The Pigs Edgefield
Restaurant OPEN from 24th of July. Online bookings coming soon.
Real culinary heartbeat pumps through the pub with a unique attitude driven by our dedicated chefs and the team.
The Style is proudly British, and very local, taking influence and ingredients from Norfolk where possible. You will see dishes from the past, back in vogue at The Pigs, cuts of meat forgotten in recent years, used to great effect on our menus. Although the food is taken very seriously, the style of service and environment is very relaxed and casual.
This is a country pub, and although we are passionate about our food, we stay loyal to the building’s roots and ensure it has the atmosphere we all relish from a pub.

Meat was lovely chips cold overcooked and inedible beans only warm but tasty
Our food was amazing was a lovely treat after 14 weeks in isolation x
Wonderful take away for father's Day. Good food and service.
Really enjoyed our Fathers Day takeaway meal from the Pigs. We luckily found a little green to set our chairs up on and eat. Food was delicious, and we would go again.
Had a great takeaway to celebrate a birthday.
Lovely food, good service, staff attentive and helpful.
First time hear friendly staff good food will be going back again.
Lovely food - big portions 😍 starters were amazing. Love this place!
As always, perfect roast pork which melted in the mouth, fabulous dessert (we missed the dessert table by half an hour sadly BUT it meant I had a sundae which was fantastic!)
Service was amazing, attentive, quick and polite, they were incredibly apologetic that we couldn’t have the dessert table but it didn’t matter and wasn’t their fault. Honestly flawless and it is every time we’ve been there!
Wonderful Sunday lunch, expertly cooked and delicious to eat. Would visit again. Most grateful to the staff for seating us in the quiet room, away from very young, noisy children.
We stayed and the rooms out perform the restaurant. Food was basic pub and only ok standard. Very smelly outside!
Hi, we had a fantastic time but the young lady who served us on Friday night made us feel abit rushed as was constantly looking to clear our plates. We just felt like we were being hurried which was a shame
Gorgeous homemade food and friendly attentive staff
We had a great two night stay in an original spare room. Great facilities. Had breakfast and evening meals in restaurant all fantastic. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us.
First time visiting, was really impressed and would highly recommend. Plan to make this an annual trip! Although would only book this when it’s on offer otherwise slightly pricey for me. Staff were very friendly and helpful, wish we could have stayed longer. Breakfast was incredibly good! Good choice of breakfast buffet and good choice off the breakfast menu!
Food was a disappointment. We were not provided with everything on menu, Yorkshire’s were terrible. Crumble was like baby food. Food was not particularly hot. Only the beef was nice.
Come on pigs! We have had outstanding food before - this was like a cheap carvery lunch!
As always the food and service were amazing, the heating was a little high and we felt like we were melting.
We had a lovely stay at the pigs in March 20. Unfortunately I did not know that you had to book the spa area in advance so we were unable to enjoy this experience as it was fully booked. Nothing was mentioned to me over the phone when I booked and paid for treatments separately in advance! Treatment was great.
Food was ok, lacked seasoning and taste in some dishes. Same menu in the dining room in the evening as lunch in the bar.
Dogs everywhere, I know this is a doggy friendly place but dogs off leads and under your table during dinner in the dining room is a bit much for me!
Beautiful pub with very tasty food and a great marmite and white chocolate pudding. It sounds wired but is super tasty!
Lovely pub/restaurant with some nice arty touches.
Barman very friendly.
Food was good.
The length of time we waited for our food, without an apology. Were more than happy to sit & wait but when other tables get there food who ordered after we did with no apology...... really disappointed
The food was good for the type of food it was. If you are after a ‘fast food style’ Place with big servings and no frills, then this is your place. We are vegetarian, the options were good for Norfolk (3 options for main! Incredible, but quite predictable). The food was fine, hearty carbs for the end of a long days walk. Group party type of atmosphere, echoey hard surfaces and open plan made it a little impersonal, playing yoot pop music, certainly not a place for wine and dining romance. But it was clean and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
Food was delicious.
Vegetables were very tasty and the meat was very tender
Delicious Sunday roast in wonderful surroundings, very friendly staff. All round a wonderful experience.
Fantastic environment. Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely food. Overall a great experience.
Booked a table for my birthday for my husband and parents. My parents had not been before and were very happy with my choice. They would definitely go back as would we. Great food, great service.
We had an overnight stay at The Pigs to celebrate my birthday. We had also booked for my daughter and future son in law to stay on their wedding night. So we thought we would try it out. Several of our friends told us how great the place. The food was fantastic, awesome, lush and all the other words to express how nice it was. The staff were great and attentive to our needs. Oh and if you want a snack get the pork scratchings. Definitely going back
Birthday treat for us from our family, half day spa overnight stay and a back massage for both of us.Welcoming staff were great on showing us to the spa but over 3 hours with exclusive use of the spa bath was far too long as recommended usage was 15 minutes according to the signage.Only 2 non recliners chairs so hardly a comfortable area to relax. The small adjoining garden would be better utilised by installing a sauna or steam room. The massages were brilliant, the lunch brilliant, the room was lovely and the evening meal and the breakfast were superb all served by the friendliest young staff ..Really enjoyed our stay at the Pigs and would definitely return but next time look at a spa suite...
We arrived to a smokey room, with Windows open to help try and clear the air.
The service was very good, however when the food arrived, one of the tapas items was wrong. A replacement was rushed out which was cold.
We came for a sunday roast . The staff were very good . However the meal was not good the portions were very small the carrots were hard and they had been prepped really badly not a hint of honey . The meat was very fatty nearly half was fat and not cooked very well really chewy . Roast potatoes were ok but a bit under cooked in the middle could of done with a honey glaze . I was very dissapointed with this especially that it was £16.50 Over priced and under cooked . Should try lowering the price and raising the temp of the oven :(
Great food served hot and fresh and well presented
Food was very tasty and service was friendly and efficient. It’s a very tastefully decorated pub.
Best mussels ever. Veggie burger needed a little more flavour.
Menu had a very limited choice. We had tapas instead but most dishes were deep fried.! However the crumble was delicious. A little disappointed as it was our 15th wedding anniversary meal
Good hot tasty food served with a smiling face. Highly recommended.
A very enjoyable meal and a relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely go back.
Nice decor, good food and good service. Would go again and would recommend. Do think you should have dairy free custard on the menu though
We have stayed at the Pigs before and found that the standard was very high. However, on this occasion the evening meal was very poor. Being an anniversary celebration we opted for the Aberdeen Angus steak to share which was a higher cost than we would normally pay for a main course. It arrived at the table already sliced and very rare, not as ordered medium rare, but at least a third of the slices were pure white fat not a sight to make one relish the eating experience. I wanted to complain but my wife hates to be involved in that that sort of action particularly on a celebration meal So in future we will never order that meal again.
Very nice Sunday roast. Beef was tender and rare, exactly as it should be.
Lovely table and kind gesture adding a birthday message.
Really good service and the food was sensational!
It was absolutely fantastic, very friendly atmosphere could not fault xx
