The Phoenician Steakhouse
It was our first time at the Phoenician Steakhouse and from the beginning when we were seated all the way to the end with our server as well as our meal we were very happy
This is the best steakhouse I’ve been to-bar none.I’ve to some really good ones too,and nothing on par with the Phoenician.Food is always excellent and the service is impeccable as well. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, and my picky 9 year old raved that his steak was the best ever.Going back in the summer for certain.
Wednesday night steakhouse specials - salmon or NY Strip Steak - $29.00
Great value and great tasting!
Great date night! We sat next to the roaring fire and had perfectly cooked steaks.
This restaurant had beautiful ambiance....the noise level wasn't too bad....the wait staff was super friendly and the service was great!!!.....The food was absolutely delicious! It came out just the way we ordered it and the Filet Mignon and Lamb Chops were cooked to perfection!! I would recommend this restaurant 100%!!! We will be back next time we are up in that neck of the woods!
Except for the appetizers taking a lil longer than expected whick our server fixed the problem the place was fantastic.
Excellent server and a great meal, Steak for me & Grouper for my wife.
We ate on a Friday evening. Had salads which were good. My wife ordered the NY strip steak medium rare which was burnt on the outside, tough and flavorless, served with overcooked vegetables, and I had the rack of lamb which was also tough and flavorless. Dessert and Coffee were fine. The service was friendly and excellent.
Great food and terrific service! Bartender is great!
A warm and inviting space, delicious, beautifully presented food. An expansive meat and fresh seafood menu. Wonderful specials of the day. Even great desserts! So glad this restaurant is nearby. We will be back often.
Food is always consistent and delicious.
Great meal and atmosphere. Our server Alfredo was excellent
Baked clams and baked stuffed lobster! Really good.
Scallops were done perfectly.. super large shrimp cocktail.. loved it..
The food, service and ambiance were wonderful. Never a disappointment!
The medium-rare NY strip was hard like leather on the outside and dry and tasteless on the inside. Appeared like pre-prepared. Similar with my wife's filet mignon. The vegetables were "cajun", all roasted much too much leaving no vegetable taste, only roasted taste. Overall, what you would expect at a very very cheap diner, not at this price. They took my steqk off the bill, but that was small consolation. Sorry to be so outspoken, but it was really bad. hi
The food is absolutely delicious. So much to choose from the menu. We have had tried so many different things and can't make one a favorite because everything is so good. Can't miss with the seafood dishes. Steaks are the best. The rack of lamb is One of my favorites. The service is friendly and efficient. Mike and Amy the owners are the best and are at your table to say hello and make sure you're happy.
We were up in Woodstock for a few days and came across this restaurant. The decor is beautiful. Steak was perfect and the prices very reasonable compared to what we pay on Long Island. I had the strip and clam chowder. Others had the ahi tuna. Salads and onion soup all reported delicious.
Our absolutely must-go spot in the Catskills. We always have very pleasant experiences dining there. Food is always fresh and prepared with care. They have the best French onion soup (better than anything I’ve had in Paris). Everything on the menu is delicious and the almond joy on the dessert menu is just pure joy! Great selection of local beer on tap. Can’t wait for my next visit!
My husband and I came in for dinner on Sunday, November 24. We were out to celebrate his birthday. My daughter, Lou, was our server of course. She was great. Beyond that, the food was absolutely wonderful. We love the ambiance and the welcoming owner and staff. There are so many dishes on the menu that we want to try. So no doubt we will be back very soon. Thanks again for a great evening.
I don’t normally write reviews, good or bad,but my experience here was so disappointing I felt compelled to warn others not to waste their time or money the way we did.My recommendation would be to eliminate this restaurant as an option.Everything from the decor to the quality was wrong. The disparity between the prices charged and what is served is utterly appalling.I am no stranger to the pleasures of the culinary experience, having eaten at some of the best restaurants in the Hudson Valley,NYC and beyond,so I feel confident in stating that if you have Sams Club salt shakers and Sysco butter on your table-no entree on your menu should be 75$.The quality, texture, and overall flavor of the two highest priced steaks was so poor, basic, and subpar,I felt as though A-1 sauce would have been an appropriate accoutrement.Unfortunate.
