Had booked for a meal here by looking at the reviews and we weren't disappointed. The food was fantastic. We both had a roast and it was very tasty followed by a lovely pudding. We weren't rushed during our meal it was all very relaxing. I think we will be returning.

We had a lovely family meal here on a Tuesday early evening. The evening set menu offers excellent value for a lovely selection of dishes. The kids portion was plenty for our 10 year old, and again the options were great.

We made the most of the weather and sat outside, a great singer was performing- he sang some great songs really well. Food was very average and not nearly as good as it used to be, the food on offer has changed greatly. We all had the steak pie but was very disappointed with it, tasted fine but it looked like any Holland’s pie that I could buy at the shop. When we got a bit cold we decided to head inside to have a drink (around 8pm) only to sit down and the tellies switched off and the bar was shut. I could not believe they were closing at that time on a Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend! No last orders either. No wonder they are quiet! Probably wasted their money with an act. We went to another venue just down the road and they were very busy with a very good atmosphere- I definitely think the Plough are missing a trick, shut early and locals stop going!

Dreadful. Our first two wine choices were not available. The young man serving us seemed to think this was funny. There was live music in the bar from 7pm. It was very loud and even though we were in the restaurant and not the bar area where the band were it made conversation almost impossible. The food was evidently the ‘pre prepared no chef required’ variety. It was edible but not worth the price charged. Will not be going again.

Great meal - friendly staff and really good wine! Would strongly recommend and will certainly use again next time we are passing. Also really handy for the canal!.

Had the Sunday roast and had beef . The roast potatoes weren’t home made but the rest of the veg were fresh but unfortunately not hot enough in my opinion. The beef was tender and plentiful. £13.99 seemed a little expensive to me.

Had Sunday dinner. Great pub, good, attentive staff. Everything on the plate tasted great. However there was hardly any gravy. I asked for some more and was supplied with a ‘petit’ jug (with 50p added to the bill). Would have happily paid another £1 on the meal price to have a generous amount of gravy in the first place ! Would recommend-but order extra gravy !

Th servers were very quiet. They got our orders wrong. Different servers came over to ask for our order 2/3 times. The food ALL came out wrong. Cold. I was given turkey and not chicken (apparently a menu change but I was not informed of this). A server did not bring the Yorkshire pudding out for one of the meals, he said it wasn’t on the menu for that meal anymore, another server said it was and brought it out for us. Staff were not apologetic and seemed to be confused every time we asked for anything. The food was not nice. The meat was chewy. The vegetables were hard.

My first visit to the Plough. The bar/restaurant staff were very polite and friendly. Lovely, clean place and the food was delicious. 5 stars!
