The Pinkneys Arms
We are a small, independently run free-house, nestled in the heart of the village of Pinkneys Green, on the outskirts of Maidenhead.
We are surrounded by National Trust land and welcome dogs and their owners. We’d love to invite you to join us for a traditional English country pub experience!
Grey food and service. Unexpected find. Take note gin lovers this place has the best gin menu I’ve seen, including most bars in London.
Absolutely loved our recent meal there. I had steak, which I don’t often order out as am always disappointed by over cooked meat. I was tempted by the cafe de Paris butter and tried it. On this occasion was not disappointed at all, but blown away. Was a really well cooked tasty steak with great sides. Highly recommend!!! They do an amazing Sunday roast as well..
lovely mushroom starter special, the plaice main course (also a special) was light and heavenly, followed by a brilliant take on apple crumble, mega flavours, textures and complements to your amazing chef
It’s the second time we come there
A great place with fab food
On this occasion the service was a bit on the slow side, we had a toddler that didn’t have the patience :)
Thoroughly recommend this venue
The Sunday roast is fantastic
Great food with immacuatly cooked vegs and lovely beef and nut roast
The food and service are outstanding. Also loved the friendly atmosphere and service. We will definitely be back to try the Autumn menu!
Delicious roast dinner. Great service and atmosphere.
Lovely garden for a drink to start with. Then food is v good with fish especially good. Chips were the only let down. Service is friendly and helpful.
An excellent evening with friends. Food was delicious and we were looked after by staff who were passionate about their customers. Would highly recommend
We dined as a family on Father's Day and we all felt that it was incredibly impressive food and could not fault it. We had the Sunday roast menu but the specials were Tuna and we loved them. we all want to return soon and would recommend it to everyone.
Excellent service. Very good for lunch. Nice outdoor area too.
Always made welcome. Great food, great prices and great staff.
I have been twice to this pub now and I have been very happy with the food both times. The first time it was a rainy evening and we were sitting inside - the downside was that it was noisy and we had to wait some time for the food but the quality was very good and the waiter very friendly. The second time was for Sunday roast and we sat outside - I took a group of 8 and everybody was happy with their meals, also outside it's much quieter. Overall good value for money. I recommend the delicious apple and amaretto crumble!
Came here for late lunch mid week whilst vising the area
Fresh fish well cooked and nicely presented
I expect weekends and evenings you would need to book
Lovely beer garden. Food was very well seasoned and a great selection on the menu. Really helpful with gluten free options and alternatives.
Great restaurant, great food and fantastic service.
The pub owner goes to billingsgate fish Market every Thursday so for fresh fish delicious. I had skate and friends had monk fish. Vegetables were extra and I had jersey new potatoes. Always a good test of the cooking and they were cooked to perfection as was the fish. Price per head including half a bottle of wine each £50 a head. Pub part of the “pub” was busy which is always a good sign. Looking forward to going again.
We had booked a table after seeing the reviews on the roast dinner and we weren’t disappointed. The meal was very tasty and we will definitely be going back. The staff were very welcoming and it was all a nice experience
The Restaurant was busy, which meant it was noisy. For the first part of our meal, the two neighbouring tables were so noisy, we couldn't hear each other talk.
However, the food was nice, the service was friendly and we had a good Mother's Day Lunch.
Fabulous food, friendly and helpful staff. A lovely Mother’s Day treat for all of us!
The staff were fantastic. My 80year old mother was very touched by surprise gift of a bunch of flowers and bag of chocolates at the end of the meal to celebrate Mothers Day. Thank you
Very enjoyable evening. Issue with one dish was raised and quickly rectified by the staff. Would certainly recommend.
Attentive staff and very tasty Sunday lunch. The Lamb, roast beef and fish were all excellent choices. Will definitely return.
Lovely food, although disappointed that there was only one Veggie option for the Sunday Lumch . Although this was delicious.
Sadly the service was very slow, constantly chasing my daughter’s food, main course and pudding although they did take this off the bill.
I’m really hoping that they sort the service out as it’s such a lovely pub
Top class Sunday roast and excellent service and staff , will definitely go again
Has become a firm favourite. The food never disappoints and the service is top notch.
Nice roast for Sunday lunch, service on the slow side though. Friendly staff, nice ambience and decor too. The garden looks great for the summer.
Enjoyed Sunday lunch very much, nice surprise! It is a bit expensive, but good quality and well presented. I went to the Pinkneys Arms many years ago and was pleasantly surprised to see how much better it is since new management took over. Will definitely go back.
It was our first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and the occasion.
We are hoping to repeat this in the very near future.
We went for Valentines night and had a enjoyable evening, we were given a complementary glass of Prosecco on arrival. The fish on the menu was of a high standard which we both enjoyed. Overall a good experience.
Food was delicious, ambience was loved by my guests. Could have used a bit of music during Sunday dinner to drown out the tired children of other guests.
Kudos to the chef. ..and Holly who attended our table.
Great service from the moment we walked in - warm, friendly, attentive - but not over the top! We sat next to the bar by the fire - very toasty on a very cold Sunday. Food was excellent - we had the steak which was advertised as Medium Rare, I would have had it 'pinker' but it was medium (in my view) and was a good quality piece of beef and very tasty. Wine was recommended and reasonably priced. Would recommend.
Nice country location, great atmosphere enhanced by friendly engaging staff and wonderful food!
I absolutely would recommend The Pinkneys Arms. We had never been there before but found it very welcoming when we entered this beautiful village pub. All the staff and management were so friendly. There were plenty of fish and seafood dishes on the specials menu, fresh from Billingsgate that morning and both dishes we had were superb. We will be going back.
I would recommend booking though as it is not very large.
Simply amazing the food was divine the service from Jack was superb would highly recommend
SUPERB!! - great food, service and atmosphere :) Definitely a FAB place and worth a visit!!
Wonderful venue, great food, great service, nothing too much trouble. So happy to have this wonderful gastro-pub nearby. Sunday roast is one of the best you’ll find.
We were given a table tucked in an alcove - good. Had specified a quiet area.
We were asked for menu choice at least a couple of times by different people as we were chatting instead of choosing. Must be irritating for restaurants.
Drinks arrived promptly as Did shared bread and olives. Tasted fresh.
Not keen on another waiter (or was it proprietor?) moving our starter plates aside to deliver mains.
Sea bream pronounced tasty. Mushroom risotto pretty salty and could’ve taken few more mushrooms.
No upselling on sides. Regretted not ordering a side salad. Portion perfectly adequate but variety of mouthfuls would’ve been a better balance.
Didn’t take dessert but choices looked good.
Overall service ok and food ok - not memorable.
Would definitely give the place another visit to sample more of the menu.
A lovely pub - excellent food . I had the nut roast. Delicious...
We had a lovely lunch - I had the Laksa which I had had here before. This time around the flatbread was beautifully cooked (last time it had been a little underdone).
