11/12/24 I met a friend for our annual Christmas meal and although I booked the garden room it was closed so we were in the restaurant. All was going well until the fire alarm went off and we had to leave our meal and go outside then come back again so food got cold. We were not offered anything for the inconvenience although I appreciate the false alarm was not the restaurants fault but the coffee could have been free maybe

We had a lovely family meal together . The food was beautiful, service initially was very good , but we felt once the main courses had been brought we got a little forgotten, we didn’t get asked if we would like anything else ie drinks or deserts. We would potentially have ordered deserts but the waiters didn’t come round. I had to collar a waitress to ask for the bill. That being said we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

We were just underwhelmed. We toyed with trying somewhere new, or returning for our second visit to TPS and chose to return in the end, based off a previous very pleasant experience. This time however, we just didn’t feel that welcome. We were out celebrating two big things, when booking they asked why we were visiting and if there was anything they could do to help us enjoy our visit. I, like many would, suggested the reason for our visit and that if they could help make it special for us this would be very much appreciated. When we visited first time, celebrating an anniversary, they gave us a free glass of bubbles on the house when we sat at our table. This time however, I’d asked if they could prep my husband’s favourite spritz cocktail, as I was pleasantly surprised to see they had them on the menu (not many places do) and I was expecting good things as he didn’t know I’d done this and last time’s welcome was so lovely, so I expected this might make it even better - more personal. However, this time, we stood around for 10 mins before anyone greeted us and when they brought the drink… they only brought my husband one and not me, they didn’t even offer me a drink, or a drinks menu - they just put the drink down and left… I was like … erm… hello!? I’d like one too please…!? About 10 minutes later they came to take our order and I still hadn’t been ordered a drink! How can we toast with only one drink?! When they did take our order, I asked if we could have generous portions as we were very hungry… they charged us not only for the welcome drink, but also for extra food. We were just confused and a bit disappointed to be honest. Why ask what you can do to make it special for us, if you’re not going to follow through, or if you’re just going to charge us for anything you do!? And for the extra food?! It wasn’t two full portions you have us!!! Also, albeit pleasant people, the waiting staff are forgetful. We waited 15 minutes and asked twice for more water.
