Lovely valentines meal with husband and our toddler. Very accommodating staff, food very good, really reasonable prices and lovely ambiance
Other than no record of my booking on arrival (done through open table) we were found a table and looked after very well. Valentine's menu was excellent and good value for money.
I would thoroughly recommend Queen and Castle. All three of us chose different meals and each of us commented how delicious ours was. The wholefood salad with halloumi was particularly tasty. The service was also friendly and efficient.
Lovely food and a really good choice to suit all ages in our party
Everything was OK but very poor customer focus for Gluten Free. Presented with 34 pages of all allergens to wade through, which had every dish on it in rather random order. A fuss inducing and rather humiliating experience for something I cannot help. The serving staff did their very best with the information they had however and were pleasant and efficient.
Interesting to note that every Vegetarian or Vegan option was carefully noted on the main menu however. Vegetarianism etc is a lifestyle choice - not eating gluten for me makes sure I don't make a severe illness worse. For such a huge outfit as Mitchell & Butlers this was a very poor and amateurish effort. Perhaps the recent tragedies surrounding Pret a Manger may make them rethink their policies?
I felt that I was a nuisance and should stay at home - which would have been preferable actually.
We love the Queen and Castle for meeting up with friends and always get a great reception from the staff. It's easy to book online and the food is delicious, something for everyone. The coffee and mini desert is ideal after a main meal - why don't all restaurants offer that idea? It's one of our favourite restaurants and has a great view of Kenilworth Castle. Jess really looked after us on our recent visit, thanks Jess.
Disappointing main course - very fatty Duck on the crispy duck salad.
Confusion over the price of risotto as a starter was initially charged over £11
Queen and Castle were excellent and accommodated our booking even tho there was no record from open table. Open t able need to ensure that their booking system shows accurate availability which automatically flows through to the restaurant. At the moment, it doesnt work.
We stopped for lunch before the Wasps v Irish rugby match in Coventry. The meal was very good and the roast lamb was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and the portions were good. The Yorkshire pudding were light and airy, but a little lacking in flavour. We will come back again!
Very relaxed atmosphere in the bar area that was perfect for families and it was great that dogs were welcome. I’d definitely return!
Unfortunately, service was slow. New waitress couldn’t provide information on the Rose and she messed the drinks order up and charged £1 extra for something we didn’t have! I regret tipping!!!
Three of us went for an early dinner before the Kenilworth fireworks. It was very busy in the bar area but we were prepared as we had been told that it is typically the busiest day of the year for them. Our table was booked for 4:30 but it wasn’t ready as the previous booking were still there - by 4:45 the staff made up another table for us.
There was a little bit of a wait for food but it was very busy and the waitress came over to check with us and to see if we wanted anymore drinks.
The food was delicious and worth the wait. The price was also very reasonable.
I will definitely be coming back here and can highly recommend it.
We had a nice evening. The fish cakes were really good as were the starters. Steaks were good and cooked as we lined BUT please serve steak on plates not wooden boards.
For the quality of the food it is overpriced, and portion control is at another level!
The venue is nice, but if you are keen on good food then I would give it a miss. The burger and chips looked ok! If you just fancied an expensive snack.
We've been to this pub several times and this was probably the best meal we've had there - good quality and nice presentation. Previous visits have been marred by at times unbelievably slow service but it was much better this time and the staff are friendly.
As always, the Queen and Castle was good. Despite being busy, service wasn't slow and - as usual - very friendly.
It's our"local" and are always happy to recommend it.
Very enjoyable meal, in a friendly setting & with good service.
Food was great, service was ok....thought she tried to hard and forget our sweet potatoes fries and the Churos were long but what we had small and very doughy things.
Same food as other members of the chain, although not as well prepared here perhaps due to being busy. Fairly poor quality of service, table not ready on time, had to ask for bill twice etc. Seemed a little overwhelmed with customers.....
