Lovely experience and definitely better than I expected from somewhere quite touristic. High quality food, presented well and all served by a charming waiter. Enjoyed the music and grateful to staff for the birthday wishes given to my mother who I was treating. Will return again to try the afternoon tea next time.

A wonderful birthday treat for our guest. Food and service were first class but as we were the last sitting the room was being cleared whilst we were still eating. We weren’t actually rushed but it felt we may have overstayed our welcome. Still a grest treat.

The service was excellent, timely and friendly. The setting and luxurious decor added to the overall feeling of grandeur. This is obviously a popular venue and therefore it is most advisable to book a table in advance.

What a treat! The food was very good and the prices were surprisingly reasonable considering the venue. The variety of dishes has something that most people would enjoy. The duck egg, on a crepe smothered in Bernaise sauce was excellent. The elegant setting and piano player helped to realize what it must have been like during it’s peak period. The historical significance of the pump room was the reason why my husband and I went.

They’re very fortunate that the location assures them of a steady supply of customers; everything else (service, food, menu/beverage selections) was average and m just ok. The food came out in no time, but nobody came back to check on us, or with more hot water or to offer us drink refills. I had to go looking for the server to get our check. It’s also fairly expensive, especially considering that’s it’s pretty mediocre. Pretty setting though!

Very nice experience, lovely setting, fine music, and pleasant and helpful staff. They helped me with options as I am diabetic. It was moderately crowded but still very good experience, worth the time to experience. Hey maybe Jane Austin drank the Waters here she lived around the corner. (Ps the water isn’t tasty but it is an experience)

An old fashioned, genteel and orderly lunch served by very nice folks who are happy to assist with any need. The food was up to a good standard and value for money, all served in a remarkable location where time has stood pleasantly still. Highly recommended.

An interesting cream tea with not only fresh sandwiches but a salmon mousse too! Lovely fluffy light scones and plenty of cream. Attentive staff who checked everything was OK throughout. Only tiny criticism - would have liked to see more types of tea available such as Oolong, orange pekoe etc. Quite a limited choice for black teas which was a bit disappointing.

35 min wait from tea until food arrived...scones very poor...dirty lunch plates ignored on next table.....stale sandwiches..dirty crockery...and finally presented with a bill (minus 10% for dry sandwich and poor scones)..having already given the same waiter a pre paid voucher!!

A lovely afternoon tea, beautiful fresh sandwiches and cakes were amazing.
Only quibble was that we ordered "plain" sandwiches with no sauces/Mayo etc and this hadn't been passed on to kitchen so they had no idea when we got there, so took a long time to get our tea.

The music was lovely, but the staff seemed a bit disorganised with 2 people asking us the same questions because the first one didn’t put anything in the computer. The fish pate and the sandwiches needed more seasoning and the scones were very dry. Definitely room for improvement.

Amazing ambiance and venue, particularly when the musicians are playing. Afternoon tea was ok, scones were not homemade or even warm which lost marks in my book. A great option for a really amazing venue, but food could have been improved.

The service received was not up to its usual high standards, with us having to ask for the cutlery required for our starters and asking to have our tabled cleared after we had finished our meal. We had dirty plates in front of us for well over 15 minutes.

The food was lovely but let down by the service.

We went to celebrate my daughters 21st birthday. The waiter was lovely and made the visit very special which included bringing a birthday muffin and coordinating the man playing on the piano to play Happy Birthday. There was a lovely happy birthday message written on the plate.

They accommodated a change in the standard afternoon tea and the whole ambiance was lovely.
