We had the Sunday roast dinners, one lamb and one pork belly. There was very little veg, one long strip of carrot and some cabbage, the potatoes were a tad under cooked and not crispy in the slightest. The meat was ok and it did have a very large crispy Yorkshire pudding. I would have expected better for £20.95.

Dreadful experience at The Queen's Head! All 4 diners unhappy with their food - also noticed another diner complaining. When I told the waiting staff my calves liver was unacceptable they said they’d talk to the kitchen and change it for me HOWEVER that didn’t happen as I was told by the manager it was supposed to be well cooked and the chef liked to cut it up into small strips. He insisted calves liver can’t be served pink!! Everything was overcooked including fish and chips and chicken katsu. What made I worse was the managers attitude - taking no responsibility, no apology, no money off. We won’t return !

Thank you Denise for your review which was expected. Your husband made a RACIST comment towards the manager (owner) and was generally very rude and disrespectful. This comment held the nature of highlighting the fact that “we are in England”, suggesting that I was not familiar with the customs of this country as I am not originally from here. Obviously, as a foreigner who has lived happily in this country for over 10 years, your husbands behavior is inappropriate and certainly not appreciated. We are happy not to have you at our premises in the future. I will add that by the Food Standards Agency: no catering venue is allowed to serve the liver pink (which you requested). Therefore, this was out of our control and purely of concern for your safety.

Lovely pub, friendly staff. The only issue were a couple of discrepancies with food listed on the menu, e.g. salt & pepper quid with sweet chilli sauce came with tartare sauce. Beef skirt with parmentier potatoes came with mash instead. No chocolate orange cake available on the dessert menu. But all the food received was pretty good and the staff were very generous when they discovered one member of the group had a birthday. Thank you.

We tend to go to the Queen’s Head for their speciality dish of pork belly which isn’t a dish I would usually choose but here it is absolutely delicious. Staff are very friendly and the owner is a delight. My husband managed to knock his glass of red wine all over his shirt and trousers at the beginning of the evening, which wasn’t a great start, but the owner replenished it without charge .

We all chose meals from the £13.95 for one course, £17.95 for starter and main menu. All 5 of us had different mains and they were all good. Staff were polite and helpful, service was quick.
