The Rock Inn, Haytor Vale Ratings and Reviews
All the food is prepared and cooked on site and the standard is exceptional. They use real napkins not flimsy 'tissues' and the glasses and cutlery are always sparkling clean. The atmosphere is warm and comforting with open fires and dark wood panelling throughout. Love it!
We had a special dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and a family member's 85th birthday. Our first time in the new conservatory and it's lovely. The decor complements the original pub beautifully. Food is certainly 'fine dining' rather than pub grub these days. I enjoyed the Monkfish very much indeed! Highly recommended.
What a find! Chose the place after reading good reviews and not disappointed. Despite being a busy Sunday lunchtime the staff were lovely, friendly & professional. Roast beef was delicious with sensible portion sizes and other dishes were tasty and well presented without being pretentious. Calm and relaxed atomoshere. Lovely location. Would definitely go there again
Small family meet up for a special birthday lunch mid week. The restaurant was well prepared and looked comfortable, plenty of well trained staff. An interesting place to visit and as the weather was awful we were glad to be allowed to relax in the snug afterwards with our coffees. All in all a lovely experience
Nice, informal and friendly. Good food, STP was excellent. Great location for walks on Dartmoor. Vegetarian options, though more would be good. Dog friendly which was okay for us (we like dogs) but not so good if you have allergies or don’t like dogs around when you are eating.
