Perfect ambient for a quiet and cosy yet reasonable Sunday brunch. Great chef, great interior design, great staff.
Service was brilliant - especially the nice surprise of a happy birthday dessert. Nice to find somewhere London that has a quiet, calm environment for a meal on a Saturday night, would definitely return.
Located close to Marylebone station hidden in a basement this delightful restaurant has a very good value set menu with delicious food and very good service we were there for lunch - set menu £30 for three courses with glass of sparkling wine,
A delightful place to have lunch. Charming service, great food and cocktails. I shall definitely be going again.
Had a lovely dinner with my friend, food was amazing, staff is very friendly and accommodating, great service, would definitely recommend!
I was pleasantly surprised at how good an area, under a pavement, could look. The decor and ambience lent itself to something akin to gardening - hence The Potting Shed - and was light and airy. Loved the lights in wall that lit spasmodically in different places, and the different areas for sitting to dine.
The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, and the food very tasty and well presented. We did not have extra drinks, and were quite content with what was in the offer, and the price.
Really top quality food. Compliments to the chef! Keep doing what you are doing. Service also excellent. All round a great evening. Thank you.
Food just not quite good enough. Had chicken pie( very average, too much pastry) but on bed of oily ,greasy cabbage ( my favourite vegetable) rendered it inedible
We were catching a train at Marylebone station and the Potting Shed could not have been more convenient. We were all impressed by the staff who were friendly and efficient. We had the set menu and unlike many other restaurants there was a good choice on all three courses. Our food was delicious and well presented. At the end of our meals instead of the usual chocolate truffles, Turkish delight or macaroons we were presented with enjoyable mini ice cream cones with a choice of 3 flavours, a first for us. We will certainly be returning to the Potting Shed on our next visit to London.
Great food, excellent service
What a little gem! We booked for 6:30pm and it was quite quiet but in a good way for us. The service was fantastic and worth the 12.5% they charge. They were really friendly, helpful and polite.
We had the set menu and the food was great. We had lamb and salmon for main and that was the best course of the meal. The crab cakes started were delicious too but just didn’t look as good. Bakewell tart was yum but didn’t think much about the cheese.
All in all, loved it! Will definitely come back. Thank you for a fab dinner!
Having been to other Firmdale restaurants a number of times (which we love), this was our first visit to The Potting Shed. Whilst smaller (in the basement of Dorest Sq Hotel) and not having such a wide mix of furnishings, it still provided that great Firmdale experience - v good food, service and value set menu. We will return when in that part of London.
We always enjoy the Potting Shed as it is a calm but comfortable ambiance and the staff is always pleasant.
The menu items are creative without compromising flavor. An excellent choice for a quick but delicious meal en route to the station or for a casual get-together without the need to rush.
Excellent location and top notch food - been before and will definitely go again
Fabulous restaurant. The staff are great and the food was excellent. Lovely ambience too.
Attractive and convenient for lunch in the Baker St/Marylebone area
An attractive venue for a family celebration. Light and airy despite being in the basement. Very good, attentive service. The food was good though some of the portions were rather small for the men in the party. Would recommend and revisit. Thanks!
The service was very good. Staff very helpful and polite. However, there wasn't enough room for a table to 6. The food was tasty. But, certainly not good value. The Menu was extremely limited.
A marvelous overall experience. The food was fresh and masterfully prepared. We did the two course set menu which was great value. Service was efficient, warm and friendly. The atmosphere was chic.
Service, food, location absolutely perfect.
I normally venture further into town for my breakfast meetings and visit the sister hotel to the Potting Shed. But the Potting Shed location so close to Marylebone makes it ideal.
10/10 and I'm fussy.
Nice little restaurant, very attentive staff serving good food for a reasonable price in London, the Sunday roast was very nice almost as good as mine :) and at under £20 a steal.
I actually do not want to disclose my favourite hide-away... but I love this place. Food quality, friendliness and thoroughness of the staff, quiet and super-cosy atmosphere, Kit Kemp's magically relaxing interior, etc. etc. where else can we find this perfection for Sunday brunch in central London?
Lovely intimate location, great for a casual meal or a romantic dinner
The waitress made us wait 25 minutes for two plates and the food was underwhelming and overpriced.
Lovely neighborhood bistro- tucked out of the way but stylish interior, nice menu options, friendly staff- I think it is easy to dismiss a hotel restaurant but this is one we will return to again and again
Ambience & food was fantastic. Initial service was good however the waitress was rather impatient and cleared the table around the final guest that was still eating which was quite rude
Perfect location, interesting menu, fair price and really lovely staff.
Fantastic breakfast options and such a cute space if you manage to get a booth. Service was great I would highly recommend for Breakfast or brunch.
This is a lovely place for an excellent meal in quiet surroundings with unobtrusive service
I have eaten at The Potting Shed two or three times now and each time the quality of food, service, range of choice and ambience always deliver. The intimate nature of the bar and restaurant is warm and inviting but not crowded.
For us , excellent meal. Greeted very pleasantly on arrival, Food was tasty ( all courses), waitresses and waiter ( I think in fact all served us at one time or another) were very good without going OTT . Sensible value for money in central London.. Have been before and will definitely come back. Slightly noisy table next door to us but not a great problem . Well done !! Graham
I had breakfast here, as a group of three, no alcohol. The cost was £70, and I find this ridiculous, even in London. I ordered eggs and bacon, and when it came out, it looked like they gave me one single egg--allegedly it was two, I had to order an extra egg. It was literally a smaller portion than I would expect for a child. There were three strips of bacon--my porting was £20. The taste was fine, it was nothing special. The restaurant is very cute, but I can't get over the price (and this was a work breakfast, which I will be expensing). Also, breakfast was at 9:00, and they were already out of orange juice. The overall experience was disappointing.
Pre football match lunch in peace and quiet. Excellent service , tasty food and not crowded would highly recommend
A hidden gem... lovely restaurant in the heart of
Marylebone , great service and very nice food as always!
Great staff and service. Food very well served and cooked.
A really lovely meal. Excellent service, cocktails mixed to perfection and delicious food and wine.
My favourite place for a Sunday chill out. It was quiet, but staff were lovely as usual, very attentive and accommodating. The music was perfect, beautiful playlist.
Highly recommended. It’s a shame they don’t do a brunch menu. I will be frequenting this place if even only for a cup of tea!
Booked in for prosecco brunch, (£34 pp for 2 courses and bottomless prosecco), with my friends and family after trying on my wedding dress. Special occasion. Massive let down, as they said the offer had expired and they wouldn’t honour it. Then we ordered from the breakfast menu, a few of us had something on toast (avocado/mushrooms etc) . The portions were stingy, overpriced and I could have cook it better at home. On top of that the prosecco on offer was £46 per bottle! Overall disappointing for all of us- I won’t be returning and I certainly won’t recommend unfortunately.
This is a good place for a catch up as the noise level is quite low. The food is good (great mushroom risotto) and the service friendly. A guitarist played for some of the evening, which was nice rather than intrusive.
Excellent food and wine
The Dover sole was excellent and so was the lamb
We took the lobster and linguine as a starter and it was a blessing !
Really nice restaurant and nice service
