Food was mediocre and overdone and overpriced. Preferred it when they just did pies - simple but so good. Wait time was over an hour. Could have been a longer wait had it not been for friendly locals. I'd only recommend for the beer and the atmosphere.

Friendly staff and very welcoming. We had our dog with us and he was welcome too. Food was lovely, I had the fish and chips and my partner had the beef, both lovely and a large portion of fish and chips.

A wonderful, local pub that came well recommended. The atmosphere inside filled with local people, was warm and welcoming. If only thats where we had been. We booked to eat outside under cover, which it turned out, is where everyone gathers to smoke. The food took an hour to arrive even though very few appeared to be eating. One meal was inedible and had to be returned. We were fully refunded. The other was edible but nowhere near as exciting as the description on the menu led us to expect. Go here to drink and be merry. Do not bother ordering food.

You were one of the most difficult customers we have ever had enter our doors. To start, you ordered a steak dish with no steak and then complained that it was basic. The whole meal, as recorded, was completed within an hour. I'm not sure how fish & chips on the menu can be more exciting than fish & chips. After conducting an investigation, we also found that you visited the bar and mildly threatened our staff. You received your refund, and we cooked the dish to the point it was pretty much cremated, yet you still complained it was raw. At your request, the mushrooms ended up being in the oven for over 30 minutes at 220 degrees Celsius—there is absolutely no way they were undercooked. It is also unfair to blame us for people who chose to smoke, as this is out of our control.

Firstly we politely tried to cancel our booking with over 24 hours notice due to poorly child and family matters. That was refused so we decided to go rather than waste £30. We were then kept waiting over an hour and half for any food as they were ‘super busy’. One poor waiter for the entire bar. They then apparently dropped the veg roast. Or just forgot. Hard to say. We were then eventually served a meal consisting of a few old dried up Sunday roast leftovers which looked so bad we just walked out. Even though we were absolutely famished. I love Prawle point and the Pigs nose pub and on occasion we have had a decent meal. But sometimes it’s been a long wait and fairly average. On this occasion though it was genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had trying to eat out. I’ll defo be back to enjoy the pub and beer in the sunshine but I doubt I’ll try and eat there again.

We regret to inform you that, like many establishments, we enforce a policy clearly outlined at the time of booking. This policy stipulates a 72-hour window where cancellations or no-shows are not permitted. As a small pub with limited seating in a remote area, we strive to accommodate all guests fairly. Upon review, it appears that the delay in your meal was due to an accidental drop of the last portion of nut loaf, necessitating its remaking. Additionally, you arrived significantly earlier than your booking time, and your order was taken approximately 5 minutes after the scheduled In acknowledgment of the inconvenience, we have removed all beverage charges from your bill. Your feedback invaluable to us and we will take it onboard to make sure that this doesn’t happen again.

Friendly but total chaos! We’d booked Sunday lunch on Easter Sunday, when we arrived some sort of Easter egg hunt had just finished, lots of familles looking like they’d had a great time.. but the pub as packed, why they took bookings if they knew the event was on I’ve no idea, better to have simply done finger bar snacks.. we waited for 30 mins before we got our table, which was in what was called the snug but in reality was a 6ft x 4 ft ex- store room painted dark green with no natural light and a very low ceiling .. we ordered some drinks but after 20 mins they’d not arrived and by then we’d decided this was no place to eat lunch .. so we left…. Sorry to the staff that we didn’t let you know but it was still three deep at the bar.. could be a nice place on a quiet day as it has tables on the green and it looked like they pulled a good pint.

Very old pub and must be heart of the village, very long narrow roads as you would expect in deepest Devon. We had the roast pork which when it arrived was a mountain and topped with a flying saucer of a Yorkshire pudding but I did find it hard to locate any real pork just mostly fat but the roast beef that people were having looked substantial so I made the wrong choice I suppose. The barman loved dogs and every one one of them got a doggy biscuit so I am sure they must get through a packet a week. The men’s toilets were a museum piece of urinals and it fitted in with the 300 year old dwelling. The waitress got our crème brûlée order wrong f and we after 25 mins waiting for apple crumble which has pot of home made custard and plum ice cream it was delicious and glad she misheard us
