The Rainforest Cafe London
Burger patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheese, onion ring
Battered white fish, coleslaw, tartar sauce and Safari fries
Burger patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion ring, Pepper Jack cheese and guacamole
Only one menu provided for food, drinks menu not available so unsure what we could order.
Service slow, food not very hot. Better service from Wetherspoons!!
When got the bill was surprised at cost of drinks, kids apple juice £3.90! Fruit shoot £2.50 and about £4 for Pepsi max (about 400ml)!
If thinking of going for special occasion I recommend not to! Save your money and try elsewhere.
The restaurant had a really good atmosphere, and the food was nice but it was so busy that the service let it down. The waiting on staff were very friendly but clearly rushed off their feet. We waited to order more drinks but just couldn’t catch the staff and we had to remind them twice that we we’re waiting for a child’s ice cream, after our main. It’s really good that the business is thriving after the pandemic but disappointing that the service was as it was.
The restaurant/shop frontage appears tired and run down. The restaurant feels a bit run down inside. We got our table on time but had to wait 35 mins for a drink and 45 mins for the starter. The food was just ‘ok’. My wine glass was grubby and the rose wine warm. Generally underwhelming. Appreciate effects of covid and how busy half term is, but the it the rainforest cafe has lost its sparkle!
There was a very long queue although we had a reservation. We've waited for half an hour only to order. The food quality was average but expensive.
Half term craziness as expected. I had gone to a Rainforest Cafe previously in the US and thought it would be a memorable meal with my 6 year old. We had made a booking but still had to wait over 25 minutes to be seated. We were taken downstairs and it was nothing at all like the atmosphere of the main floor - no robotic animals or feel of the jungle, just a basement room for “suckers”. I asked to be reseated upstairs and they said it was full. So I begrudgingly sat down as I’d talked up lunch so much and didn’t want to let my boy down. The gentleman then told me to look at the menu online using a QR code. Obviously no reception in their basement so I had to jump on their unsecured wifi… So after 10 minutes of waiting around without sign of a waiter I found a bus boy who then went to find our waiter. At that point I just realised I wasn’t being forced to stay and pay for what was very apparently becoming an exceptionally disappointing experience. So I asked my son to pack up and leave. The waiter approached me and asked if we were leaving. No attempt was made to have us stay.
Before we left though I did take my son on a tour of the main floor. While the atmosphere was a lot more exciting for kids, there were a lot of empty tables waiting to be cleared of plates. If only more effective management could have got on top of this and people would not have had to unnecessarily wait. Indeed, I could have potentially sat down, moved a few plates and asked for service and I don’t think anyone would have been any the wiser…
Half term treat for my niece. The decor, ambiance and service were amazing. Limited choices for children’s menu and the pizza was over-done. I had the lamb shank and really enjoyed it. The adults menu and drinks were good but I would expect more choice for the children since it’s geared up for their experience. My niece loved everything except the food.
Chaos, but great for the kids! We had to wait 15 minutes after our booking slot to be sat at our table, and the service speed ultimately got worse from here on in. The waitress took our initial order for the kids and starters, but forgot to take our mains until we reminded her that we were still waiting to order. The kids set menu comes with a dessert as standard, but this wasn’t brought out until 2 hours after we had been sat at the table, and about 45 minutes after the kids had finished their meals. As adults, we weren’t even offered the chance to order dessert. Whilst the price is relatively expensive and the food is as you’d expect it to be in a place like this, at least there was plenty of it on the plate, so no issues here. What you are essentially paying for is the experience of the decor and the characters that wander around the restaurant which is excellent for the kids, they really loved it, but if the restaurant is pitching their angle for this kind of experience, they should be prepared to balance good service with this experience which is where I felt was ultimately lacking.
I have emailed rainforest cafe because it was such a disappointment
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Food was brought out quickly and hot. It was a very busy half term lunch hour but everything ran smoothly. It was an enjoyable lunch.
