The Plough Inn Finstock
Nice looking pub. Two steaks deal good value. Plenty of parking.
Delicious food; good choice of beer; friendly service and good value - strongly recommend !
Fish & Chips two for the price of one offer was extended to include Cornish mackerel that was absolutely delicious and the Fish & Chips were first rate. Four very happy diners. 😋😋😋😋
Very good - lovely food - interesting combinations - friendly staff and friendly vibe
We arrived slightly behind our booked table. The Plough was very busy so our meal took a while to arrive but that was our fault and we had no complaints on that score. When the food came it was hot and delicious. Thank you The Plough. 😊
Good basic fare in a atmospheric setting - very much a local hang out
We enjoyed the meal very much. Pub grub type menu but well cooked and slightly different and better than the norm. High locally grown food content. Would come back again.
Lovely pub with nice food and friendly staff! Good for families!
A very friendly and welcoming pub. The food and service was excellent
The best fish and chip sandwich that I've had in West Oxfordshire......ever.
It's a little bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Roaring log fire, decent menu and friendly service. The food was actually really good (rack of lamb followed by Baileys cheesecake) but I just couldn't rate somewhere that ran out of mashed potato as a five. If I was in the area I would certainly visit again.
Great food and service as always. The Adnams broadside is unbelievable.
Excellent country pub
Great local, excellent food, smashing staff and landlord. Loved Oscar the pub dog. A bit drafty in the wind, sat a long way from the open fire, but more than made up for by the bonhomie of the atmosphere - will definitely return.
Very nice Sunday lunch for both is us. The beef and sea bass were both excellent. The deserts were also fantastic.
Service slowed a little bit but mainly due to a group of 20 or so ramblers who came in as lunch service was drawing to a close. Landlord and staff were all very good and cheerful which is great to see! Would happily come back if passing nearby again. Cheers!
We enjoyed an excellent Sunday Lunch at this lovely village pub - roast beef and roast pork with all the trimmings followed by apple crumble (the best Sunday Lunch we have had in years). Superb food and friendly first class service.
Great pub in a magical place, everything was perfect, excellent food and beer, I do recommend it.
Fantastic food, fantastic service. Great overall experience. Would definitely return. Fabulous Sunday roast. Beef was beautiful. Gravy...delicious. All spot on.
very enjoyable for Sunday lunch and good atmosphere. Very good value for money
Very nice meal excellent atmosphere will return
Great place for a meet up with old friends. Host and staff were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Food delicious.
An excellent meal, as usual, in a typical village pub setting.
Went along for Sunday Lunch after hearing raving reviews from Friends in our Village.
Food was good, comparable to what you'd expect from a Village pub [not the run of the mill carvery]. Staff were attentive.
The website menu needs to be updated cost wise, it was different to the pub menu prices. The heating needed to be put on as it was quite chilly in the dining area.
Not withstanding this, overall it made a nice change of venue.
Loved the ambience and wished I could have stayed longer. Beer and excellent Sunday lunch. Will definitely visit again
We ate here to celebrate my husband’s 30th birthday. His parents regularly frequent The Plough and Guy (the landlord) was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to ensure my husband had a memorable birthday. The food was very good with generous portion sizes. We will definitely be going back!
We enjoyed a splendid Sunday roast at The Plough! Great service, friendly and obliging! The meat was tender and perfectly roasted - plenty of freshly cooked vegetables and a delicious Yorkshire Pudding! Great beers too! Thank You All!
Good food, friendly atmosphere and service and excellent value
Good food cooked well and a very welcoming atmosphere. Thank you.
Went for my wedding anniversary. The welcome was excellent and the staff friendly. Service was good as was the food, in my case a steak dinner which came as part of a special Thursday evening deal which included a bottle of wine. I have used this pub previously and have always found it to be a nice place to eat and drink.
Great find - such friendly people, lovely traditional pub serving excellent food and ale
Good food once again and a friendly welcome, thank you.
Lovely place great menu Nd friendly helpful staff. No hesitation in recommending.
Extremely welcoming landlord and great food and beer. All in all, excellent Sunday lunch. Will be back.
We have been to the Plough about a dozen times since we moved into the area a year ago. Guy the landlord is unfailingly friendly and courteous, even when he is run off his feet. The atmosphere is great - typical village pub, the menu is imaginative and the food is always good. Be prepared to wait if the pub is busy as the kitchen is small and everything is freshly cooked. We love it!
It was great - food and beer was top - location was perfect
Have eaten at The Plough many times and have always had an excellent meal
A great village pub, as they should be with a good range of really good food, a very welcoming Landlord and friendly efficient staff. Friday night was busy with locals, some eating some just in there for a pint with their friends, in my book that's a good sign. It isn't flash or full of bling or a contrived "Ye Olde Country Pubbe" interior that the chains seem to think represents good taste especially when their food is prepared off site and it's a re heat job. The Chef is the Landlord's son and does he know how to cook a steak to perfection. It's a dog friendly pub and there were several in, all well behaved, personally we don't have a problem with that. All in all a great find.
Food and beer quality is high but what makes this pub special is a great landlord in Guy; the place is buzzing as a result of his passion fair running a great pub.
A very welcoming traditional country pub with tasty and well-presented food.
Customers are made to feel at home.
We have eaten many times at The Plough, in various sizes of group. We have always had a wonderful time with great food, reasonably priced. Guy and his team are excellent hosts. I would particularly recommend the Tuesday night two-for-one Fish and Chips.
