Nice atmosphere and service was good. Food could be better I had salmon to start which was very small and not worth the price and main was monkfish which was chewy. There is better food and value to be had elsewhere in Marylebone.
Such a lovely quiet and calm environment for breakfast. Food was lovely and the service was good. If i was to visit London again it would definitely be somewhere i would return to.
We went there for a breakfast, we had a table for 5. Service was slow, it took agesfit our teas & coffee to arrive. The food was of a fair standard, nothing special but I felt it quite expensive for what had.
A really lovely lunch. The food is excellent and the staff friendly and providing very good service. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to others.
Beautiful space with a real cosy atmosphere. The staff are very attentive and make your meal really special. The set menu is always varied and caters for all tastes. Main menu is often reflective of the season and again varied in it’s content. Looking forward to my next visit.
This is the second time I have been to the Potting Shed and the service and ambience are excellent. The food is good quality and the staff attentive and always on hand in case you need anything.
The service in this neighbourhood restaurant is good, good wine list, good ambience. What I don't understand is how the food can be so changeable and sometimes you wonder if the chef enjoys cooking?
There was nothing wrong with the Potting Shed ( although their fish was obviously frozen) but it lacked soul. Too mechanical including the waiting staff.
Been here before - but Friday was a little disappointing. Had the fish and chips that was a bit greasy for my taste - but a nice environment and close to Marylebone Station.
This was a birthday treat, so we were looking forward to it - what a let down. Their website advertises a set menu but no-one was given this menu - I had to ask for it. The bread and butter were the best tasting bit of the meal - the rest was tasteless, so bad that we did not stay for dessert. Even chips, which are very hard to get wrong were not crisp but flaccid. To try and add flavour we used a lot of salt and pepper - but even this was a challenge as not a lot came out of either of them!
Always very nice food and good service. Would recommend it.
Really good service, very friendly and helpful. FAB food! Thanks
Had battered fish and chips. The batter was too greasy. The chips were almost inedible. The waiter said he would mention this to the chief but the chief didn't bother to come to o the table and the bill was not reduced.
I am a regular here and this is the worse meal I've ever had! My friend had the same meal and was equally disappointed. I politely mentioned it to the staff but they couldn't have cared less. Such a shame as it used to be such a great restaurant. I think Kit would be horrified if she saw the state of the food here nowadays!
The food was superb and the service impeccable!!
We will continue to return to The Potting Shed because it’s one of the best brunches in London.
I love the Potting Shed and I am never let down every time I visit. I have recommended you to many friends and they have enjoyed lovely meals with you too.
Can't wait till my next visit.
Thank you x
Food was excellent. Enough quantity, cleverly mixed flavours, very tasty. Live music was very good yet easy for conversation. Nice ambience and pleasant service. All in all a great evening. I would not hesitate to recommend it.
charming room, pleasant staff, unhurried service, menu very comprehensive, food lovely. Nice place to drink and eat and catch up.. would not hesitate to recommend
Wonderful service - attentive without being intrusive. Super atmosphere. Perfect spot fir a girlie catch up. And hand cut chips to relish!
A hidden gem. Good food. Quiet location. I use this place regularly when I am in this part of town. Convenient for Marylebone station.
Great ambience- food was good but bit slow to top up the wine. Lovely waitering staff
Very cooperative staff who ensured prompt service as we had train to catch. Food was freshly cooked , delicious and impeccably served despite the quicker turnaround. Would have loved to linger longer and eat more than a main course but our timings got messed up by our own itinerary. Great selection of wines by the glass which is a major plus. Especially in a hurry.
Very nice meal at The Potting Shed, with the set menu in particular being very good value. Would definitely visit again.
As usual, the Potting Shed did not disappoint. I had a meal from the set menu when
I checked was well presented and delicious. The staff are a joy, smiling, not intrusive but always to hand if needed. Well done!
What a lovely place this was--food delicious. Highly recommend!
The service was excellent!! Friendly & hospitable!! They paid attention to every detail! The food was delicious!! I would return.
Lovely setting for dinner. Service always excellent. Food lovely. Reccomend
Lovely venue (my third visit), great service. Had afternoon tea, the scones are normally outstanding, they were nice but were a little over baked and therefore a bit dry. They seem to have shrunk too, maybe that's why they were not the usual amazing standard. The other cakes were very nice especially the blackberry tartlets. The sandwiches were a bit dry and very average tasting and really disliked the aubergine wrap which was bitter.
The tea selection was fabulous, Mythical creatures tea is divine.
Overall it was ok because of the food on this visit, it has not been like this before. The service and ambience were great. ..... I will be back and hope it was a blip this time
I always enjoy my meals here. Short menu, always a good sign. bread rolls over warm, so bit like toast, but food good. service good and friendly.
Always a treat with a warm and friendly atmosphere and splendid food
Nice decor and staff but portions are far too small for the price
Three of us took lunch in the bar area, in an alcove for confidentiality. The basement restaurant under an hotel is refreshing: well lit by skylights in the front bar area, and darkish in the rear area. The ambiance, food quality (in small portions) and service were generally excellent. But £275 for lunch for 3? The wine was hugely overpriced, at over £11 for a smallish glass of Sauvignon Blanc, and £39 for a bottle of it.
The main was lovely when it came but a lot of the menu was missing ... the purple sprouting brocolli was replaced with regular without even asking ... perhaps they assumed we wouldn’t know the difference ... and the spring greens came after we had finished all our food. The creme brûlée had curdled slightly but tasted lovely enough. The waitresses could have been more attentive given the restaurant was empty. However it had a lovely ambience and i had lovely company so it was a nice dinner. I wouldn’t go back.
The food was excellent with some classics and some new recipes. The waiters were very nice and helpful.
Happened on The Potting Shed through an online search because friends needed to be close to Marylebone Station (literally 1 minute walk away) and so happy that we found it. Tucked away in the basement of a hotel, it is a hidden gem - a nice cozy bar and a lovely little restaurant serving up what initially appears to be comfort food, but presentation and execution makes it much better. I started with a burrata and roasted fig salad which was both delicious and substantial, followed by beef short ribs, which were, in my opinion, the best dish at the table. One of our party has some hearing issues, so were grateful that the acoustics were good. Two great bottles of wine, some cocktails and cognac rounded off the meal, which (perhaps a little unfairly) accounts for the lower value rating, but everybody enjoyed a very pleasant evening.
Lovely place with great service and drinks. Had better food at other firmdale places but service made up for it. Live music was a nice touch.
The Pottong Shed near Baker Street has good food and service with an interesting wine list
We had dinner and drinks at this place. Very impressed with the service, attention to details. This is truly a hidden gem , we will go back.
As usual the food was lovely and the service excellent, nothing but praise for this quiet little gem of a place (and so handy for Marylebone and Baker St stations!)
We enjoyed a fantastic meal, superbly cooked and served by a host of attentive staff including Rene, Suzanna, Thiago and Alex.
