it wasn't busy, but gradually filled up. I would say by the end of our time there, 9.30pm, it was gently buzzing. I would love to have given it 5 stars all round, but I chose a cod dish with mussels and most of them were closed up, so I couldn't eat them! Just bad luck some might say, but I was a bit disappointed with that. Otherwise, it was a very nice evening and we would go back again.
We stopped overnight in the hotel & booked a table for dinner. We both had steaks which were tender & very tasty & cooked to order. They had an extensive wine list & my after dinner brandy coffee was one of the best I've had. The service & attention was faultless. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
Very friendly and efficient service, food was good, hot and freshly prepared.
Great cocktail to start followed by lovely food. The pigeon was superb. Busy but it was a friday night so added to the ambience.
service was good, friendly staff.
Was looked after amazingly well and the food was absolutely lovely
Very warm welcome, attentive staff. Lovey food, well prepared and cooked in front of you. Nice dining area good choice of wine and lovely liquor coffee. I’m normally hard pressed to leave a tip but I tipped well and it was well deserved.
A really great meal. A talented chef creating delicious food. Vegetarian options good too. Friendly service and a great front of house manager keeping things running smoothly. There is a relaxed atmosphere and all ages represented among diners. Great!
Great place to eat with friends, good selection of drinks and cocktails.
