Overlooking some of the city’s finest architecture, including the Roman Baths, Pump Room and Bath Abbey, the restaurant’s central location and proximity to Bath’s main attractions makes it the perfect spot for dining. Whether it’s a morning coffee stop, a light lunch or dinner following a busy day’s shopping and sightseeing, or a special event, you can enjoy our seasonal menus, tour experiences and private dining.
The restaurant is a short walk from both Bath Spa train and bus station as well as a number of central car parks.
Nice food. Friendly staff. Slightly expensive but very central location.
Great place to have lunch with kids. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Great location for a visit to the Roman Baths!
Nice, well presented and tasty food. Not a lot of ambiance but that was largely down to be seated in a booth near the bar.
Highly recommend, good menu with plenty to suit everyone in our group, Teenage daughters birthday and she had pancakes, good service, will visit again
Staff were very nice my dad is disabled and the service was brilliant. Food was really nice 👍 had a brilliant time would definitely come back staff we amazing
As always the food & service was very good , I come to Bath around four times a year & always go to the Roman Baths for a meal or snack , staff make a pleasurable experience
My booking was for last Friday at 9am. The doors were locked up to 15 minutes late. With reference to this, I saw members of the team talking for long time and not acknowledging me. The reason I did an early appointment was because of my hubby -diabetic. We were disappointed in the quality of the breakfast and we did not feel relaxed, under these circumstances. We felt rushed and customer satisfaction is poor. Waiter informed me we have no bookings, from the tourist information I explained I booked it in November, as a breakfast package (Xmas gift for hubby) The price was not fair, and food was bland. Pancakes were not served with fruit and yogurt and it stated this on the menu. Quality of English breakfast needs updating
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. I understand that as soon as one of the team members saw you waiting, he opened the doors immediately & said that although we didn't have your booking, it wasn't a problem & to take a seat. The pancakes are offered with either bacon & maple syrup OR berries & yogurt, as the waitress recalls you asked for pancakes without bacon, & so you were served them simply with syrup. We are sorry that you were disappointed with your breakfast experience.
We loved everything about this restaurant...the food, the quality, ambiance, location and our server Charlotte. Highly recommend if you are visiting Bath.
We were early but that didn't matter and we were not rushed at all. Very nice staff and good food.
Booked a table in advance but wasn’t told that it would be upstairs which I wasn’t very keen on. Perhaps you could specify table location on booking or ask for preference?
Booked as part of the torch light tour of the Roman Baths and walked straight across into the resturant. Beautifully lit and lovely and warm. Excellent choices on the set menu. I had the soup, pie and crumble. All cooked to perfection and piping hot. Waiters on the ball and very attentive. Came outside and there is a lovely lit christmas tree next to the Cathedral, perfect end to a lovely day in Bath Christmas shopping
The food was good, as was the service from our two waiters, BUT, we were given a table on the top floor, up a narrow, steep staircase. My mother is 81 and the rest of the tables had elderly people sat at them, whilst downstairs the customers were a lot younger and more mobile. This also made it more difficult to use the bathroom facilities that were situated in the basement. Please think when seating your customers and then it would have been a far better experience.
Excellent service, the meal was good but we asked for the eggs to be turned over, they were, but came to us rock hard, otherwise ok
Booked for 1730 because we fancied items listed on the
Brunch Menu, stated as being available all-day.
This was not true? We would have settled for Pancakes but these were not available?
One of my favourite places in Bath. I love it! The food is always great and the service is welcoming, it’s cute, cosy and has a heritage feel
Really impressed with the service at this restaurant. My Gluten Free dietary requirements were not an issue. The waiter told me to choose from the menu and the chef would do his best to create a meal for me. What a truly positive attitude. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Highly recommended.
We ordered from the Set Menu, the food was tasty, the service was great and the staff lovely! The only thing I will say is for a Saturday night (7pm booking) it was particularly quiet. It was perfect for our occasion however it may not be the best if you want more of a buzzy atmosphere.
Lovely restaurant in Bath, good location, clean and inviting.staff were polite and tentative.
