The Pinkneys Arms
We are a small, independently run free-house, nestled in the heart of the village of Pinkneys Green, on the outskirts of Maidenhead.
We are surrounded by National Trust land and welcome dogs and their owners. We’d love to invite you to join us for a traditional English country pub experience!
Service very good, surroundings very pleasant. Food could have been hotter on arrival at table but overall a lovely time. Already booked again
Delicious menu with fresh local ingredients and excellent friendly service. A local fav for us!
Amazing food and service, never had a bad meal here
We What tucked around the corner on a table for tea unfortunately it was very cold where we were sitting and my friend had to wear a coat.
The food was fine and the service good
I do like this pub. Helpful, friendly staff and excellent food. Extra busy due to Xmas, affecting service a bit and very noisy, but still enjoyed it very much. Will definitely go back soon!
Excellent food, but quite a small venue. We were sat next to a table of eight which did not make for an intimate dinner for two. Probably best experienced in the summer.
Excellent pub and food, with really good service also. Lovely garden also. Worth a visit
Our first visit to this pub as a group of four where we were told that our table was in the Barn which was outside the pub in their garden area. Our food was lukewarm because it was carried along the path uncovered outside in the garden leading to the separate building - the Barn. It was very noisy as there were two large tables in the same room and the staff were not very attentive to us. Would not repeat the visit unless we had a table in the main pub area.
Our first visit to this pub, found at random by reading reviews etc. and it was a delight. Wonderful setting, with a contemporary but traditional decor, and a nice roaring fire in the corner. We were in the main pub, not the barn, but I did have a look and that also looked fab. Huge garden too!
Food was really good value, we had the Sunday menu and my roast sirloin beef was lovely and rare (as I had requested, and very unusual for a large joint so was really impressed, especially as they served a medium for others who asked for it), and amazing Yorkshire and roasted potatoes. All for £17!
The mushrooms on toast starter was also fabulous, and again I don't say that often!
The service was brilliant, very attentive, friendly and professional. To top it off, they also have a great selection of ales and beers, even "Good Old Boy" which I like a lot.
Overall, I was so impressed I felt compelled to write this review, so I recommend it highly!
The overall ambience is fantastic, the staff are friendly and very welcoming. Everyone in the bar and dining were having a lovely time and it felt very jolly. The beer and prosseco options were excellent and the wine was okay (would prefer a couple better Shiraz options). The bartender was outstanding and the service outstanding.
The food was okay - my scallops almost undercooked and great quality but lacked seasoning/taste, my fish, potatoes and veg again good quality produce but lacking in flavour and completely swimming in butter! The cheesecake okay and saved by the passion fruit coulee. The quality of produce very good but the taste/seasoning really lets this place down especially because it has a fantastic vibe and a wonderful locals feel. Perhaps they are trying to be too fancy and need to go back to basics with the food and offer quality tasty gastro pub food, ie delicious shepherds pie, apple crumble, etc.
We're always made very welcome and the food is great!
Top quality food & service at a reasonable price. Highly recommend giving this excellent establishment a visit
Friendly team, great food and a nice atmosphere. We went for a Sunday roast and were not disappointed. We will definitely be coming again
Excellent Sunday lunch roast with the family. Roasts were delicious. Kids roasts at £12 each felt a bit expensive. We sat in the barn which was very cosy
We went on a Thursday expecting a good choice of fresh fish as per their website and found that due to a function that night the fish available was very limited. Two of us then chose fish and chips and when it arrived we sent it back because it was not cooked properly. Next time we will ring ahead and check menu status
Yet again another amazing Sunday roast!!! Lovely to see James and Holly again - great service, and a lovely atmosphere. Thanks guys xx
Always wonderful food and great service. They keep the menu fresh even when turning up for a classic Sunday roast. That’s partly why I keep coming back!
We went there on Sunday for lunch as it was my birthday.I am a vegetarian so had to have the only choice of pasta which was veg dish.Well the pasta was over cooked and Luke warm.Didn’t look that great either.Considering it was my birthday I had the worst meal. The rest of the family had roast and they enjoyed it.Service was poor too.
Our first visit was great. Whe hadnt even finished our starter and said we will have to return. Cant wait for our next meal at Pinkneys Arms.
High quality Sunday roast, well-presented and good portion size. Friendly staff, great ambiance, lovely surroundings. My only gripe is price of drinks which seemed a hit expensive.
Great menu, tasty and perfectly prepared food and friendly staff who always make you feel welcome
Have been meaning to eat here for a while and really pleased found the time - food was great, service was friendly and a lovely vibe.
Amazing amazing food!!!! Thank you wonderful Pinkneys arms...loving the new winter menu.
Amazing food-great service
Staff very welcoming and helpful, clearly a busy Saturday night, but this didn't phase the staff. Menu choices were excellent, scallops delicious and rib-eye steak perfectly cooked. Waiting staff happy to make menu adjustments when asked. The atmosphere was unhurried and made for a perfect night out with friends.
Really nice family lunch. We were in the barn and felt at home. Great welcome from the staff. We will visit again for sure.
Fabulous food and service, just rather noisy due to a loud table in a small space!!
Lovely Sunday afternoon roast dinner with my daughter. I had the beef and my daughter went for the pork. Both excellent despite us being right at the end of the end of the service. Excellent glass of red to wash it all down too! Friendly service and warm welcome.
We had a great Sunday lunch at the Pinkneys Arms this week. Everything was cooked really well and they didn't scrimp on the portion sizes. I had the roast pork belly and porchetta and my companion had the roast sirloin of beef - there wasn't too much conversation as we were enjoying our food too much ! Service was excellent - friendly, knowledgeable and swift. We will be returning soon
Great customer service, staff were wonderful with our young 2 year old daughter.
Very cosy place for all family. Good quality food and service .
Friday night dinner with friends visiting from France. Excellent food, very nice ambiance, friendly staff, and a nice area for the kids to play safely.
Had a wonderful lunch in the sun on Sunday. And the staff were all
First class service and food. Perfectly cooked roast beef, panna cotta dessert just heavenly so all in all a wonderful place to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The service was great and food delicious.
Great food as usual with brilliant service and great hosts
Starter (Pil Pil Prawns) too oily, herbs burnt, not much flavour. Mean plaice well cooked but very oily, crushed potatoes not very hot, fennel oily. Fair enough, they did not charge for the plaice after comments that it was not good.
Great food and friendly staff
Will definitely visit again
Grey food and service. Unexpected find. Take note gin lovers this place has the best gin menu I’ve seen, including most bars in London.
Absolutely loved our recent meal there. I had steak, which I don’t often order out as am always disappointed by over cooked meat. I was tempted by the cafe de Paris butter and tried it. On this occasion was not disappointed at all, but blown away. Was a really well cooked tasty steak with great sides. Highly recommend!!! They do an amazing Sunday roast as well..