Wonderful time at my favorite restaurant!!
Food is always delicious, consistent and comes out hot! What more can you want when dining out. Service is awesome too!
Excellent, as usual. Friendly and efficient staff. Food, meats and fish specially, generous high quality and beautifully prepared
My husband and I love the panko mozzarella and filet mignon. The service is always attentive.
We’ve got 52 ounces porterhouse steak for 4 people: great quality meat and cooked to perfection. Big t-bone entertained our dog for 2 days! We also ordered 4 sides, and they could be easily skipped as nothing special: mashed potato, asparagus, grilled veggies. Kale salad and beet salad with goat cheese were very good as well. Coffee and small dessert made the dinner perfect ending.
Great quality wines at exceptional prices-go for it!
We had a fabulous meal, with wonderful service. We’d love to come back in the summer. One note though, I love the virgin mojito, but it needed a bit more lime. ;-)
Absolutely recommended. Very accommodating, tasty, yummy, easy but a little pricey. Workers are very very nice. Would have liked to meet the chef to thank him for a wonderful meal.
Been here before and was happy to go back although this time was a very different experience. Ordered a stuffed lobster came to the table unstuffed. "Sorry not my fault the kitchen messed up". Waiter bringing food out had no clue who ordered what and just moved my plates out of the way to bring the late arriving now stuffed lobster. Nobody stopped by to ask if everything was ok now - owner just talking in the corner unaware of what was happening in his dining room. Very disappointed in a sophisticated and very high priced restaurant with this type of service.
We strive to do our best each and every customer each and every night. Sorry we fell short for you that evening. Thank you for the constructive criticism
While you are visiting the beautiful Catskills don't miss dinner at The Phoenician Steakhouse. Conveniently located off Route 28 the restaurant has an abundance of windows, letting the outside in. I love the fried oysters with a terrific ginger sauce as an appetizer. Their raw oysters and clams have never disappointed. The clam chowder is super.
It's a steakhouse for good reason. The steaks are high quality beef and cooked to perfection. Some restaurants don 't know what "rare" means. The Phoenician does.
The red curry seafood risotto is very special.
This restaurant really has it all "going on". Hey! Beautiful bar too! The bartender actually knows how to make the perfect martini! Enjoy!
It was my husband's birthday and no mention of it was made while we were there. I had put it on the resso.
Everyone's dinner was fine except mine. I had the salmon with crust and special sauce. The chili, basil (?) sauce was non-existent until my son asked the waiter for extra. The asparagus was not cooked properly either. The waiter was kind enough to give me a free dessert.
I was very disappointed in the whole experience frankly. I think you should expect more from a $29.00 piece of fish!
Excellent service and the food was delicious. I had the scallops and they were cooked perfectly! Thank you!
The food was excellent. My steak was cooked perfectly!
Our first time at The Phoenician Steakhouse, but definitely not our last! The absolute BEST meal we’ve had! We loved everything about it, atmosphere, service, food, cocktails, desserts! Our server Terry was awesome! Thank you so much for such a superb dining experience!
Love this place. We usually meet many of our friends there (unplanned).
The owners Mike and Amy are very friendly and always checking with the guests to make sure
all is well.
The staff is very attentive and the food is delicious with different specials every day.
Great place to have a party!!!
Terrific ambience, great food and truly outstanding service. Our waiter (I think his name is Jack) was attentive , cheerful and courteous. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the Catskills.
Quality food, reasonable price. Attentive friendly waitstaff.
The food was excellent. Fish was very fresh and plentiful. The service was outstanding. Terrance our waiter was the best. We have been eating out every night of our vacation which started in Southampton and Terrance has been the best waiter. He just knows how its done...
Best restaurant I’ve been to in a long time!
Oysters were spoiled and had to send back. Salad was wilted.
