We had an afternoon tea for my mum in law and it exceeded expectations. We often avoid tourist places, but the atmosphere is worth the price with live classical music and a grand dining room. They also made our mum feel very special. Lovely.

The pump room is exactly what you expect. The service is attentive and the produce is lovely. I personally like the music but I can imagine that some people find it over the top.

My daughter arrived first, placed orders and mentioned rest of the family would arrive in 10 minutes, so that the restaurant could prepare the food. We arrived with no one noticed, this no request about our drinks. And total waiting time was 45 minutes for the food. People arrived late was eating and we had to chase our food for them to come. The afternoon tea set was bad, other food eatable but wouldn’t say it’s good or tasty. And there is no tables with the view of the Roman Bath, if we knew that we wouldn’t have booked lunch here.

Beautiful setting, attentive service, good selection of teas. Too much food for me though! One scone would have been enough.
The orchestral trio provided a lovely atmosphere too.
You MUST book!!

I had the pleasure of enjoying high tea at The Pump Room with some friends while visiting Bath this past winter. I am vegan, so I was delighted that they had a vegan menu for high tea, which is not easy to find. That said, I have also had vegan high tea at Ruben’s at the Palace in London, which I found far more tasty. Still, I enjoyed my food as well as the ambiance, which included live music and would return.

What a fantastic experience to be in the wonderful Georgian Pump Room, with a trio of piano, cello and violin playing waltzes, exquisite Afternoon Tea and discrete service. The closest thing to Heaven on Earth, thank you all for a wonderful day.

A charming place. Service quick and unobtrusive. Food has a good range and arrived quickly and together. The most impressive thing however is the amazing building- chandeliers, beautifully high ceilings and a wonderful string quartet.
Will certainly visit again for a different menu .

The food was tasty and well presented. I had the afternoon tea and my sister the west country tea and both were filling and enjoyable. Well worth the price, the only downside was the musicians stopped playing just after we arrived so there was no music but we were late for lunch and early for dinner as were arrived at 4,30pm. Also I strongly recommend pre-booking as it is very popular.

We booked for afternoon tea at 2.45. We arrived at 2.30 and was seated straight away. We chose to change fillings in sandwiches when ordering. The waitress tried her best to put us off saying it could take twenty minutes to make. We stuck with it and got served in ten minutes. Sandwiches were good so not a problem. Once sandwiches were finished we ordered scones and were told they had all been put away so couldn’t have any. Apparently 2.45 is last booking for afternoon tea, so they just wanted to pack up and finish their shift. Overall very poor and would not recommend. Chris.

Great to have different options of traditional and non-traditional afternoon tea. This suited both in our party.
Great gluten free selection. Felt it was compatible to the standard which is normally not the case elsewhere.
It is pricier than some others but I think that it’s worth it as a treat.
The staff were helpful and friendly just at time’s it was hard to get their attention as they often left the floor at the same time.
We’d come again

We visited Bath as part of my wife’s recent birthday treats, the Afternoon Tea at The Pump Room was also a part of the celebration. We were made to feel welcome and had attentive service. My wife appreciated the Musical Trio playing Happy Birthday as a small cake with candle arrived at our table.

Lovely We enjoyed it all. It's a bit of a tall order to ask fir fifty characters! I'd advise you to change this, or you may lose some folk taking on the writing of feedback. This honestly is the first bit of negative feedback i have for you. The food and aervice and piano playing for our brunch visit -- all was great.
