The Red Barn is a popular beach side restaurant offering freshly prepared food all day. Come and dine in our restaurant, at the bar or out on the patio whilst enjoying the magnificent views across Woolacombe Bay.
We are currently taking bookings for inside tables of up to six guests.
The outside tables are available on a 'walk up' basis.
With the exception of guide dogs, pets are not allowed on the premises.

Brilliant staff and service. Prompt service, our seven meals all came together! Lovely food, a varied choice, vegan, veggie, meat, fish. Couldn't fault it.

The surf resort feel to the restaurant was pitched at the right level, with a good ambience throughout.
The food was really tasty and a good standard, though I was disappointed not to be able to have a slight deviation from the menu which most chefs would be able to manage simply.
The service was friendly although a little awkward when trying to engage. The food is a little pricey, but is a good stadrad.

I was so pleased with the new advisory that no dogs allowed on the premises! We are staying a week and will be back again, the food was delicious, the whole dining out experience was fab! Thank you for sparing us the barking dogs outside and allowing us to eat our food inside without the smell of dogs, much more hygienic.

Prices have increased here & they no longer allow dogs.
It's a shame that they feel it necessary to charge extra for bread & fries with already expensive dishes.

We use the Barn many times each year and always enjoy it. Post Covid prices are a little higher but quantity is good for the prices and the basic menu quite limited but there are 8 specials. Just had a Thai salad with garlic prawns....wonderful.
My aged mum likes the barn for Sunday roasts but sadly none are available at the present time.
I'm worried about giving this a good review as more of you will make it busier for us to get a table.
Lovely to sit and watch the sea especially on a windy day...

Very poor veggie options the mushroom risotto had about 4 pieces of mushroom and did not have the seafood plattter I had before but I made do. The most disappointed that there was no live music came all the way from wales havei g been looking forward for so long.

Great place to eat/drink. Fab vibe. Friendly staff. Had the fish & chips, must say the fish wasnt the best I've had, more batter than fish, but definitely not the worst. Nice chunky chips and minted peas. Had an Aperol spritz which was very weak, couldn't taste the prosecco and could have done with a bit more Aperol in. Still enjoyed the evening and would definitely go back.

Lovely welcome, very friendly staff, food was enjoyed by everyone but a little over priced for our usual budget even on holiday. Having to book worked ok but really wish they didn't leave tables empty and tell others there fully booked when there's plenty of time for others to enjoy a drink or food before next arrivals. Spontaneity has been taken out of holidays due to needing to book to get in for a drink or food. You can't always plan when you will be thirsty or hungry.

Very good service and value unfortunately had to send burger back as it was raw in the middle .
It is a mistake to think that burgers being beef are ok to eat on the pink side they are not .

Still a lovely place. Now table service presumably because of COVID. Wasn’t made to feel very special by the waitress. Was with my three teenagers and when we were ordering drinks the waitress just demanded ID from my daughter who was 18 the next day. She didn’t even ask for an alcoholic drink! Got the feeling she had had enough and wanted to go home. Food was lovely though and chap on

Great relaxed atmosphere and two of the team, in particular - George and Nathan, were so friendly and helpful guiding us through the new procedures.
A good varied menu with a great selection of fish dishes on the specials board.
Looking forward to our next visit!

This is one of my favourite restaurants. I love the unique décor and the staff are always lovely and very helpful. I'm a vegetarian and they always have a variety of options for me too. I'll visit again it's so in keeping with the chilled Woolacombe vibe.

Not the first time we've been here, food is very good, service is pretty good, they gave us a round of drinks on the house after a kitchen delay, which we hadn't actually mentioned. Reasonable price.

Great location, very friendly staff, good service, the food was lovely the only reason l gave 4 stars for food was because there wasn’t a great deal of choice and none of the desserts on the menu were available and on the day we went there was no sirloin steak which was disappointing.

Hi Trudy Thank you for your comments and I hope that you can visit us again. We’ve had an issue with the quality of the Sirloin Steaks so we have taken them off sale until it’s resolved. However, we do have a rather good Rib-Eye on the Specials board! Unfortunately, staffing levels in the kitchen mean we don’t have anyone to work the dessert section at the moment, though there is ice cream and cake available.

Great to be back in the Red Barn. We visit every time we holiday in Woolacombe, which is once or twice a yea. The main menu has been reduced but there are more daily ‘specials’. Food and drinks were very tasty. Looking forward to returning next year

We came here in June and saw the change in direction, which seemed good. It is trying to be more of a restaurant than a pub, however the food, while better than it was, doesn’t quite live up to this. The “specials” are the same now in September as in June, therefore they’re not specials! We had the lamb steak which wasn’t great quality but it was ok. The decor and size feels like a pub but doesn’t act like one. Also, we can’t understand why there is strict seating and table service, introduced for Covid, for those who just want a drink. The Red Barn was one of our favourite places in Woolacombe, and we’ve been coming about 20 years, but the changes don’t seem to have worked. There is a controversial dog ban ( we’re not dog owners by the way) but it seems illogical not to allow them outside. This premises has the great advantage of being in a prime location in the Village, but no longer seems to be the heart of the community.
