The first pint of IPA was really nice, had to return the second as not nice at all. The food was only just edible, my battered fish was overcooked and hard, too much salt in children's mash potato and my husband said he food was bland. Menu was stapled together laminated paper which made first impressions poor, felt like we were in a club house in Skegness!
Great meal, impressive food, only took 1 star off as it took too long for the bill so we went to the bar to pay. Will definitely be one of our go to's and we've booked for Christmas.
4 of us booked Sunday lunch. Inside was busy maybe as the weather had dipped but everyone ate their meals and enjoyed it. The roast potatoes on the Sunday lunch were a bit hard and had possibly been reheated as not fresh but otherwise good.
Such a shame. Eating here for years but this was the final time. Poorly cooked fillet steak...came cooked 3 ways! Sauce had skin.....more mushrooms than steak on the plate. Not a £27 meal in anyway......Rectified with refund very prompt and no issues with service. But honestly get back to the pyewipe of pre 2019.
Great food served by lovely people in a wonderful setting. Very attentive and polite staff whilst maintaining a friendly approach.
Lovely Sunday lunch with our friends. The food was lovely.
I had the beef which was described as served pink, only thing I would say was that it was not pink at all, I like it pink. However it was tender and delicious. My friend had the fish and the boys both had chicken served with a blue cheese sauce. All was fab. We couldn't manage puds as we were too full.
The food was really really good, we really enjoyed our meals and would definitely recommend to friends. However it was really let down by the service. We stood at the front door for 10 minutes before being seated. All the staff are very young, late teens to early twenties and it gave off a student vibe. The tables are quite close together so we couldn't help but over hear the constant swearing on the table next to us.
I would definitely recommend this if you just want good food. If you are celebrating an occasion I wouldn't come here.
Great, great food, but a weatherspoon vibe.
Service very slow. We were ignored for a long time until we went to find someone. Of the four mains ordered only one was good. One was inedible.
Lovely staff excellent service and good value for money
Been here several times - great beer - lovely food - nice staff.
Food was great, service was quick and very polite
Will be going back to try other menu dishes
A nice cozy pub for an afternoon or evening drink.
The restraunt was also quirky and had a nice ambiance. But....
Food was bland despite the exquisite titles and names. For example, the "Indonesian chicken curry", was little more than a bland 'bog standard' pub curry with very little flavour. Could get better in Weatherspoon's. And the steak was poor quality for the price.
Pleasant atmosphere and the food was nice. However, my vegetables were too tough to cut with the knife so I just left them. Disappointed they didn't have any diet soft drnks in bottles or cans. They only had these on draught (which I hate as you can usually taste the cleaning chemicals). Nice location by the river. Quite a romantic setting.
Lovely pub on the waterway. Good food with attentive staff. Beer could be better though..
Overall a good visit.
We had come for a Sunday roast but unfortunately the only meat selection was beef and one of our party members has a beef intolerance. We ended up going to another local establishment that offered a variety of options. We were offered an alternative meal which contained chicken but we had come for Sunday roast. On previous occasions I have had good food here but I do think there needs to be more options for a Sunday roast.
Fab food, quick service and everyone was very friendly and helpful.
Food excellent. Service a bit slow for desserts but they were very busy. A large party nearby made it noisy.
I have already written an extensive review when I first went there. The only point I would raise is please get your coffee machine either fixed or get another one.
Lovely food and helpful staff made for an enjoyable experience
Limited menu, however, food & service was excellent.
Would dego back
Very friendly staff, who can't do enough to help. The food as usual was excellent.
Lovely food. The duck was particularly nice. Sticky toffee pudding was perfect and not too sweet. Service from the staff was excellent.
Very efficient service. Pleasant staff and very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place for a meal and/or drink.
Staff were very good, food was served in good time and of a very high standard. Beer is well kept and surroundings very pleasant. Will definitely return. To walk from Lincoln to The Pywipe is worth the effort, nice walk excellent food very pleased with the experience.
Main dish a little disappointing for 1 of the 4. Otherwise prompt and knowledgeable service was good.
Staff were very helpful. Two main courses were very nice but the fish and chips-was overdone. Starters were good.
Gorgeous food, lovely decorated room we ate in, friendly staff , food came out quickly and we wasn’t rushed out.
Myself and 4 others visited the restaurant for dinner as we were staying in the hotel across the way. The food was absolutely outstanding, everything we ate was so tasty. The drinks were reasonably priced as was the food. Our total bill came to £128 for 5 mains, extra chips, a bottle of wine, 5 soft drinks and 5 desserts! For the quality of food, service and overall experience this meal was 100% worth every bit of money spent. We will definitely be returning very soon.
First time I have been here. The surroundings are wonderful as is the food and service and price. What's not to like.
I drove from Leicester to meet my friend for lunch. Will definitely be back.
The service and the food was outstanding. We will be visiting again soon, thank you.
I ordered the garlic mushrooms on toast as a starter but it had an abundance of rich creamy sauce which made the toast soggy. The same sauce was used on my main chicken dish and again totally swamped the plate. My wife ordered the bacon wrapped chicken stuffed with stilton and again the plate was covered in a sauce which was very rich and only needed a small amount, due to the richness of the chicken/stilton/bacon. The service from the staff was very good.
I stayed over in the lodge ready for work in the area. The lodge is nice and quiet with spacious well presented rooms. I ate in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast the next morning. The welcome and service was outstanding as was the food.
We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant on our first night. On the second night we ate outside and the service and food was just as good. Food was hot and very tasty. Staff are very friendly and obliging. No complaints.
Really great service and food was excellent, will definitely be returning.
Booking process also very easy to use
Great food for a reasonable price and very quick service. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family and hope to return soon.
We have always enjoyed our meals here in the past so having read some bad reviews re; food & service I was a little apprehensive as to what to expect for the first visit since lockdown, we need not have worried, the service from start to finish was very pleasant & efficient, all 4 meals were delicious, very well presented & hot, the sweets were to die for, all at a very competitive price, we sat at our table having a really good catch up with dear friends for several hrs & there was no problem with this either, so all in all a Very pleasant, enjoyable & relaxing evening had by all, Thankyou Pyewipe we will be back
Most of the food was fine and the pie apparently was tasty. The chips were nice . The vegetarian tart was burnt. I mentioned this to the waitress but was no offer of refund etc . Was birthday meal so didn’t want to make a fuss . Think the cocktail had tonic instead of lemonade but mock tail was ok . The vegan panna cotta was lovely . Bit pricey
Lovely food, great dining area, really enjoyed our family outing.
Family visiting fantastic food and service
Lovely food and great service. Fantastic location next to the canal if you want to sit outside on a nice day.
