The Pigs Edgefield
The Style is proudly British, and very local, taking influence and ingredients from Norfolk where possible. You will see dishes from the past, back in vogue at The Pigs, cuts of meat forgotten in recent years, used to great effect on our menus. Although the food is taken very seriously, the style of service and environment is very relaxed and casual.
This is a country pub, and although we are passionate about our food, we stay loyal to the building’s roots and ensure it has the atmosphere we all relish from a pub.
Lovely place, lovely rooms, very comfortable, great food will definitely be back.
Great food . Plenty to choose from. Friendly . Plenty of parking
We went for our Silver wedding anniversary, for a relaxing break, and that's what we got, very nice food, especially breakfast, the homemade sausage rolls and cheese and bacon twists, are to die for, also muffins, very nice spa room, very clean also, would highly recommend, but needed a bit more choice of menu, also a better dessert menu
When we arrived we felt rushed into ordering from a limited menu. The sea bass was off the menu and no poultry was on the menu.
The Tuna steak was raw. Twice this was returned to be re còoked. This meant each person ate separately. No offer was made to make amends for this. We were not brought the bill but had to go to the bar to complain and ask for a reduction whereas if someone had apologised in the right manner we would not of complained.
Fantastic as always, we ended up with 4 for 30th Birthday Lunch for my son, as youngest was called into work, no problem to change table and we sat in lovely restaurant there was even a happy birthday banner on wall in bunting, everyone enjoyed their choice of meals and drinks, was truly de-lish-ous!!!
my son and his lovely Girlfriend had not been before and enjoyed everything and looking forward to booking a stay in a spa room, so great impression made.
we spent a mini Honeymoon here and then this year our 1st Wedding Anniversary in the Wallow and booked again for our 2nd!
Everything about our visit's here makes celebrating or just popping in for a meal a special experience every time, Thank you Pigs Spa Team x
We’ve not been here for 10yrs+ we loved it back then and love it now. Very friendly and attentive staff. Restaurant is relaxed and unique. Food is good, especially the pork belly. Child friendly too. Highly recommend.
Nice pub and restaurant, we tried the tapas good choice and quality.
Stayed overnight here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We arrived in the afternoon and were welcomed by the very friendly and helpful staff who showed us to our room and explained about the restaurant times for breakfast. We had booked a table for the evening meal and were very impressed with the reception from the young waitress who looked after us. The meal was absolutely delicious and well presented. All in all a wonderful place which we will definitely visit again.
Food very good, timing in between courses about right, service level ok but asked for refill on pint beer when main course arrived and this never appeared, prior to this waitress came and cleaned hot plate nearby and ended up catching my wife with cleaning spray not badly just a misting but not what you expect, should be aware of surroundings.
Overall a good experience nice beers and great food so would recommend to friends
Had a really lovely meal at The Pigs, surroundings lovely too, just feel that for a Sunday roast £16.50 was a little on the high side, would recommend though.
Lovely place with nice food. There was no music in restaurant though and the steak was not very good quality for the price, very thin and fatty. Would definitely go back though. Could do with a Veggie menu too.
Brilliant food and atmosphere. Staff lovely and attentive. Good selection of drinks and food. We also stayed in a spa suite overnight. Highly recommended. We will be back again soon :-)
Such accommodating staff and delicious food. We are never disappointed!
Reasonably priced - fairly small menu and not sure I would rush back
Lamb shank to share was delicious! Children’s meals were good too but did have to ask for gravy. They really enjoyed the play area.
Service was poor and sporadic, with some considerable attitude from waitress who initially tried to get us to sit down half an hour before our reservation (our table was booked for 6, we arrived at 5.30 for a drink and a play in the kids area (poorly maintained) before dinner)
Husband's dinner seemed mostly like leftovers from breakfast.
Mine was okay.
However, kids menu is good although would be better as a meal deal not separate courses.
Will not be rushing back or recommending for a good while!
Everything about our first experience at the Pigs was amazing. Possibly the best roast pork I've ever had. Dessert table was great for that lil extra treat. Highly recommend.
Lovely food, very accommodating staff, children highly entertained by games room and outdoor area. Dog happy under the table. The Pigs never lets us down!
Excellent food and great service
Excellent food in comfortable surroundings with excellent service.
Disappointed on this occasion
Most of the food was great but steaks not perfect and one meal had to be returned.
Service good and play areas for children are a bonus.
Fancied something different for a change and that's what we got! Pork belly main was amazing! Cannot fault food or service. Will definitely return.
Absolutely gorgeous rooms and communal areas. Tastefully decorated and stylish corridors and as for the rooms- sumptuous superking bed, top quality bed linen, best tv ever (huge and amazing sound system) plus one at the end of the bath, fire pit and sauna. Staff all super helpful.
Nice and quiet too. Thoughtful touches like bath robes and slippers (bigger size robe be great!) plus pig shaped toiletries what’s not to like!!
Lovely aromatherapy oils for the sauna and as many marshmallows as you can comfortably eat - bliss!
Food nice- I enjoyed breakfast more than dinner and great choice of the latter. Plus you can order room service which is very civilised.
Treatments look lovely but are expensive.
The Pigs isn’t cheap but as a treat it’s hard to beat and the nicest place I’ve stayed. Near to Holt which is good as not much to do in Edgefield itself.
Excellent choice of menu to suit all. Love the iffits. Staff always friendly and helpful.
Really enjoyed the food. On checking the bill 2 gin and tonics had been added, which we had not had. The bar staff returned our money without question and many apologies. Only down side was a very loud barking dog who’s owners seemed to have no control. Otherwise will return.
Just perfect.. Cannot be faulted..
Second visit.. Beautiful.
Good home cooked food ,Well presented.
Nice welcoming feel. Having a good play area for children. Outside dining if weather allows. Not the cheapest but well worth the visit.
Lovely child friendly atmosphere! Great to have a games room and play area. And dog friendly. Food very nice. Service relaxed but they were busy!
Sunday lunch was really nice with some plates (non Sunday lunch) going to other tables also looking as good, averagely priced (in line with the area) and have already recommended to a friend who is due to visit the area soon and we will go back again.
Fantastic place, a very chilled, welcoming place. Food was delicious and service was great too, highly recommended
Although the overnight luxury room costs are quite high (but worth every penny!) the restaurant food is very good but not too expensive. The menu is a little limited on mains (with extra specials) but there are plenty of starters and ‘Iffits” to go for and some lovely desserts. Worth a visit in the evenings but don’t forget Sunday lunch - amazing value.
Really loved it
Value for money
Will go again
Booking easy, service friendly and speedy and food good although strawberry tart base was a bit like a cracker!
Great place - kids loved play area - food good quality - more vegetarian options needed.
Stayed at the pig spa so booked an evening meal in the restaurant. Must say the food and service were excellent, my wife and I both had the pork burger which was delicious, followed up by a half pint mint choc chip sundae, also, delicious. Can't rate highly enough- you will not be disappointed.
The food was very good, the staff were pleasant & friendly.
Can’t fault it even if we wanted to. We’ve been a few times now and the food and the service have been excellent.
When arrived lots of staff about but no one seemed interested in serving us? Waited a good 5 minutes standing at the bar while no one was attentive although standing around doing nothing? Food was amazing as usual
Lovely food as always. Fabulous iffits, although sad that the Cley Smokey was missing from the menu this time! Pork burger was superb. Desserts were great too.
Food was lovely we got our mains about 10mins after ordering but it did take a hour from clearing mains to ordering and getting desserts as think we was forgotten about
