The Rainforest Cafe London
A family favourite the world over, Rainforest Café is an exciting restaurant with a faithful fan base. Recreating the Amazon forest in all its colourful glory, complete with oversized ferns, animatronic features (elephants, gorillas, a jaguar and a crocodile) and even regular, though thankfully rain-free, ‘thunder storms’. Rainforest Café is perfect for families and offer American Diner style dishes, with a wide range of children’s options which will eventually tempt them away from the lifelike creatures of the jungle and the spectacular waterfalls hidden amongst the greenery .
Burger patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion ring, Pepper Jack cheese and guacamole
Burger patty, lettuce, tomato, pickle, cheese, onion ring
Battered white fish, coleslaw, tartar sauce and Safari fries
The staff were nice but the service was appalling. There was no quality to the food, very basic. The whole rainforest experience was very dated.
Miserable staff- seemed uninterested. We saw our waitress once with menus then not again. Other staff seemed annoyed and at once told us sorry but I’m not your waiter.
Food horrendously overpriced.
Nuggets n chips for kids was cold
Macaroni cheese tasteless and stodgy mess
Unable to cater for Gluten intolerance unless it was a salad as no other alternatives! Cost £100.25p for a 75minute meal!
Several options of drinks not available
All In a rubbish experience and one that will never be repeated! Macdonalds treat you better!!
Terrible slow service, food was awful and overpriced.
Service very poor waiter had attitude just because we asked for cutlery when he served the food without any, food was poor quality.
After that he ignored us even when he saw our drinks were empty he walked past us many times and never cleared our table
Ordered the £17:50 chocolate Volcano for 2 and when It came it was massive it was rock hard and very unpleasant to eat. I can’t justify paying £200 including £20:00 service charge I would never eat at the rainforest ever again.
Servers were all very nice however service was so poor. Our main courses came before our drinks which we had to chase up 3 or 4 times. Food was so so average for the price. One of the worst chicken Caesar salads I’ve ever had and that so easy to get right. Very disappointing.
Food wasn’t great but the severs were excellent
The food isn't great and is very overpriced for what you get but you go for the experience! The kids absolutely loved it! Not sure we'd hurry back though.
Organised chaos best describes our arrival at Rainforest Cafe. The staff appeared understaffed and stressed. After waiting to be seated we had to call someone over to order our drinks and food. After the food arrived no one asked if the food was alright or if we required anything else. We had ordered a children's desert which we again had to ask a member of staff for. The member of staff said they would go and get it, they never bothered to return. We had to then ask another member of staff who went and promptly got the desert. The only thing we didnt need to ask for was the bill, we presume this was because they wanted the table back ASAP as people were queuing to get in. Oh and to top it all off a discretionary tip of 12.5% was added to the bill for the abysmal service. A family member also commented on how dirty the toilets were as well.
This restaurant requires more staff.
Our waiter was a delight, but the rest of the staff clearly display a feeling of not wanting to be there. I did not see one person smile.
Food quantity excellent, all nice: limited menu but great for kids. I feel more could be done to improve service, atmosphere and general links to rainforest - could be so easy to provide links to sustainability or information about rainforest. Not the experience I had expected.
Characterful dining. Great for kids. Prices on par with a lot of central London locations (expensive!) Excellent service
Food was amazing and the overall restaurant was amazing but, the staff weren’t very polite. After our meal we were waiting 40mins for our bill after majority of staff walked passed and laughed. We then left our table and stood by the bar to pay as it was obvious no one was going to come to our table, we were then accused of “leaving without paying” i then explained that we wouldn’t leave the restaurant without paying we simply left the table as we were being blatantly ignored. Therefore we did not leave a tip which you could tell wasn’t liked by the member of staff. It was very disappointing and ruined our day in london (which was for a special occasion). We also wanted dessert but after being ignore for 40 minutes we just wanted to pay and leave. Being a young couple we were given a lot of funny looks but the staff and a member of staff also laughed in my face when I told her the name for the booking (which was my surname). Very poor show for an expensive meal. Will not be coming again. And will be telling member of family and friends about my experience
Expensive as you would expect for the location. The food is okay, generous portions, but it isn’t amazing. The place is looking a bit run down though. Menus are scuffed and dog-eared, some of the displays aren’t in tact, and the shop isn’t as focused on Rainforest Cafe’s characters as it was previously, making it just like any toy shop.
It’s a shame, it has been much better.
The food was beyond substandard for the price. The children set menu is ridiculously expensive and the adult food was worse than a service station.
The place is fun and playful for kids but the cost of the food for the poor quality is not good.
Great for Kids but the food is average at best. Would probably just recommend visiting the gift shop then booking a better restaurant.
No stars deserved.
10 minutes to get seated. Asked bar man if anyone was seating "Yeah" was the reply, but didn't get someone to assist.
Kids running round playing tig in and out of tables.
Drinks menu needed to be forced open as was so sticky (clearly not being wiped between customers - No COVID measures)
Waited 15 minutes for order to be taken - was being looked at and ignored.
Decided to leave and go elsewhere. As leaving lass was on her phone not even bothered.
Don't waste your money on an overpriced burger (£22 for pulled pork one!!) Walk down the street and find somewhere else.