First two courses were excellent the dessert slightly not up to the same standard but still good. Service very good, we would definitely recommend to friends.
Memorable evening. We had a lovely meal. A bit chaotic at the start as service messed up the set menu cards. However staff we're amazing, nothing seemed too much too ask. Even for my dairy intolerant partner they made something special. Amazing experience. We will definitely recommend and be back on our next visit to Bath.
I purchased the Torchlit Roman Baths experience with a three course meal at the Roman Bath Kitchen for my partners birthday.
We had an amazing time. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, the service was fantastic as was the food. Unfortunately we live to far away to return but if I ever visit Bath again I would revisit this restaurant.
This was a beautiful way to finish a tour of the Roman Baths. We went as part of the Torchlight package. Perfectly located across the street, the food was quite delicious and the staff was very attentive. I would definitely go again
Cafe is lovely and the staff very helpful and accommodating (the other person I was dining with was late due to traffic but this wasn't an issue for them).
The food was delicious and very reasonable prices.
The staff is very helpful and very professional. The place was very cosy and welcoming. The food was great. I would definitely recommend to others.
Really nice experience - I would certainly go back! Staff were great and food was localy
We visited as part of a Roman baths package - although the set menu was limited we were allowed to switch with the standard menu (there was no need to, the set menu looked good). The portions were big, the food was tasty. All in all we enjoyed our dinner here.
We had a prebooked set menu through the Torchlit Roman Baths tour. The food was exceptional and the staff and kitchen were very accommodating to make any changes we required. Thoroughly recommend this venue
First class food and service. Friendly helpful staff who had time for us.
Hello Madam, Sir,
I’m quite surprised about the below email as we had confirmation on the Sunday by one of your team member that no reservation existed by this name on this date.
As such, we weren’t able to attend this diner and had to come back on the day after to visit the Roman Bath.
Could you provide me with explanations and please provide us with a refund? If needed, I will be more than happy to present you with any document you might need to process this demand (is. tickets of the day after visit, timing of our demand, etc).
Thank you in advance for your return,
The three course meal after the visit to the Roman Bath was very nice, staff were friendly and quick.
I wished we had known that we couldn't get back into the Roman Bath to actually see the torchlit bath.
Maybe you'd want to inform future clients who also book the Torchlit Tour together with dinner that it might make sense to go for an early dinner and visit the Bath afterwards rather than how your webpage suggests (museum, tour, dinner).
Friendly staff, we were late but still let us take a seat.
you got a special menu or could take for the same budget on the normal menu.
The Roman Baths Kitchen was part of the Roman Baths Torchlight Tour so we had a limited menu. However, the food was tasty and good portion size. Staff very friendly and efficient.
Overall a nice experience, but we were sat at a very small table for a group of 6 with zero elbow room & so small that the boards the starters came on, couldn’t fit on the table.
They also had a few things on the set menu that were sold out as well as a few beers.
Lovely setting, nice breakfast menu, reasonably priced
Sat outside on their patio on a beautiful summer day. Made for an even more enjoyable dining experience
Setting, ambience, service all very good. Menu was limited. A few more additions to menu needed.
Service began quick and efficient. Food excellent. By the end of the evening front of house staff were nowhere to be seen. Three tables were waiting for their bill. Only one minor member of staff was helpful and explained the reason for the delay.
Lovely food, even on the set menu. Friendly and welcoming staff and good value for money. The only issue was the temperature. The air con was on and made the restaurant very cold. It was turned off when we asked but it didn't make for a very comfortable evening out.
We initially sat outside as the weather was warm, and the young guy serving us was delightful, when it turned a bit chilly we moved inside, and the service became rather lacklustre, and the place was only half full so it wasn't due to capacity. The mint tea ordered was undrinkable, and I wanted a good 10-15 mins to get it resolved, and in the end just ordered the bill. The food was just ok, wouldn't rush back, or recommend sadly :(
Excellent value, very good service, great location right opposite the baths, did the tour and walked straight across to our reserved table, no fuss or drama on a Friday night, would recommend to all as a package, also liked the option of reverting to main menu if I wanted
