For starters I ordered the fried squid and it was very crispy and tasty. For mains I ordered the sea bream and it was delicious. Dessert I ordered the elderflower posset and it was yummy! Overall I can't fault the food and the service was excellent.
The food is well priced and hearty. The portions were very large and we definitely left full. We shared the pudding which was a lemon and gooseberry posset which we both absolutely loved!
Lovely menu and food was amazing! It was so nice I had to go back the next day for lunch again. Staff are great and very helpful. Lots of space inside and out so you feel safe in your own little bit.
The hotel is within such a beautiful setting and we felt very safe with everything going on. Food was lovely and a great selection to choose from. Staff were very helpful, Will be going back again very soon.
The choice was fairly limited
I had the chicken with fries, I asked if I could have some salad with it . The chef put 3 leaves of baby gem lettuce.
Thought they might of made more of an effort!
We only ate there on the first night of our stay , staff were lovely though and very attentive
Restaurant well social distanced so able to relax and have a lovely relaxed meal. Service was excellent - prompt with polite, friendly and helpful staff. Food very good quality and priced sensibly with two different menus. A really pleasant evening.
Really good food and service. We ordered a seafood dish and past dish and both were fab! Thanks
Considering everything that is going on, they did a good job. Food was ok, but could of been better. Decor of the restaurant was dated, but views out to the garden were lovely.
The venue is very nice and the food was excellent , but it was let down by not having enough staff , on 3 staff to cover the restaurant and the bar
Lovely setting, unfortunately the food was not as good as expected.
The ravioli was overcooked and slightly burnt, making it tough. When food was delivered it wasn’t particularly hot.
Great to see the Stratton House Hotel reopened for food. The Brownie cheesecake was to die for.
We booked the meal for a special occasion and Stratton House met our expectations. We would certainly go there again
Excellent Sunday Lunch , food was nice and hot and the was enough on the plate
Booked for Sunday lunch for 4 - lovely barmaid greeted us and got our drinks - went through to the restaurant and were shown to our table and given the menus. We all chose the lamb for our mains which was lovely. Service could have been a bit better but overall lovely afternoon was had by all
We booked for dinner after checking out their sample menu. Our table looked out onto the garden so started off well. We ordered wine and our food as we could see two tables of about 12 due to come in from the bar. 30 minutes later our starters arrived but no wine. I had to send my Calamari starter back as most of the Calamari rings were black. A waiter came back to show us they had taken that starter off the bill at which point we told them they could take the wine off the bill as well because it still has not turned up. Our main meal was lovely so a happy ending after all.
Good setting, excellent food.
I would recommend eating in the restaurant.
Lovely ambience in dining room, well decorated, lovely lighting, relaxing atmoshere and background music. We had pre booked for Sunday lunch and the room was well laid out. Welcome greeting and service by the head waiter was excellent. We enjoyed a 3 course lunch which was well prepared and presented and looked great as well as special. We were asked if the food was ok and it certainly was. Overall a very enjoyable meal and the friendly service by all waiters was excellent too.
I booked though your site - several time slots were shown. When we arrived we were told we had no booking, despite having a confirmation from you confirming the booking!
Who is at fault here as it pretty much ruined Mother’s Day. The hotel or open table?
We went back here to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, we were not disappointed, a little bit dated but it still held the reason why we chose it for our wedding. Lovely gardens and the staff doing all they can to make you happy
Overpriced and quite a poor selection. The staff are lovely. No atmosphere
Third visit for Sunday Luch over past few months and can only say it is fabulous. At our last Lunch we very very lucky to win bottel of wine which we had please in drinking
The food was excellent, however, the menu only changes once a month so if you are staying at the hotel more than a night it is a very limited menu. The order was mixed up on a couple of occasions, so more attention to detail by staff needed. However, would eat there again if I returned to stay at the hotel.
Food was amazing, had the duck which was cooked to perfection. Staff were very hospitable. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Sunday lunch most enjoyable, even better as we won free bottle of wine for our next visit
We chose to bring elderly parents out for Sunday lunch and sadly the restaurant was empty by he time we arrived. The food was adequate, puddings delicious. The staff were no where to be seen!
Lovely service in a relaxed restaurant - Thank you!
Brilliant Sunday lunch - food was outstanding and great value for money
Terrible meal. The rabbit terrine contained pieces of bone and the ‘rack of lamb’ dish was so bad that I sent it back
Had good Easter Sunday lunch, for a hotel good value for money. Staff friendly and efficient. Only comment was beef a bit on the fatty side
Service was slow, never a waiter/waitress around. Gave us a wine list but never came back to ask if we would like wine. No one asked us how our meal was. Difficult to pay at the end. Food was delicious, but from ordering took 45mins to arrive.
First of all the fish and chips we had friday evening was really nice.. nothing to complain about there.. saturday evening we decided to eat in the restaurant again and bith had sirlion steak from the bwr menu.. i have mine medium well and my other half as hers medium .. a young lady brought our food to our tables and gave us the wrong steaks to start with and the chips we got where extremly salty when they came so we pointed this out and she was like what do you want me to do kind of attitude nothing got done about this either
First time for us to have dinner and we were very pleased! Food was amazing. Our waitress was very nice. Highly recommended.
