We were just underwhelmed. We toyed with trying somewhere new, or returning for our second visit to TPS and chose to return in the end, based off a previous very pleasant experience. This time however, we just didn’t feel that welcome. We were out celebrating two big things, when booking they asked why we were visiting and if there was anything they could do to help us enjoy our visit. I, like many would, suggested the reason for our visit and that if they could help make it special for us this would be very much appreciated. When we visited first time, celebrating an anniversary, they gave us a free glass of bubbles on the house when we sat at our table. This time however, I’d asked if they could prep my husband’s favourite spritz cocktail, as I was pleasantly surprised to see they had them on the menu (not many places do) and I was expecting good things as he didn’t know I’d done this and last time’s welcome was so lovely, so I expected this might make it even better - more personal. However, this time, we stood around for 10 mins before anyone greeted us and when they brought the drink… they only brought my husband one and not me, they didn’t even offer me a drink, or a drinks menu - they just put the drink down and left… I was like … erm… hello!? I’d like one too please…!? About 10 minutes later they came to take our order and I still hadn’t been ordered a drink! How can we toast with only one drink?!
When they did take our order, I asked if we could have generous portions as we were very hungry… they charged us not only for the welcome drink, but also for extra food. We were just confused and a bit disappointed to be honest. Why ask what you can do to make it special for us, if you’re not going to follow through, or if you’re just going to charge us for anything you do!? And for the extra food?! It wasn’t two full portions you have us!!!
Also, albeit pleasant people, the waiting staff are forgetful. We waited 15 minutes and asked twice for more water.