Lovely place for kids and adults, lovely atmosphere, staff going distance to make sure everyone is happy. Good food.
Food quality was average but overly priced for what you get. However, I appreciate you're paying for the experience of the restaurant in general so food priced reflect that and our 4 year old son loved the whole experience. Really great place to take young children and staff were really kind with the kids. Would go back!
We booked months in advance for elephants table for a special occasion only to be told on the rag to be sat right at back in butterflies area. The servers ignored us and had to complain to manager to get our proper table. Drinks took ages to come as food came before which was cold and didn’t taste great. Won’t go again
Music in toliet far too loud
Dessert was dry hard and was not able to eat it for a dessert over £17 was very poor .
Waiting staff never about and took forever to come back
Have been to a rainforest cafe before and they were alway really good think you need to look into this one in London it is let all the other restaurants down
This is great for young kids given all the decor and animation of the animals - but everything else about here was awful. Food is delivered at an extremely quick pace, most of it out of a microwave and for the extremely high prices for what it is, a real disappointment. Also, some of the seating here is hidden away from the main attractions (gorillas/elephants) so depending on where you’re sat, could be left feeling disappointed as there wouldn’t be much to see.
Good was watery and tastless
No one checked in how it was
While the food came out quickly the quality was poor and portions small in comparison to the cost - it was bad value. The server was great but the atmosphere was excessive. While you expect there to be sound and lighting effects the volume was more than excessive. Multiple children were screaming and clearly scared, the music volume in the toilet was like being in a night club. While you expect a bit of noise it just felt overbearing and excessive. As a result we wouldn’t recommend or visit again.
Great atmosphere, kid's love it just food isn't the greatest!
We had a lovely hard- working waitress and she had a big smile the whole time despite how busy it was. The decor is great fun and the children loved the rainforest sights and sounds. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the attitude and lack of effort in catering for children with allergies. My daughter has coeliac disease and they did not make her feel secure in their measures to protect her, and did not welcome her with gluten free options or reassure her. We would not recommend for children with dietary restrictions.
Beer was flat, food was average for the price and food was delayed. My child struggled to eat their food from the basket and needed a plate.
However, the atmosphere is fun and very child friendly.
Service was very poor. Waited an hour from our mains being taken away to our children’s deserts coming. (We had to go and find a waiter). And then when he came he said they no longer had the desert we wanted and had earlier ordered. Food very pricey! £20 for the coconut shrimp which was basically a small basket of scampi and fries. Ribs were good however.
Absolitely amazing it was my partners birthday and they made it very special, thank you :)
Brilliant night with the kids even we enjoyed it , birthdays for kids is especially great
Food is overpriced and hardly edible and the service is atrocious. A few staff members did their best so thanks to them. We had to grab someone to order, to ask for cutlery, to ask for drinks, to ask for pudding three times. The restaurant is so fun for kids and it’s such a shame the dod and service doesn’t live up to the ambience.
Very friendly and welcoming service.
Expensive good for average quality but atmosphere made it worthwhile
Food was good but luke warm. Children's coloring pictures were useless. Shiny surface to paper did not take the crayons that were provided. Although gratuity is optional, automatic 12.5% on bill was high. Not a patch on Rainforest Cafe in Florida.
Would not go back if I got it for free. What was on our plates was atrocious. Absolutely shocking from start to finish.
A table was ready more or less within 10 mins of arriving which was great. Taken to table. However, we we had not been before, we didn’t no how to order or the process. Sat for a good 15 mins until I managed to ask a waiter for our food order. Food arrived. No drinks. Had to ask again for drinks which were collected from the bar. Again if we were told how to order this would of made the process much more smooth. Food was ok. Very expensive but I suppose that is expected. Would we return?.. no probably not. Very busy and could not enjoy our meal or the environment.
Staff were arguing amongst themselves when we arrived so not off to the best of starts and we were treated as an inconvenience when shown to our table. However the “safari guide” was friendly enough. She was let down by her iPad numerous times which made ordering tedious and laborious. Allergy requirements needed to be brought to the managers attention which again added more time to the ordering process. The menu is actually quite dull and the drinks menu basic and very over priced. The food was actually ok but not mind blowing. Nice to have the chef come out and explain the changes he made to the meal to account for the allergies. The rainforest setting is nicely done but other than that the experience is mediocre at best.
We booked this for the experience of the Rainforest Cafe for our children. The decor is fab and it’s lovely how it comes to life.
Food was ok, it’s what I expected albeit a little over priced but then it is London and they have had a pandemic to deal with!
Service I was a little disappointed with, when we arrived we were taken straight to our seats which was fab, from then on we had to ask to be served for everything (and that was with us patiently waiting 15-20 mins) inc cutlery!
Overall kids loved the experience, but won’t be in a rush to book again!
Highly recommend to eat here I took my younger family age 11 and 12 and they had the best time food was excellent and our waiter kazim was amazing, I will definitely be back
Service poor. Food was very average.
Service charge shouldn’t be put on automatically should be up to customer
Wonderful experience for children although could potentially do with some updating.
The food was incredibly disappointing. I appreciate you are paying for the experience, but the food was overpriced and of a poor quality. The chicken ceasar salad had a pool of water at the bottom and the quality of the meat was poor. Overall experience was good but the quality of the food really let you down.