We were booked in for 245 in the start was a little delayed however once we had our table wait to the service was fine. No one was wearing masks wondering from table to table which is a shame and people crouched very close to our table to take photos of some of the animals. I’d also say I always think the food here is very very pricey but I guess you pay for the experience. I just think the Covid safety is not being in forced and modelled to people who are eating there
Appreciate it was really busy, but took 30 mins to order food from being seated. Food was amazing once we got it.
We went to Rainforest Cafe after a theatre trip for my granddaughter's 8th birthday. We had booked and were shown to our table within a couple of minutes of arriving.
We have been many times before so knew what to expect, but I must say it was looking a little tired.... it certainly didn't disappoint though and maybe a result of the recent pandemic.
Service was quick, food was very tasty and there was a lot of it.
Overall a lovely experience although a tad expensive, but we will certainly visit again.
Good food, fun place and atmosphere. Service was rubbish. No interest just did the minimum required. Nothing to complain about but nothing to praise either.
The children enjoyed the fun of the rainforest but the kids burgers were awful.. cheap I'm guessing. Kids pizza was very good value though. Service was not very good although it was a Saturday and busy but our drinks order never came so we cancelled them. Overall experience was good and would recommend for the children, they loved it!
Did not expect great food - it was more for the experience for the kids but the poor service and tired attitude of staff was unacceptable. They were not that busy but it was almost impossible to get a drink and the used plates and glasses were left on our table. Servers walking past ignored it all.
Seemed to lack any decent management and attention to detail. We have been in the Florida Rainforest Cafe and ot and as such a better experience.
Could have been a much nicer experience with a little care.
After reading the recent reviews we went with very low expectations but was pleasantly surprised
It really is worse than the reviews said. If you go, make sure (when you finally get the attention of your waiting staff) you ask them for everything you need for the entire night because you won’t see them again until the bill. The service was soulless with no charm or even a smile. There literally is more life in the animatronic gorillas!
I think the worst part was asking for mayonnaise at which point the waitress carrying a stack of dirty plates offered me one from the dirty plate stack that had been on someone else’s table / previously served to someone else. Utterly revolting and the server didn’t see an issue.
It was weird that there was a microwave randomly beside the entrances to the toilets…what do they use it for?!
1/10: expensive, dirty, soulless. Avoid!
Was a treat for my son as we came to London for the day managed to get in last minute, waited 20
Mins for table then 20 mins to have order taken, food was quick after this though !. Another 20 mins to grab attention to get bill girl was lovely though.
Food was ok my burger was rock hard on bottom bun so left that, everything else was fine just a little
Annoying about the wait.
We were on a time limit for a show so being seated 20 mins late put me on edge a bit. 1 of the drinks was wrong but didn't want to waste time waiting for another. Also extra burger meal turned up which we returned but still tried charging me. Meal was ok but only could afford a kids meal so maybe adults meal would have been better. Saying all that glad i went. Surroundings was awesome
Absolutely disgusting, shocking customer service from all staff members, never have I been patronised so much by any member of staff. Please tell me if you book a table weeks in advance for a certain date and time but on arrival your made to wait 20 mins for a table to be free, what's the point booking.
Arrived on time for table booked at 3.15pm. Had to wait another 20 minutes So sat at bar and decided to have a drink at the bar. Bar man took our order but then we got asked to our table so he said he would bring them over. This never happened. So we re-ordered drinks again with waitress. Food arrived relatively quickly but still no sign of drinks after waiting quite a while we mentioned to Waitress and front of house that we still had no drinks after waiting for at least half an hour and that we would like to have a drink with our food!! ( we mentioned not having our drinks a least four times during that half an hour) Also no cutlery arrived with food so again had to wait for five minutes until we receive that. (Again we mentioned this twice). Obviously the children loved it so you would only go for your children sake.
We arrived just before a reserved time and waited 40 minutes to be seated. We left after sitting at the table without any server taking our order having asked twice if we could order. We ended up crossing the road and going to McDonald’s where we all fed for the same price of one main meal at Rainforest Cafe. If I could leave zero stars I would
Food is over priced.
