The Pheasant Inn
Very good meal. I asked whether chef had changed as the food was so much better than it used to be.
The service was excellent. Altogether a good experience.
Excellent and friendly service, great food and a fair price.
Lovely food and nice staff. Slightly slow for the food to arrive but overall would visit again
We stopped at The Pheasant Inn on our way home from Wisley for dinner. We booked a table for 18:30 on the way but arrived early so we had a drink in the bar beforehand. The bartender greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. Wide selection of drinks on the drinks menu. We were the first people to be seated in the restaurant area but a few more people arrived soon after. There were some specials available in addition to the main menu. Service was very friendly, the food took quite a long time to arrive but it was worth waiting for. Generous portions, lovely crispy skin on my sea bass. It was a shame we were just passing through, we would have liked to have made an evening of it and tried the desserts and a bottle of wine.
Our waitress "forgot" our guest's first course, and only realised when the rest of us were being served, by which his choice had sold out, leaving him to sit there whilst we all ate. Additionally, the crayfish salad was very average - not the dining experience we have previously enjoyed. A disappointment.
I keep returning so that’s is the best feedback I can give
Okay, food was not the best quiet simple and tasted better. Don’t think anyone was interested as to how it was. Booked a table but staff unaware of this. Nobody even checked if the food was ok, which was fine as it was only ok.
Lovely meal, Excellent service. Had a super evening.
We loved everything the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food excellent so tasty. Can’t wait to return. I plan to stay with you when my daughter graduates from Cranfield defence academy.
We have dined here before and thought food and service was fantastic. Very disappointed, service was sporadic and everything took a long time to arrive - menus, drinks, food, desert menu and finally dessert. The restaurant wasn’t even overly busy.
Food was also disappointing, the kids mac and cheese was bland - even my pasta loving child wouldn’t eat it. The roast beef was fatty and the roast potatoes was so over cooked it was almost impossible to cut them.
Unfortunately we won’t return after a disappointing experience.
Great ambience, delicious food - real care taken with ingredients.
This is a nice pub and the staff are friendly. The starters off the specials menu were delicious. The roasts however were disappointing with hard potatoes, dry chicken and very fatty pork belly rather than crackling. The food may have been better had they not had a private event on. Also, the cricket was on the tv right above our table so there was a lot of shouting from excited fans so it was not the ambience we were after.
A very pleasant evening, the food was excellent - in fact one of our party said the scallops starter was one of the best starters they had ever had!!- and the service friendly. A busy Friday night but food was served promptly and well. We shall return!!
Good food and very good service. Never rushed but always attentive. Free parking always a bonus.
I am a consistent repeat customer so that’s all that I need to post
Lovely evening, delicious food. Our waitress was extremely friendly and helpful and added to a very nice evening.
Fabulous lunch. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere, it's simply ages since we last visited but it certainly wont be long before we come again. Thank you so much
very friendly staff and nice food, also so good to be open on a Monday
Great gluten free choices and knowledge on what I could and couldn't eat. Definitley be going back
We had an amazing lunch here, the food was simply delicious and the service and atmosphere was great! I can’t wait to come back!!
Excellent friendly service, minimal wait for food, order efficiently prepared and delivered with a smile.
Lovely food, and so nice to have a seperate vegan menu - I had choice!! Food was really good and lovely staff.
Food was OK, but nothing special - burgers were burnt outside and dry in the middle. Service was very good to start then we waited over an hour for mains to be delivered.
A fabulous meal for the 4 of us, starters and main enjoyed in the garden. The staff were all lovely and accommodating. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the mousse desert for 2 of us was not good. The price was taken off the bill without us asking which was impressive though. Overall a very enjoyable evening.
Very good food. As usual.
It gets busy, so it is always best to book.
Very pleasant, relaxing, good atmosphere, drinks and food!
Pleasant, comfortable at to atmosphere combining quality, well-considered menu and food prepared to a high standard.
Attentive, friendly, professional staff who added to the overall experience.
Would highly recommend to both friends and anyone else either those within the vicinity or as a destination venue for others - good food, well cooked and priced.
Great time again food was lovely and service first class
Great country pub, located just off the M4. Good food, great ambiance and fantastic service. Well worth a visit
The dining room was full of flies, at one point I had 10 around me including in my hair. And they didn't even know how to make a long Island ice tea!
We have eaten at the Pheasant several times with friends and always enjoy our evening. On race days it does tend to be a bit busier and you may have to wait a little longer for your food, but the staff are wonderful and work very hard. This time it was my birthday and we had Michelle as our waitress who was especially helpful and made our evening even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend The Pheasant for any occasion.
Great service and food
Why do you need to ask after I've given you all those stars?
There's too much of this so-called research anyway.
Why can't we just have an enjoyable meal without you bothering us afterwards every time?
It spoils the whole experience so stop it!
A regular stop for us and rarely disappoints. We'll return.
Sunday lunch with family, absolutely the best Sunday lunch I have had for a very long time,
Staff lovely, will definitely be coming back
Four friends met for a girlie dinner - we are all 'locals" and over the years eaten many times at the pheasant. However we were not at all impressed with the service, the food was slow to come out from having ordered and the staff did not come across as "on it". The pub was not that busy as it was a monday night and there seemed to be plenty of staff so i see no reason why the service was so poor. We left rather disappointed as we so want to support the pub but with the experience we had we may think twice about rushing to come again.
Hi Charlotte, the night you came in was Tuesday not Monday. We were far busier than expected with 70 people eating across the bar, restaurant and garden (not sure you would have seen this from your table in the bar) and it was a bit of a struggle and I apologise if you had a bit of wait on food. I wish you had said you weren't happy on the night as we would have had a chance at putting things right. Please do let us know if you'd like to return as we'd like the opportunity to make amends. Jack
Second visit in as many weeks, cannot fault it, food brilliant, service brilliant and location brilliant
Great pub food, dog friendly and excellent service
The perfect place to meet up with old friends.
The food was interesting and well presented, the ambience somewhere between a pub and a restaurant but the service was exemplary.
A reasonable wine list and interesting drinks available for non-drinking drivers.
The temperature outside was registering 39c but somehow, even without air-con they had made it feel comfortable.
A most enjoyable experience to soon be repeated!
Staff are pleasant and courteous. Atmosphere was relaxed and lovely ambiance to the restaurant. Food was delicious and service excellent. The apple tart in particular was exceptional value and amazing.
