The food and service were very good. The Pork Shank was fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful. The Garlic Potatoes were full of garlic flavor and smashed the way that I like them - somewhat lumpy. My girlfriend had a fried mushrooms on sweet potato risotto dish, that she added chicken to. The chicken breast had flavor I attribute to its free range origins, not bland like the chicken that I'm used to eating. The Apple Creme Brule had smooth, light texture and a nice balance of cinnamon and apple flavor. The Tiramisu was rich, with a heavier than typical texture that we enjoyed very much. I like this restaurant and will go back.
The food is always excellent and we like that it is sourced locally.
My favorite restaurant for casual to semi fine dining.
We enjoyed the Scallops. Cooked perfect. Very good dinner
Do not order steaks . The rib eye was fatty and chewy the tenderloin lacked flavor . The wine selection was good but waited too long for service . We enjoyed the seasonal cheese board .
I always enjoy this restaurant because of the creative menu that changes it up several times a year. The steaks that we had were superbly prepared and didn’t disappoint..... mouthwatering goodness with every bite! The ambiance was festive for the holidays and staff was cheerful and fun. We tried some special holiday drinks that were fun and delicious.
We will definitely be back again!!
I like the new menus every two months or so. Like the fact, today, that they locally source.
Excellent local grown food, excellent choices without being overwhelming. Great servers.
Love the Red Oak's local farm to table misssion. Braised lamb & filet Mignon were absolutely delicious and the presentation was mouthwatering! The apple creme brulee was heaven! Service was friendly and attentive. Enjoyed the cozy fire. Great for a special night out or take out.
Delicious as always! If you have been there and haven't ordered the Filet, DO IT! Its pricey but but was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time, and it is well worth the price (which by the way is cheaper than a lot of other restaurants).
Highly recommend Red Oak restaurant. Food is amazing and you are not rushed. If you are in a hurry, it may be helpful to let the wait staff know
First time there. It was an early New Years Eve dinner so wasn't as hungry as normal so we opted for sandwiches - although the bigger entrees also sounded good. We all loved what we had (Tenderloin sandwich, Bison Burger and grass-fed burger) along with the great atmosphere and very attentive service. We are new to the area and are happy to have found the Red Oak. We look forward to coming back!
First time at The Red Oak Restaurant, it was a good dining experience and we will definitely return. The only negative issue was the pork chops were a bit overdone. Other dinners ordered were wonderful.
Excellent, fresh food. Friendly, prompt service. Nice setting for a date night with low lighting and quiet room.
I just love this Restaurant! I would recommend it to everyone!!
We had a wonderful Friday evening fish fry. We have the beer battered walleye and the pan seared walleye. We thought they were both good, the pan seared walleye was great. The mushoom soup and sauted callimari with thai chilli sauce was also good.
This was our first time to dine here and we will be back! It was a wonderful dinner. I can’t think of one negative comment to make! It was perfect!
The highlight was the specialty cocktails. Our group order (6) different drinks and everybody was very happy with their cocktail.
Food was fresh and delicious.
Delicious and elegant menu, great service and atmosphere, perfect date night with the husband. On of my favorites for sure! I recommend this place all the time!
Great place! Awesome food and drinks. Service was awesome as usual!
I went with my friend for a girls dinner. The mules were delicious. The bacon vinegarette was amazing! I tried to buy some! I had tenderloin lasagna, delicious! Overall wonderful meal as always!
From entrance to exit, lovely memorable time. Has become our go to restaurant since
Covid. Thank you.
This has been my third time there since June and look forward to the next time very soon. Great ambience and cozy especially on a cold winter day.
Delicious food with a comfortable ambience and great service. I will definitely be going back!
All four of us had the pan fried walleye. It was savory and excellent!!!! We also had the apple crumble and pumpkin creme brûlée. We always enjoy dining at The Red Oaks!
Everything was great - first indoor dining experience since COVID , and we chose Red Oak with confidence that safety measures were in place . 👍🏻👍🏻
Only suggestion is that lighting be lowered a little bit to improve ambience . We will be back .
Amazing food and service. Love this place and it is worth the drive.
The food and service are simply amazing! Excellent cocktail list as well! Highly recommend! We are heading back on Friday to try out the fish fry! Love how quaint the vibe is and the farm to table menu is extraordinary! Thank you!!!
Excellent! Will be back !
Having heard about the restaurant from a friend, who has good taste, we were looking forward to a lovely dining experience. Our expectations were fulfilled. The food was perfect. The ambiance was quaint, and our server was friendly. My only complaint is that the drink prices seemed overly high, but since we were celebrating my 60th birthday, we didn't care too much in the end.
Amazing food and outstanding customer service. We highly recommend The Red Oak!
Great food, fresh and flavorful. Wine list is rather limited but sufficient. Interior could use an update.
Red Oak is our absolute “go to” for any occasion. The food is always impeccably prepared and the service is fabulous. We never feel rushed. Thanks to the current pandemic, we have consciously decided that when we do eat out, we want it to be really good and really memorable. Red Oak always fits that description.
Really good food and wonderful service. Both of us are seniors and we were given extra care.
We went for our anniversary and never had even heard of it. It was a pleasurable experience from start to finish and we hope to return soon
