The Ramen Bar
Despite the website suggesting a wide variety of gluten free options to chose from when I discussed this with the waiter he said that none of the starters were available gluten free and I had a “choice” of ONE main course.
I’m celiac so need to choose venues that offer GF alternatives. An honest view on the website would have saved me a wasted trip.
I left to go somewhere else.
Very tasty ramen in a busy and trendy style. Innovative and traditional appetizers. Prawn cracker nachos and pork gyoza. A welcome addition to Dublin
Food was great .... service could be better, we had multiple servers and had to wait a while for courses and drinks
Excellent meal, huge portion size and good value for money.
Always great food and friendly staff. First went 2 months ago and have already been back twice since.
As usual was awesome! The best ramen in town!
Amazing food and cozy atmosphere. The selection of ramen is quite large and the appetizers were delicious.
Great value, but the basement seat literally under the stairs wasn't a great experience, and impacted service attentiveness and ambience. Servers could not pronounce the dish names correctly. Food was good - ramen broth a little too heavy on the umamai, but that seems to be the western trend. The noodles were excellent though. Top marks for the oversized karaage, correctly prepared with katakuriko, whish I didn't expect. Their 'Japanese' beer (Kirin) was disappointingly the German brewed version, not an import.
Asian tachos were yum. Worst dumplings ever tasted. Really bad service. Would never go there again.
One of the best ramen that I have ever tried in my life - certainly the best place in Dublin and probably even in Europe . Reasonably priced authentic taste - must do thing after boozy night.
Food was amazing, portions were great & great value. So tasty. There was a really funky vibe about the place, really clean and well managed. No long wait for food. Great service.
Best ramen ever! Will be backs soon! 100% recommended!
It has a beautiful experience with plenty of Japanese motives, which are all very fitting.
We had some Japanese nachos as a starter and they were mouthwatering. Very different from your typical Mexican nachos, but dare I say, a lot tastier. My girlfriend had a garlic garlic ramen and I a pork one. Both were delicious and portions very generous. Indeed possibly slightly too generous for those not used to eating too much.
I had a Japanese beer and my girlfriend had some green tea to drink.
Service was not too bad, except for the fact that some of the staff had to repeated certain things twice as their English was not great. The host, despite completely mispronouncing my name off the booking list, was very nice, smiley and very good looking.
We had a great experience and would definitely be coming back.
Amazing amazing food, bit on the pricy side but worth it. Would appreciate beers on tap. Will be back!
Great food and warm and cozy atmosphere. Lovely for couples dinner or friends night out.
I was a nice place to have dinner, food was amazing I just thought it was slightly pricey
We were seated downstairs, it's a bit dead around 6-7pm, the starters, dumplings and gyoza , were very good but the ramen was only so-so and a bit on the cold side.
Great restaurant, just had a bad table so the service was a bit slow and they forgot a few dishes. That aside will still go back.
We ordered gyoza, specifically asking for it as a starter. A waitress came back a few mins later to tell us they had none left. So we asked for dumplings instead. She left but again came back a couple of minutes later saying they were also out of dumplings. She then told us everything else they were sold out of, so we chose some prawns, which were still supposed to be a starter. However our two mains soon arrived but we had not received our starter. When I said this to the waiter who brought our mains he didnt seem to grasp that I was complaining that the courses were arriving in the wrong order. Instead he focused on the fact that the original starters had been unavailable. But instead of apologising he shrugged and said 'its Saturday night', like I should know better than to expect to receive what I order from the menu on a Saturday (the restaurant was not busy). The real issue was was a lack of competence to take the mains away until after our starter had been served and eaten. It's not hard to keep ramen hot, or reheat it before serving a few minutes later. Poor waiting staff and disappointing experience overall. I love the ramen here but am almost always let down by the service here. Not good enough when you're spending €16.50 on a bowl of ramen.
A very good selection of Ramen bowls as well as excellent gyoza and dumplings. Delicious, freshly prepared and clean healthy food. Wine selection is not so good. Cozy environment and very good, knowledgeable and enthusiastic service. I'll be back.
The food came out very quickly and the portions are far to big there was only two of us and there was enough food to feed between 4-6 people
I would recommend here for a casual dinner with a friend but don’t expect anything special. Food is good but service is sub par. We ordered two starters two mains. One starter arrived with the two mains no sign of the other. We asked for forks half way through the main and again no forks arrived. Food was nice, restaurant has a nice look. Need better waiting staff.
We were sitting late (9:30). The food was amazing g as always and we even got brought free Prosecco for Valentine’s Day. They treated us so well and I can’t wait to go back. It’s our favourite place in Dublin.
Nice, vibey and authentic-feeling ramen bar in the middle of town. Comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, good menu choices and plenty of veggie options. Best ramen I have tasted in Ireland.
Chashu pork in both of our ramen bowls felt undercooked. They were not good at all. We left all of them uneaten.
Very good food and nice place, friendly staff. The only complaint is that between getting the table assigned and to get the food served we waited for an hour.
Food is delish!!!
We got a selection of starters and shared everyone enjoyed them.
Delicious, authentic food and fantastic service. We booked through Opentable a few hours before and they didn't have our reservation, which has happened to me a few times. They gladly accommodated us though. They were out of dumplings but the chicken karaage bao was amazing and the ramen portions were huge. Lovely atmosphere a little later in the evening.
We were in Dublin for a long weekend anniversary celebration. We were extremely impressed with the level of service and friendliness at every restaurant we went to, except The Ramen Bar. We love Japanese food and enjoyed what we ordered. What we didn't enjoy was our waiter. We got to the restaurant early, about 6 pm. We were the only ones seated. There was a tall waiter who was busy talking to a female co worker a few feet away from our table. He didn't look our way. Tried to get his attention....he wouldn't look our way. You know how it is when you are really hungry and need food? We were getting agitated by his lack of service. We finally spoke up and he came over. He took our order....and it took him 20 minutes to let us know one of the two appetizers was not available. With no other diners there....why would it take so long for him to find this out? Maybe it was a one off, but maybe not.....
The food is very tasty and filling here, I had the pulled pork ramen with a seasoned egg (delicious) and the arancini (unmissable)- great value for both sides and bowls. Service was friendly and prompt. I’d recommend this place to friends.
Nice cozy atmosphere, great service and really tasty food
Nice food. Service could have definitely been better!
We ordered Prawn gyoza and ramen noodles. The waitress took the order after a while. Then, when she served the food she had forgotten the Prawn gyoza.
Again, she brought them back after a while.
I start eating gyozas and found out there were pork gyoza (I had insisted to highlight I did not eat pork!).
When we noticed this to the waitress, she disprove mentioning it was well Ebi (prawn) gyoza. We had to insist during a couple of minutes, showing her and making her bringing back the plate to the chief in the kitchen.
She came back and apologised, confirming there was well a mistake. She brought a new plate which was finally correct... It's a pity!
The ramen were good though.
Nice and small location recommended for couples or small groups.
We had ramen and gyoza and both were really good.
Service was very kind and super fast
Great food as always - Pity they don’t give the free appetizers anymore, it was a nice touch.
Wonderful meal, great service. Can't wait to go back
This used to be my favourite restaurant in Dublin. Sadly the prices have gone up and the quality and quantity has gone down. This was a great spot to grab an affordable ramen with friends.
We made a reservation on Open Table but the restaurant was not only closed, but looked to be out of business. Needless to say, the Open Table experience was not satisfactory. Trust is the most valuable aspect of this service and to lose that is disappointing.
Love it, great as usual
Best ramen in Dublin
