The Plough Inn Finstock
Absolutely bloody, top notch Sunday lunch. Landlord was welcoming, funny and open hearted. We shared the poached egg, halloumi, spinach & sourdough starter and then the Roast Pork & Beef. My wife was especially complimentary and she’s hard a person to please. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, washed down with a excellent Fleurie. Do go there! Baz
lovely pub, amazing roast! definitely a must try in the area
Great food. Compliments to the chef. We went for a Sunday roast as it was my wife's birthday. The food was exceptional.
Fabulous country pub with wonderful fish. Many thanks
Great food with great service, they’ve got a great set up for outdoor dining and being COVID Safe. Would recommend!
The veggie risotto was excellent! Also their chips are beaut!
Food was great! Unfortunately they had run out of chips and didn’t bring our drinks for a while, plus starts came before our first drinks which was abit disappointing. BUT the manager couldn’t of been more apologetic, and lovely! So Overall would recommend, but maybe not when it’s raining/windy!
Great friendly staff and the food was simple but great. We were surprised that the fish tempura turned out to be fish and chips but we thoroughly enjoyed it!
Lovely location, unfortunately the weather was a challenge when eating outdoors. Guy and the team were incredibly helpful in challenging circumstance. Would like to return when a little less cold and wet
So good to get back to the Plough. Great pub, food and friendly service. A true gem!
Excellent service, superb burger, great beer.
All enjoyed in the sunshine of a very sheltered garden
Very good menu choices and good food. Good Covid complience. Nice beer.
Perfect distanced lunch. Already planning our next visit.
A great choice for a post-lockdown drink - friendly staff, good food menu, and relaxed atmosphere out in the garden. Would recommend!
Superb host as always. A wee gem of a pub we've been visiting for few years now.
Very good lunch outside. Good choice and great value. 2 for 1 fish and chips!
The food and service are always excellent here, brought some family whilst we could and it was a memorable night, thank you
We had booked outside seating as this was all that was available. When we arrived, only one of two patio heaters was working, and a diner already sitting there said it didn't give effective heat, the fire pit was not lit, and all the seats were wet. We had booked the last sitting for lunch and many items on the menu were not available. We thought we needed to have burgers as any plated food would get cold so quickly in the outside seating area, but the only burgers left were the vegan burgers. There were empty tables indoors with a reserved sign on, which was weird because it was the last time-slot for lunch. The man behind the bar said no, we couldn't sit indoors. We left and found a late lunch elsewhere.
First time eating here was recommended by someone
Definitely go again
As always, a lovely meal at The Plough. The pheasant stew was delicious!
Lovely place with lovely people. The dishes are also good. We had lunch there on the last hiking in the English countryside right before the second lockdown and I made a right choice. Really hope they will get by the lockdown.
Excellent value for money with the two for one deal on fish and chips on a Tuesday evening.
Incredible food. Really terrific service. Would recommend this place a thousand times over.
Outstanding food in a quintessentially English pub with an open fire. The location is very remote but worth driving to.
What a lovely find. Great character - both the building and the people. Did was fantastic and well presented. Will definitely visit again.
Food was tasty, despite running out of a few key dishes and drinks. Main dishes weren't very substantial.
Lovely country pub. Log fire gave it a real old fashioned feel. Very friendly, attentive service, food was great. Would recommend as it’s worth a visit.
Staff could not have been friendlier. 6 of us in the group and every meal was wonderful, top quality and so tasty. Relaxed country pub atmosphere- highly recommended
We tried this establishment after seeing some positive reviews and we were glad we did. It was very welcoming and the staff were really friendly and genuine. The food (we had the fish & chips) was great and we really enjoyed our visit. It was a bit out of the way for us but worth making the effort. Would love to pop back sometime. Thoroughly recommend paying them a visit!
Great pub and great food as always! Highly recommend.
Traditional and quaint pub. My wife and I were here for a Sunday Lunch and it was fairly traditional food of a good quality. There were good Covid-19 precautions in place which was reassuring.
Landlord is very attentive and knows his business
Waiter was the same
Lamb shanks to die for
Good range of beers. Shame the Adnams was sold out
We went there for the last 2 evenings. Regrettably not tonight!
A great pub and restaurant
Very pleasant lunch in the garden. Good service and very welcoming. We stopped there for lunch during a walk and really enjoyed it
Great country pub. Really lovely roast dinner. Lovely people great service an really friendly. Definitely recommend.
Very good food and thankful for an outdoor table in the patio area! Service was excellent.
Mistakenly added an item to the bill we didn't have, but overall really good so didn't want to make a fuss!
Very welcoming and friendly staff.
Food was good when it arrived but slow- I think we picked a busy Sunday lunchtime.
We would definitely go back.
A friendly landlord, excellent food and a comfortable feeling.
Excellent fish and chips, and a lovely pint of Razor Back :)
Fantastic service brilliant food and the host really welcoming and friendly,we will be definitely booking again.
Excellent food. Owner was very chatty and made you feel welcomed. Food did take a while to come out but when it did it was 5*. Fully recommend.
