Had a lovely meal and drinks with a fab atmosphere! While service was good it was very slow and took a while for orders of drinks and food to be made throughout.
Will be dining again soon!
Our friend was visiting from Bahrain and was very impressed with the the Rock and Fountain. The staff were very accommodating, the food was very good. We look forward to seeing you next time
Asked for vegetable soup and when it came it looked like it was just a chopped tomato with herbs in it. Certainly not worth the money and we also had sirloin steaks with a Stilton sauce but it was missing the Stilton and it was served with ordinary knives rather than steak knives so it made it impossible to cut, also very fatty
Don’t think we will be returning any time soon
Food excellent but food took an hour to be served. All serving staff very helpful.
Had a lovely meal.. food was amazing 😍. Excellent service, very efficient staff. Will definitely be back
First visit on spur of the moment booked an hour before,
really nice place, service great from the moment you walk in from all the staff .
food was lovely and menu covered all tastes would recommend and definitely return.
Lovely food and good service all staff were very helpful as one of our party is on a gluten free diet
Fantastic venue, friendly staff, food was fantastic,I would recommend this place to anyone.
Food was absolutely outstanding and represented fantastic value for money. We chose outside seating as it was lovely and warm and they have an abundance of seating to choose from. Good friendly service and outstanding food and menu. Would highly recommend.
Very little bad to say, except I'd prefer more chips with the main courses. Starter (spicy chicken mini fillets with flatbread and minty yoghurt sauce) was very tasty. Burgers are very nice.
Service was friendly and prompt. I like the outdoor space, nice ambiance and just feel more relaxed out there in these strange Covid times. When the weather gets colder I'll probably still sit out there but wrap up well!
We have given the service 3 stars due to having to wait 57 minutes for our food to arrive. We regularly use the Rock and Fountain and have never waited this length of time before. When the food arrived we did admit the 57 minutes had been worth the wait. However the wait may have put others off had it been there first visit. We have booked for our November catch up. Staff are always friendly and our waitress was excellent especially as it was her first day.
It was great to be back and we were thrilled you had survived the Pandemic.
Great country pub grub. Not a quick lunch, 3/4 hour wait. But for a catch up with friends it's ok.
Two courses £14. Good choice of mains we had the fish, burger and lasagne. Excellent. The went for orange and passionfruit cheesecake, but came out as strawberry, which we ate anyway and was delicious.
Helpful staff, lovely food and calm atmosphere. Great dining experience.
Beautiful food, quality and quantity 👌 the prices are really reasonable and delicious food.
Had seabass - flesh fine but skin not at all crispy. Potatoes were listed as roasted - they weren't they were really just overcooked boiled potatoes. Sister had veg curry - v tomato tasting - not what you'd really call a curry. Rice was like boil in the bag overcooked. Chips v nice though.
Had lemon meringue tart for desert - nothing special. Thin layer of lemon underneath the meringue.
V unlikely that I would eat there again. Disappointed.
Excellent service, as usual. Good food choice, great value. Always a really enjoyable atmosphere.
Very atmospheric place, lovely staff and great food
Had a wonderful meal with the family as always the food was all home cooked and tasted delicious. The staff were brilliant as well. The 2 courses for £12 is excellent value and we were very happy this was available on weekends as well. Will definitely be back.
Amazing, great quality pub food. We were served so quickly, and the staff were all friendly, attentive, and could not have been more helpful to us on our first visit, we’ll be back very soon!
Stopped in for dinner. Garlic Mushroom starter had no garlic, medium rare steak was medium at best. Service was none existent. Had to go to the bar repeatedly to order drinks as poor or no table service. Really disappointed….
Overcooked inedible burger, a replacement was offered however this was 15 mins after our mains arrived and we had already waited half an hour for them after having our starters cleared. The starters were ok. The waitress did take the burger off our bill. We then waited over half an hour for our desserts. Whilst we didn’t want a rushed evening 3 hours for a 3 course meal was rather excessive, the food was adequate at best and not the birthday celebration we were anticipating we won’t be returning any time soon.
Food not great . Hit and miss some meals were lovely others were not specifically the ribs and chicken I don’t think it was quality meat used as chicken was very rubbery and ribs were fatty and little meat... I would
Compare to the chicken at weatherspoons or Iceland . Kids meals were over cooked and again very dry as were the chicken wing starter .
However the belly pork sea bass and pasta dishes were perfect . As were the mussels
Staff lovely service a little slow but to be expected when busy and setting was lovely .
Ordered steak to be medium when it was received totally overdone bordering on burnt. Every meal we looked at looked overdone
Very good meal, 2 courses for £12,.
Great service and good food at a reasonable price!
Good quality food. Generous portions. Service good.
Always love visiting the rock and fountain, food is excellent quality and very reasonably priced, staff so friendly and helpful
Great food, reasonably priced and prompt and polite service. Would definitely recommend.
Do not go on a party night. We waited over an hour for our main course. One meal came out cold. Good selection of meals. We will try again in the future.
Not impressed! Overpriced compared to other local establishments. Extra drinks at the table, service really slow! Really noisy, struggled with table conversation! Thought it would be better with the new owners, but won’t be returning!
Menu was exciting and interesting but all of it was overcooked. The crevattes were dry and rubbery and the burger whilst delicious was very dry. Such a shame. They handled the complaint well and discounted our bill
Lovely meal, had a long wait due to a party, but that was explained before we ordered, so was fine. My only quibble would be we did feel a little rushed to order and the plate clearance, but that’s a minor quibble after an overall enjoyable meal. Would recommend.
Absolutely brilliant service. The girls waiting on you are can’t do enough for you and are so polite and professional in their role. This stuck me straight away as soon as I arrived.
The main meal was very tasty and hot on arrival to my table which I was thankful for. The dessert let the meal down as I found the meringue hard like if it had come out of a fridge that was too cold for its storage, but overall the meal, the staff and it’s surroundings was a wonderful experience.
Thank you so much for a good time.
Food was beautiful. Service was amazing, couldn’t fault it.
Menu, service, food, atmosphere and good value considering the quality. Staff were great. The best steak I have had in years!
Good food lovely staff who were very kind to my husband who has dementia, will definitely be going back
We had the 2 for £12 deal and it wasn’t great. Soup you could stand a spoon up in and a very dry Angus Burger
Food was excellent, we ate off the set menu and it was great value for money. Only negative was we were seated on a table very near to the bar where people were waiting to be seated, hovering around our table which was quite loud and uncomfortable.
Food gorgeous, staff so lovely , service brilliant
Very good lunch and good value with helpful friendly staff
