The Prince Bonaparte
This is a listed 19th century public house with a huge wealth of history, and it’s only a 5 minute walk from the largest antique market in the world, Portobello.
We are just a 10 minute walk from either Notting Hill, Bayswater or Westbourne Park tube.
Slow service at the bar and with food. My first two choices from the menu weren’t available. They do have a nice wine list though.
I used to go regularly with friends for their pub quiz, but sadly management has decided to discontinue so we (and the other quiz teams) will have to find somewhere else to go now.
Nice lively pub with good food. Good atmosphere and not too noisy. Separate dining area if you want a bit of quiet. Good selection of tasty ales too.
Best pub ever
The food here is really good, have been a few times and everything we have had has been delicious. The staff are all really friendly and the Wednesday night pub quiz is lots of fun and really well run.
Service and food ok. Potatoes are never crispy, always a bit heavy. I am a regular roast eater so not the first time. Am local so will return.......
Always consistently high standard of food and service
Food is great and the bill is reasonable. The decor is sophisticated yet the atmosphere is casual which is very pleasant. Great place!
Had a meal mid week so it was very quiet. Great service.
Service and food was great was very impressed by the quality and service a great Gastro pub will deffo return
Nice decor and great lamb chop from the grill.
Service was OK and wine list interesting and pleasant.
Appalled to have a couple with yelling infant seated in the restaurant on a Saturday evening, so we had to move in order to distance ourselves so that we could hear each other's conversation.
Excellent Sunday roast - go for the beef. Healthy portions and good wine. Service was impeccable and very friendly.
Food was exceptional
I've been visiting the PB for over 20 years and and it has always been a reliable go-to especially once the summer crowds retreat. The service used to be relaxed, tho attentive and not too invasive - overall good.
The food I would have described as modern British - a good mix of worldly goods that would fill your heart just so.
On my last visit none of these attributes were in sight - the first sign was the empty tables at 13:00 - usually this place is heaving from 11:00 on a Saturday morning - the waitress was passive aggressive - she made me feel guilty whenever I wanted something - at some point I had to get up to order my food.
And when the food came it was cold - my squid looked half cooked and so did my prawns.
I consoled myself with a fair amount of Guinness after that! This pub is a bastion of the area - please don't let it dies because somebody does not have the experience!
If anyone at PB is reading this - I love your pub!
I just didn't appreciate the sloppy service and half measure food!
We booked for the quiz and sampled the menu beforehand. The prices are a little on the high side and I think a service charge is a little cheeky when you’ve walked up to a bar to order; however my robata bavette steak was very tasty (expensive on its own though). Good wine list and a good seslection of beer.
Loved the set up, very open and lots of light. Food was great, drinks too. Staff very friendly. Regular stop off
A pleasant and comfortable pub. Service a bit slow. The food we ordered was tasty and was the correct amount. However, a bit pricey.
Staff were lovely and helpful but Quiz night was disturbing
Fantastic food and exceptional service! Highly recommend.
Top notch as always
Totally gorgeous Sunday roast. Literally one of the best I have ever had!! The meat was really good quality and the roast spuds and gravy were top notch. This will be my new local from now on.
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Happy.
Looking forward to working my way through the menu.
Very nice pub food. Very good service. Reasonably priced.
Had a lovely evening at the Bonaparte. The food was great, ambience nice, stylish and yet uncluttered. Good wine list too. Staff attentive, but not hussly. Would highly recommend ...
Old boys Xmas Dinner was great. Thanks all
Food, service and atmosphere top class as always!
Best Sunday lunch venue in London imo
Great little pub in the back streets of Notting Hill. We were given one of their lovely booth tables tucked out of the way. The menu choices were great and the food was so delicious.
Had lunch here a few times; but was my first time having dinner here; a party if 8 got birthday celebration!
Wish there were more robata options ...but overall all was good!
The Prince Bonaparte is a really nice pub with a really good Sunday Roast
Good food but portions are really small so not good value for money. Service was attentive and friendly though and they accommodated our buggy.
Great Ambience and service. Good quality food for the whole family.
Great service and environment. Overall the food was good. We ordered a burger which was completely burnt which was awful.
We had very good food especially the cote boeuf and the fritto misto !!!! Very nice friendly people who tried to make our Easter Sunday very nice !!! Thanks.
The Sunday lunch was superb! Delicious roast beef with all the trimmings - loads of different veg and yummy gravy. Desserts were excellent too. Good wine menu. We will be booking again very soon.
Great dog friendly pub. Service is always good, and the menu is constantly updated and interesting. Lovely wines
Great service with amazing food. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Lovely sunday roast and bug portions! Lovely spot in notting hill area and sure do will comeback
The most brilliant staff & food!!!
Our waitress was extremely surly and unhelpful. Each request for drinks/ bread/ food was met with a roll of the eyes.
We waited over an hour for our main courses. Food was ok, but very expensive for the quality. Manager gave as a steep reduction for the meal given the appalling service.
I won't be returning.
Excellent Sunday roast. Service was a bit hot and cold.
The electronic booking system was a failure as when we arrived the staff were not expecting us -fortunately they were able to accommodate us. I had also rung earlier to make an alteration to the numbers so there is clearly a management problem with booking. The staff on the ground were very apologetic, helpful and friendly however. Food was standard gastro pub fare which was ok for our large party but maybe not special enough when the food is the main event. The decor and ambiance is lovely. By the end of the evening the place was rather quiet for a Saturday night.
