The Pheasant Inn
Great service and rooms. Food was good but not excellent however good value.
Love this place. Food is great and worth the price you pay. Never had a bad experience. Would highly recommend.
Excellent Food. I didn’t like mustard and the chef very kindly made the dish without mustard. Now that’s what you call fantastic customer service.
We always enjoy meeting our friends here. The food and service is consistently good and its so convenient as its only 2 minutes from the M4.
Great Sunday roast
We arrived late , having pre advised we were delayed. We were served without delay and left after 75 minutes having eaten courses.
Fabulous staff and wonderful food could not fault it
Eclectic dishes served in a really welcoming space with very efficient and polite staff. We were having a business discussion and it was made all the better by the surroundings and food
Our Table was too close together to others around us which resulted in listening to others conversation without trying!
Not a relaxed Sunday lunch and one we were looking forward to for sometime without children.
Fabulous lunch. Great attention to detail and food delicious.Always lovely attentive and friendly staff.
We stayed 2 nights for my birthday and ate at the restaurant on both evenings. The food and drinks were excellent as was the staff.I would thoroughly recommend it.
My colleague and I chose the Pheasant as a meeting point between Oxford and Andover. It was indeed easy to find (just off the M4 and well signposted) and very convenient. The ambience in the restaurant when we arrived was pleasant, but it quickly became rather noisy - similar to being in the middle of a cocktail party - and my companion had some difficulty hearing. That said, the meal was really excellent (including super pancakes - it was Shove Tuesday) and we reckoned it was very good value. I would happily go again, but choose a quiet corner next time.
We went to Lambourn for a couple of stable visits and this is THE place to stay on a Friday night.
Good food, great atmosphere ( its full of locals which tells you something given its not in a busy area) and it does Black Sheep bitter. I mean, a good pint of Yorkshire beer well served for a Yorkshire man :)
Very polite enthusiastic staff.
If I go down there again , THIS is the only place I'll stay.
Thanks for a lovely stay. Characterful place with friendly staff and good food.
have been several times before and have been blown away with the food,
so not the case this time round , lamb menu sounded very nice but under cooked and very fatty , small portions , not very hot , so very disappointed having made a special trip and have had brilliant food before ., looking round the fish and chips looked a better choice
we expected so much more from a lamb dish at that price . would not recommend on this occasion.
Great atmosphere efficient staff and delicious varied menu
We really enjoyed our meal, the food and the service was excellent, would highly recommend it
Sublime! Good food, wine and fantastic service. It was a wonderful lunch which lasted three hours in a lovely atmosphere.
I lunched with four other people this week. The food was delicious, as was the wine. However, it seems rather pricey for a lunch. However, I would thoroughly recommend this place and will certainly return.
I meet with a friend for lunch at the Pheasant. Four times a year as it is located halfway between us. It has always been good. In many years ever had a bad meal.
Excellent service, fine array of Find. The staff were both professional and friendly. Our meals, consisting of breads, olives, halloumi burger, goats cheese and lamb were superb. A lovely experience from beginning to end.
Tasty food. Friendly atmosphere. Good gluten free menu & vegan menu.
Excellent meal all rpund.
The service was extremely good - the whole team ( including bar staff ) were very friendly and helpful. Our fish was delicious and serviced promptly and piping hot. This pub is so convenient for the M4 junction 14 with adequate parking - it a great location and super ambiance for meeting friends. thank you!
I like the fact that this place still functions as a pub as well as a restaurant.
Food is unfussy but well done and service, from a young and friendly staff is beyond reproach- not the cheapest but worth it!
A good cheerful atmosphere completes the picture - I’ll definitely be back.
Excellent food, beautifully cooked. All 3 courses. Can see why it was popular on the night we went. Will definitely be back.
Service was excellent, the staff were polite and efficient. The food was also excellent. Nearly every restaurant has fish and chips on their menu so this meal is a good guide to how good the food is in a particular establishment. My partner who chose this from the menu said it was delightful. I chose the mushroom wellington and I didn’t really know what to expect. It was fabulous! Both meals were also beautifully presented.
A lovely experience, thank you!
It's several years since I last visited the Pheasant. There have been a few changes. The Service, food and friendliness of the staff was second to none. Although I no longer live in the area, I have already recommended it to those who do.
Great time, good food
Went for a Birthday celebration and were looked after well. Excellent nibbles and they had a decent vegan menu too. Worth driving to for sure!
We booked an offer of premium room, dinner and breakfast for one night on 6 Feb 2020. The pub and hotel room were superb. The food, which was dinner and breakfast was lovely.
The only dampener was that we were charged a supplement of £25 to cover food items we ordered on the menu at dinner. This was not pointed out to us when we ordered and there was no mention of any supplements on the menu. We thought this unfair but paid it. Otherwise we had an excellent stay.
Very enjoyable experience with excellent service. Ambient noise was fairly high but the restaurant was very busy.
My favourite place to come for lunch. Delicious, original food, warm welcome from friendly staff, incredibly convenient location, lovely decor and atmosphere. An absolutely wonderful find.
For those who need a halfway stop for drinks and eats between Bristol / Bath and London this is perfect. Close to M4, service, food and ambience first rate - and the horsey atmosphere of nearby Lambourn all complete the picture.
The food was delicious, plenty of vegetables , more than enough for everyone, staff were very friendly, very good value for money, ambience was also very good, had a very enjoyable time.
Great food and very good value for money. The service was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Whilst the food and the setting were very good, the service was poor.
The staff were pleasant and helpful, but there did not seem enough of them to deal with the number of customers.
We had to actually ask for everything, wine lists, table water, dessert menu and eventually everything took so long that our taxi arrived before we had time for coffee, although we'd been at our table for nearly 3 hours.
Great country pub and delightful staff. Really good food, too. Highly recommend.
Delicious food, very nicely presented. Friendly staff. Will come again.
