We pride ourselves on serving great quality, freshly made food with locally sourced ingredients and an ethos of flavour over fuss. Whatever the occasion, whether it’s a romantic meal for two, midweek outing for tea, or family Sunday lunch we have a delicious selection of classic British dishes available.
We have over 12 cask ales/draught lagers as well as bottled beers & fine wines. Our spirit selection includes many craft gins and premium cocktail ingredients.
We have a large outdoor terrace and garden area perfect for families. Plenty of green grass, open space, blossoming trees, as well as a south facing aspect and a play area for the children.
We had a wonderful pizza, the staff were friendly and service very good, despite the torrential rain, which spoiled the ambience somewhat but the staff battled through it!
Good food had the fish platter with Calamari starter
Staff all spot on couldn’t do enough
Will return soon
What a fantastic evening we had. Two tables of 6 in the marquee next to the pub. Great atmosphere, nice music.
Excellent service with food and drinks brought out on time.
We had the fish platter and meat platter , lots of it too
Well organised, fantastic service, food was lovely, brilliant ambience & followed all covid protocols. Sat in the marquee close to a heater, we all took rugs but weren't required.
Great to be back even if in a marquee. Great staff and surroundings leading to a relaxed but quality atmosphere. Roll on summer drinks!!
Lunch at pledwick was very enjoyable, we were greeted by this lovely lady who made us feel very welcome & showed us to our table which was located in a marquee, the atmosphere was fab, we were then greeted by another waitress who was also lovely too, we all ordered pizzas which were really tasty & hot when they arrived, was a bit cold but there were heaters to keep us warm. 2
Would definitely recommend.
I think the gazebo I was in is mainly for the younger ones as the music was a little too loud I expected more on the menu I thought it was more of a lunch menu then a evening menu
Family meal for 5 excellent service, big portions cant fault --coming again soon.
The beef burger was practically inedible so over cooked
The price of a small coke exorbitant
Long time before we come back
Just want to say what a fantastic time both my friend and myself had yesterday. It was her birthday and the staff were so accommodating , letting me bring balloons .
I have booked to come back on 23rd May for my daughters birthday , I was so impressed.
Attentive staff working especially hard in trying times. Pizzas were excellent and the set up is very well thought out to make the most of the available space
Had Sunday lunch during the outdoor seating phase of the pandemic. The staff were great & the food was even better. Would definitely eat here again.
Great food and service, good atmosphere and well organised, thanks.
Service a little slow On her bottom field but it was really busy and they were doing their best.
Food and drinks good..lady who checked us in lovely and friendly.
We were in the bottom field for 2 hours then moved up to the top tent with friends for another 2 hours ...much warmer in top tent and service a lot quicker
Vegan platter was delicious...will definitively come again
Spot on, really nice venue, enjoyed our visit and will be back soon!
Waited over 45 minutes to be served , didn’t seem enough staff on . The chicken katsu burger was very dry and very little sauce and the bun was burnt
The Pledwick team have created a fantastic dining area where you can enjoy the company, food and drink in a comfortable pleasant COVID safe setting. Well done!
The wood fired pizzas were absolutely delicious and the Parmesan truffle fries were so tasty. There’s a limited cocktail menu but the couple that we had were very very good. All in all we had a lovely day, just a shame about the weather!
Wonderful sunday lunch, will definitely be recommending to family and friends
We visited The Pledwick on a Saturday, we were greeted by a lovely lady who took all track and trace details before we could be seated. Seated promptly in the lower marquee which we are super happy has music now! Your staff are a real asset, they were running around making sure everyone was happy and checking we were ok for drinks and food. The food was lovely, as always.
Keep up the good work everyone x
Food and drink was good, difficult to get waitresses attention to come for orders even though stood around. Had concerns regarding COVID measures at one pint 8 on a table of lads, 2 more joined and seemed to think it was ok to sit on our table ie turned themselves around on picnic bench to face their friends. Staff did nothing about it I had to ask him to move myself.
Amazing experience!! First outing since lockdown and it didn’t disappoint!!
Food was nice but waiting for drinks over 20 minutes was poor but was nice to be back in a pub
Service was good, just needed to keep asking for drinks and asked for pepper for salt
Great day, originally got sat within the marquee which felt more like a restaurant environment so we asked to move to a picnic table and the waitress kindly supported.
Great atmosphere, lovely menu to choose from for both drinks and food
Had a great day and would highly recommend
Fabulous food and very efficient service.
Really enjoyed our time here. Staff were impeccable and food was beautiful
Staff were fantastic, great ambience! Credit to the pub. Great to be back normality well done all x
Booked a table. The place was ridiculously busy. Placed in a crammed tent on a table and then told food was over 45mins wait. Didn't stay as was sat in a tent and had to wait for food. Not what i was expecting.
All staff very friendly and chatty. Service as quick and enjoyed our meal out.
We like eating at this place and it's such a pity that the menu is more limited right now, although totally understandable. But it's good quality and tasty. The pizzas are great. Service is friendly, efficient and prompt. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
What a lovely afternoon meal out! Beautiful surroundings great atmosphere and very very Covid secure! Staff were very helpful and polite good customer service indeed! The whole set up was fantastic! Very nice food and dessert was beautiful! Never been before but would definitely go here again for sure 10/10 all round amazing experience!
Felt safe in an outside area. Service was slow and menus needed reprinting
We didn’t have food but the whole afternoon was incredible. Staff were amazing. LOVE LOVE LOVE
We had a lovely lunch at the Pledwick on Sunday the 18th of April. From beginning to end our dining experience was excellent, from the organisation (re: current COVID-19 restrictions) and service to the tasty food. It was just great to eat out again and be among other people who were all enjoying being out and about at long last!!
The service, food, venue and staff were amazing. We’ve been several times before and will continue to go again in the future
My first visit to the pledwick after living in Wakefield you a couple of years. I’ve always wanted to try it and this weekend my partner and I decided to book for al fresco dining for our first date day out of lockdown.
We were seated at our table by a young waitress who took our drinks order, she then came back 10 minutes later to take our food order; fish platter and a pizza.
She visited the table 2 more times to say our drinks were on their way...still no sign of them.
My food came before our first drinks even made it to the table, 45 minutes after ordering them. My partners food came 5 minutes after mine then the drinks FINALLY arrived.
I didn’t have an cutlery or even a napkin.
Since our drinks took 45 minutes to arrive we decided it was smarter to order a bottle of Prosecco. This came out more promptly than the previous drinks however, it was lukewarm and placed on the table without a wine cooler. To add insult to injury, it was a £5 bottle of Prosecco from Asda that we were charged £20 for. The receipt didn’t even match the description on the bottle.
I understand restaurants mark up wines but not usually as brazen as this.
I would have spoken with a member of the management team but it was unclear who was in charge and I doubt if I’d have told the waitress looking after us that she would even care or pass on my concerns as the place just seemed to be run by a lot of young girls sauntering around chatting with each other.
Really underwhelming and we won’t be back.
This is a brilliant pub! Nice food menu, good service and a great outdoor garden.