Food took a long time to arrive and was cold.
Where we were seated at the bottom of the stairs was cold compared to the rest of the restaurant.
Kids loved looking at the decorations and the fish.
The food was terrible. My hamburger was hard, dry, overcooked and flavorless. And that was after waiting 45 minutes to get the food.
Our waitress was really friendly and welcoming and the place its self is fab, just a bit pricey forwhat you get
Dreadful! Walked out after 30mins waiting to be served. Although I completely recognise the priority is the kids the waiter was unable to communicate appropriately with adults and was extremely patronising! It was shocking, organisation -0, leadership - minus 5, cleanliness - 0! Do not waste your time or money!
Please lower the music or stop all together and increase the rain forest sounds and effects. Look at making prices more cost effective, food was warm, not hot. But a nice experience overall
Overall we had a good experience, the atmosphere for the children is fabulous and staff are great. But the food is a big let down. Small portions for the price, almost cold and very bland. Kids meal was perfect though. Took ages to get the bill and pay.
It was my Daughter 9th birthday, she was treated like a princess, she loved the face painting and the staff all sang Happy birthday to her which made her feel special. Our waitress was very friendly and official.
The service was very slow food was Luke warm
We dined at your restaurant for my husbands birthday, we pre-booked and we’re asked to wait at the bar for our table, we waited 10 mins, when we already had a booking.
We were then taken to our table by a different member of staff, no eye contact no small talk or even a smile.
We then waited 15 mins to order… in the end I had to call out to another member of staff who disappeared, then 5 mins later yet another member of staff, different from the others took our order, also had a face like a wet weekend.
I have food allergies and there was only one item on the whole menu I could order, the food came and my order was missing an item, I queried this and they took it back.
They then returned my food with said missing item so I double checked it was safe for me to eat and they didn’t know…. My food disappeared with another of member of staff who hadn’t served us.
The food was lovely! Delicious, filling and fairly priced.
We then finished our meal and waited 30 mins for the bill!!
We had no contact with staff, no small talk, no effort made at all.
The toilets…. Omg the toilets!! Disgusting!!!
Green, metal, dirty, paint peeling…. It was like being at a dirty festival camp site.
The whole place looks tired.
I even had holes in my chair!
Lovely atmosphere for the kids and they did sing happy birthday to my daughter but food was expensive and not great.
Filthy Totally chaotic
People off the street asking for money
Completely ripped off
Horrible experience and most definitely not worth the money
I was horrified and will not be coming back
Even the little one was scared of the angry gorillas
I’m so sad as I was hoping for a better experience
Toilets where dirty!!!
£90 for what!!!!
Went 15th October
What a nightmare!!
Was embarrassed not to give the boy money who came in off the street
What kind of an establishment is this!!!
It’s needs a lick of paint and a good scrub! I didn’t get her name but she was a young girl and was looking after section5 hadn’t been working there long, what a credit she is to your team. I found very disturbing was the fact that they’re was a mother changing her baby bottom at the dinner table next to us… food was average… over priced but okay. It’s the novelty of going there but that is warn off.
I’ve been to Rainforest Cafe’s in many places, but I never had such an awful experience as today. Although the server was extremely nice, the rest of the staff was pretty moody. We couldn’t get our cocktails (Virgin Colada) because they were missing an ingredient, so we asked for a Virgin Mojito. They have absolutely no idea how to make a Virgin Mojito, the drink was extremely bitter, literally undrinkable. So, we asked for a Coke. They only had Pepsi, but the machine didn’t work, so we couldn’t get a Pepsi either. The food was slow to come and not good at all. Over refrigerated chicken wings and shrimp, very nasty tasting. The service was very slow and in spite of the effort of our server, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. Paid way to much for an awful meal. Never coming back.
Food was shocking, service was rushed even though it wasn’t busy.
Poor meet and greet.
Slow service with plenty of tables available
Service was ok and staff were friendly
Food was average , burger was burnt however. Desserts were nice .
Pricey for what it was
Great idea but food needs to improve
