A lovely place to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy being somewhere unusual. Good menu and the food came quickly and was good. I think we were the only party in the pub without a dog, but that was fine, despite the odd bit of barking. The staff were lovely and we had a very enjoyable evening. Would go again without hesitation.

Hard to find a pub with more character! The food was amazing - as a coeliac, I really appreciated gluten free options being clearly identified in the menu. Booking a table was super easy, and service was great. Being at the Pig's Nose Inn felt like being transported to another time and place for a couple of hours.

The beer is a bit expensive, as is the food, but it's all worth it for the overall experience. I have been visiting East Prawle for over 50 years and always look forward to nights in the Pig's Nose

Great pub and the staff and service were first class. We asked to be moved to another table and this was sorted immediately. Despite the pub being busy the food came quickly. We were a party of four and all had different meals. We were all more than satisfied. I had the fish and chips and would certainly recommend.

The Pig's nose is a great pub run by fantastic people. We were there on Grand National Day and there was a big screen to watch the race. it was a brilliant afternoon and we felt very welcome. The burgers are delicious too.

We didn't get to try the food. Although we booked a table for 8pm via Open Table, when we got there at 7.30pm the place was absolutely jam packed. No room to move. When we finally got served at the bar we were informed our table would have to be outside as all their indoor tables were booked. There had been no mention of this when we reserved online. It was freezing cold out and blowing a gale so we declined their offer of eating outside as judging by the numbers inside we would have been out there waiting for hours in the cold. So we left and had a lovely meal in The Globe Inn, Frogmore instead, which was so nice we also ate there the following night too - no fuss, no nonsense, no booking required, lovely staff - would thoroughly recommend it. If you really want to eat at The Pigs Nose, I would suggest ringing ahead to check the table you book is indoors not out, otherwise it could be a wasted journey as was our experience.

The Pigs Nose Inn, East PrawleResponded on 11 April 2022

Hi, Checking our records, OpenTable states that you requested an outside table. When you make a booking with us via OpenTable, you must request an inside or outside table prior to your booking. You clearly requested an outside table; therefore, we don't believe that it’s our fault if you turned up on a band night and can’t find a table inside as there all booked.

The Pigs Nose has a nostalgic old fashioned feel about it which I loved. The food is excellent value. Typical pub grub but very well cooked and presented. I can imagine this pub is great if you just want a drink. Cosy in the winter (as long as you are positioned by the wood burner) and lovely in the summer given its surroundings. Definitely will be back for a pint!

Amazing meal in the pigs nose to celebrate my 30th birthday, a real trip down memory lane as I used to visit with family and friends whilst camping. Only reason I didn’t give 4* on service was cos there was some confusion over where our group of 7 were sat after reserving a table when we arrived. But the atmosphere was absolutely amazing, I couldn’t fault it! Thank you to the staff for the quick food service and amazing (as always) atmosphere x

Good pub food. Simple menu but well cooked. We all had the roast beef Sunday lunch which was delicious with lovely rare beef plenty of freshly cooked vegetables. Very good value. This is a lovely old fashioned Devon pub with a warming wood burning fire and welcoming atmosphere of friendly clientele. Also good draft beer.

Hello, We are sorry to hear you had a disappointing meal. It’s also a shame that you didn’t mention anything to us at the time so we could have a chance to rectify the situation or at the very least told us what you had and why you thought that about our food in your review. We obviously don’t want any of our customers to leave with a unpleasant experience.

Service in bar was painfully slow ! When food arrived it was tasty but cold. Cutlery knives were blunt making it almost impossible to cut the meat which was served in slabs. Particularly as the table was uneven and very unstable. A great atmosphere, we will return but never for a Sunday Roast. Maybe just a drink !
