The Point Restaurant & Lounge
With an emphasis on a seasonality , guests can tuck into some shareables like the crab cakes served with an ancho chile remoulade or one of the chef’s seasonal pizza specialties. Of course, the entrées at Point Restaurant & Lounge are not to be missed like the strip steak or a pan roasted salmon with Cajun seasoning.
We were seated very promptly. There was a delay in our server coming to the table. Restaurant was not crowded, so not sure why. Our server didn’t come back to the table after our meals were delivered until we were almost finished. We had ordered a second round of drinks when our meals were delivered, but apparently the runner doesn’t have the capability to enter that into the system & it wasn’t communicated to our server. These drinks became our after dinner drinks.

We had a lovely Valentine’s dinner. The food was very good and excellent service, as always. This was our second Valentine’s Day here and we would definitely return. The place was quite busy (as expected) but we never felt rushed or like we were crowded amongst other couples.
The food wasn't mind-blowing but certainly good, and it came at a reasonable price and with great service.
From the looks of the listing, to actually arriving I did not have much expectations for an outstanding experience. The decor leaves a bit to be desired. We were dining for Valentines Day and were placed in a cold room with six high top tables with one other table occupied. It was a bit awkward at first as noise carries quite far inside the room. The menu was a 3 course option. Most of the appetizers were seafood. That section of the menu could use a bit more variety. The main courses had pretty good variety but only one vegetarian option. I was surprised at how great the food actually was! Our server was very friendly and gave us plenty of attention. Overall I was quite surprised at how well I enjoyed the quality of the food.
We were a party of 6 we have all eaten here many times before always enjoyable. Out of 6 5 of us didn’t like our food either over cooked or just bland. App ‘s we’re fine. Drinks good except mine way too much alcohol I couldn’t drink it gave it away
This was my birthday dinner and we had an amazing time. The food was hot, steamy and tasty.
Everything we ate was delicious. The chicken parmigiana was very tender and melted in you’re mouth. The drinks were very creative and delicious.
We brought old friends to see how great The Point is. So we asked to sit away from the bar where we could talk. Unfortunately we were seated in a room with a loud, raucous table. We did speak with the waiter and a manager. They apologized and took off a percentage of the check . We have dined at the Point many times and loved it.
The manager was very apologetic. We will return to the Point again

One of the best restaurants in the Cap. Region! The food, drinks, service and management were top notch! The icing on the cake was the live jazz trio (I unfortunately forgot to ask for their name). One of the best burgers I've ever had anywhere! The brussel sprouts were over the top too. Make sure you ask for the trifecta: Laurie (waitress), Darius (chef) and Nicky (GM) and I promise you will not be disappointed. Ps. Great happy hour and drink selections too! Oh and dont forget to order the Big Cake (strawberry shortcake) #ToDieFor
Hubby and I will be adding The Point to our local dining rotation. Only have one complaint, parking is a bit of an issue. But totally worth driving around for 10 min searching for a space.
Three of us ate dinner, first time there for all of us-all food was delicious! Service was great and prices were very reasonable and we will definitely return. Manager was very attentive checking several times with us on how we were doing!

Had another delicious meal at The Point! well point oysters, yum, burrata tomato appetizer was delicious. Also had a dinner special, the halibut over spaghetti squash, spinach & other veggies, very good. Huby had the pork chop and it was also very good.
Great bight and waitress was super.
The food was excellent and the waitress was nice. We should not have sat for 20 minutes before having a beverage from the bar. It wasn't busy at all.
We've been going to the point for a few years now. The food has always been mediocre at best. We kept going back because we wanted to give them the business and hoped for better. After our last visit we will not be going back. We ordered 3 sandwiches. The blackened salmon sandwich was over seasoned (way too salty). The bread for the chicken sandwich was hard as a rock. And the eggplant sandwich was tasteless. The only good thing we had was the brussel sprouts app.

The food is always fantastic, and the fact that The Point has GF pasta makes for a very enjoyable evening being able to enjoy just like everyone else!!
REAL Italian. The food is terrific. Plan on splitting an entre, the portions are huge.

I would only recommend this place for appetizers and cocktails. My girlfriend got the linguine and clams for dinner and it was a bowl of salt water, oil, noodles, and clams. There was no sauce or spices. It was unbearable except for the clams.
My friend & I sat on the patio on a warm summer night for happy hour. We had Tequila Mockingbirds ( loved the name) & the board of food to pick on. The drinks were delicious, food good, waiter super cute & attentive:)
It was fun. Not cheap, but that’s ok.

Awesome margherita pizza, gluten free! Pasta and clams had more clams than pasta. Usually reversed. Great drink options.
For anyone over 50, on a Saturday night after 7:30, this is a loud, noisy spot if you want a dinner with good service and atmosphere for good conversation. Music and noise is too much. Dine before 6:30 or sit outside
The Point is a pleasant dining experience. There was minor confusion with the wait staff though we were doubly waiting on rather than ignored. One entree was served on a burnt roll. That was sent back and it did take a few minutes for the replacement roll. The chicken parm was a disappointment. My rule of thumb- don’t order Italian food in a non-Italian restaurant.
We have enjoyed The Point for several years. The menu changes periodically and they almost always have specials. Their bar, run by Elaine, is always a treat!

No friendly greeting from the hostess, a delivery was being made next to our table, no offer of lemon in our water, French fries and raw slices of jalapeños on top of my mussels appetizer ( very strange for me), fried chicken dinner special that was a plate of sadness. I got bottled beer because I didn’t want little bits of gunk in my draft. Our waitress was very nice and I still tipped 20 percent so she didn’t have to suffer too. My wife liked her plate, I can’t remember the name of it (salad bass). I eat out often and I rarely complain, so whe I pan a place they probably deserve it. I know that I didn’t want to go back, but my wife wants to try again
I took my daughter and girlfriend there for a celebratory dinner following my daughter's graduation. Excellent service, great food. The truffle burger was superb! As was the s'mores bread pudding.
Fabulous service from Nick and the staff!! Attentive and friendly without being overbearing - just the right tone. Nick's wine recommendations paired exceptionally well with our entrees. The risotto fritters were some of the very best we've ever had and we lived in Italy for four years and have dined at exceptional restaurants in California, NYC, Europe, Asia, etc...wonderful appetizer. The steak with gorgonzola gnocchi was superb and was even exceptional when reheated for lunch the next day. What a wonderful find!!!!! Will be a "go to" choice for all our trip to the Albany area.

We were a large party, but seated right next to live music and could barely hear each other. Specials sounded interesting, but were no longer available when server took the order.The food, once correct, was good. Service was spotty and slow. Incorrect temperatures on the steaks ordered, the round of drinks removed for the inconvenience was appreciated. Drink list was extensive, but quality of cocktails was inconsistent; I assume the recipes were not followed by all of the bar staff. There are a lot of positives (good menu items, creative cocktails, friendly staff), but each was marred by execution errors.

We consider The Point as our neighborhood special occasion place. Birthdays, out of town company, holidays, anything to celebrate, we go there. They always have a great cocktail list, wine and beer selections. The menu standards sandwiches , pizzas and salad are excellent for a light dinner. A full menu is also excellent. I recently had their version of surf and turf, streak with lobster mac and cheese. It came with roasted asparagus. I took the mac and cheese home it was very good the next day. They have a big cake dessert which is wonderful to share with a group.
