Wonderful atmosphere in this unique pub. A fabulous antidote to the majority of dreary pubs nowadays.
Men’s loo was quite smelly though.

Love this place. Friendly and great service always served by friendly people it's the unpretentiousness that gets me back again. The food is delicious and good selection of drinks. The pub is in a fantastic setting good for walks and beaches, although remote!
I would have marked higher if the seating had been more comfortable. Although it would be a shame to upgrade the whole place and make it look like every other chain pub, and it is the uniqueness that I value, a new padded cushion wouldn't go amiss. Also we'd booked a table for 6 but were squeezed in on a small table, but then a walk in of 6 ppl got offered the spacious table of 8! Never mind at least we got to know eachother better due to the cosiness before the end of the meal.
All in all a cosy friendly pub that I'm looking forward oncoming back to again.

Hi LauraH, We are pleased you did have a good time with us, and thank you for your constructive feedback. We do want to keep the overall style of the place with its uniqueness. We do agree with you that more comfy seat cushions are needed. So hopefully, on your next return, we will have lovely new cushions on all the seats. Kind Regards, The Pigs Nose Team x 🐽

Loved this pub for last 15 years I’ve visited East Prawle. Atmosphere great as per usual and bar staff were accommodating however food was poor. Ordered vegan burger, everything was underdone including fries, only thing edible was burger which was slightly burnt. When asked was offered a replacement, I just ordered chips which then took an eternity to arrive by that point was very hungry and over the service. Then to be told that because I tried the meal could only be offered a discount off of something which was inedible!!
Such a shame and very disappointed as have very fond memories.

The Pigs Nose Inn, East Prawle
Responded on 4 September 2021

Dear Lucy, Sorry you had a bad experience with us. To our knowledge you had finished most of your meal. You were offered a replacement to which you declined. You were then given the re cooked chips as main meal. We have sold hundreds of sustainable, meat free moving mountain burgers in the past to which this is the first complaint. The burger are made by moving mountain.

Unfortunately due to a severe lack of staff the evening was a little disappointing. We queued for almost half an hour to check in & order. The food came fairly quickly but we waited for cutlery for quite a while. The menu is fairly limited anyway and then 3 dishes were unavailable. There were quite a few vegetarian options.
The staff were working very hard & were very pleasant. However we won’t be rushing back.

Hi, very sorry about the limited menu options due to it being after the bank holiday we were extremely busy. We sold out of a lot of dishes. Not only that, but we found it very hard to source to main ingredients the Tuesday after as the local suppliers were out of stock.

On the whole, our experience was great. The food and drink was really good. We thoroughly enjoyed the oysters in particular.
The actual pub is like nowhere you’ve ever been. Such an eclectic mix of ‘stuff’ everywhere. It’s great.
Our experience this time was let down a little by the level of ‘exuberance’ shall we call it, of one of the bar staff. But this also made us chuckle a bit too.
I would return in a heartbeat, as it’s just a fabulous place.

Excellent food, delightful staff and such an interesting interior. One member of staff was so kind. We have a disabled granddaughter who has difficulty walking any distance, he offered to drive us to Mill Bay to the beach. I was so impressed with his generous offer and apologise that I do not know his name - such kindness. Our grandson loved the quirky interior, so many things fascinated him.

A very pleasant meal.

The food and service was outstanding, however after our meal we sat outside for a post meal brandy and we saw a rather unsavoury looking fox on the village green, we didn't expect this and it scared the children. Perhaps the pub could do more to discourage local wildlife.
