Lovely chilled Sunday lunch with a table for 2 in the window. We ordered the confit duck and porchetta. Both meals were executed perfectly and we cleared our plates. Has a lovely feel to the place and service was attentive. Can’t wait to visit again!
This is an exceptional place, which is the equivalent quality of a good restaurant in Paris or the smarter or cooler parts of London. They do great cocktails too.
The decor and rooms (two) are very welcoming - warm in winter with a REAL fire!
I recommend it highly.
A really fun night out with delicious food, loved the Hispi cabbage. AND they have a kids menu, but there were no other children in the restaurant x I WISH we had something like The Rose closer to home x
Great staff, amazing food and a cool little vibe too. Great cocktail list (although we stuck to wine). Would definitely recommend.
We had a lovely lunch with 2 young children, the staff was great and the food delicipis
Fabulous experience. Lovely decor and ambience . Warm and inviting. Food was delicious , would recommend the cod and the chiffon cake. Prompt service and amiable staff. High end but reasonable value .
Its the first time we had eaten in the Rose although we are local - we were out to celebrate an anniversary. The decor, ambience and welcome was lovely. The service good but value for money not so good and rather mean. The starters were very small portions with little seasoning. The burger main resembled Nouvelle Cuisine, small bun with burger, half a gherkin and a metal cup of french fries. A side of sour dough at £4......
When dinning out you want to feel special, have a good experience and of course value for money, at the Rose it feels like style over substance with a chef that it clearly ensuring good profit margins, and not ensuring a good dinning experience.
Friendly front of house team and great food.
Lovely dinner, great menu, great setting and friendly service
Delicious, seasonal food. Fantastic service-attentive, but not oppressive. Will definitely return.
First time lunching at The Rose- we loved the menu- excellent food (we had the cod and schnitzel - potato rösti was sublime ! )
Wonderful, attentive, service.
A must go for lunch or dinner when in Deal
Eat everything. It's all great. Especially the cod,& the cabbage
First visit to The Rose, and well worth it. We ate early and it was quiet at 6.30PM. Excellent cocktails at the bar, followed by a really imaginative two-course meal featuring trout and Brussels to start, followed by crispy duck confit; my son had the burger. Good wine list with lots of local choices. Highly recommended.
Amazing food - highly recommend! Great cocktails too
Great place, quirky, stylish and very welcoming! Can’t fault it in any way!
Amazing food, good service, will happily return for seconds!
The most wonderful way to spend NYE and super dog friendly too. The food and service was fantastic!
Great food and perfect service despite it being a busy New Years Eve. Well Done!
New Tears eve
Menu choices weren’t what a few of our party would normally choose. So a wider choice of menu would be preferable.
However the food was delicious. The service good and efficient.
Will definitely come again. I hear the Sunday roast is a speciality.
Such a lovely Boxing Day meal with delicious cocktails. The braised ox cheek was the nicest thing I’ve eaten in ages The bar and restaurant were so beautifully decorated and it all
Felt very festive.
We go all the time and I cannot recommend it enough.
Great imaginitive food and a nice chilled ambiance. Would like a few more French wines but otherwise pretty perfect
It was lovely as always.
Great food and atmosphere. Friendly reception and bar staff.
Although I love the look, the vibe and the feel of this restaurant (and I would be a regular customer as it is very local to me) the food is frequently a disappointment. This time, we had the Chicken Schnitzel (a big slab of dense chicken, served with only celeriac to ease it along) and the Glazed Cod - struggled to find an appropriate veg to accompany it, had to settle for the cabbage side. This turned out to be a wedge which was nicely charred, with some tender parts, but tough in the thickest part of the wedge. The beans which came with it were tasteless. None of it bad enough to send back, but none of it giving much pleasure. The service was polite, attentive and professional.
Welcome? Great. Service? Great and very friendly. Cocktails? Brilliant.
Confit of Duck? Excellent.
Risotto? We had to send it back.
The food is expensive (even the Confit of Duck); but their Risotto is a disaster and really needs re-evaluation. The two in my party had ordered it considered the Risotto to be poorly seasoned and of the consistency of lukewarm thin porridge. A great pity.
Delicious food, amazing cocktails, beautiful surroundings and wonderful atmosphere - cannot recommend highly enough. A perfect Sunday lunch!
Lovely space, great ambiance, perfect service and interesting great tasting food.
We had a wonderful overnight stay at The Rose in Deal and also had dinner which was excellent! Great food and atmosphere and the staff were wonderful and very attentive!!! They also had some very tasty cocktails!
I was so looking forward to the evening but it was disappointing. Service was average and food did not merit prices. It just isn’t hitting the spot any more. I will not be rushing back
We visited the Rose both on Saturday evening and for Sunday lunch and for me, by far the best food was the Sunday roast chicken. Absolutely delicious & I highly recommend. My Saturday evening food was very mediocre and bland (chicken schnitzel) but my companions food choices were much better apparently (one duck and one pumpkin which was excellent so I was told).
I love the hotels/restaurants ambiance but I did find the food portions on the small side and overpriced. Service was average, they could have been a bit more attentive, asking if we’d like more drinks etc.. but it was ok.
I would definitely return for a special occasion if I’m ever in Deal again and probably for Sunday lunch.
Both service and food were excellent. Dishes very nicely cooked, imaginative combinations and presentation. Duck confit tender yet crispy; glazed cod superb on an interesting bed of vegetables and sea samphire. The fish portion could have been a tad more generous in size but otherwise 5 stars. Wine excellent, too. Unusual and interesting deserts, again wonderful combinations. Whilst a little on the pricy sice, a very enjoyable experience. Will go again soon.
Lovely Friday evening spent in the rose. Fabulous food and cocktails.
We had dinner at the Rose. The ambiance was lovely, very comfortable with just the right amount of lighting and full of chatter but never too loud or noisy. The service was excellent, very efficient and attentive but never overly so. The menu is creative using local ingredients made to taste delicious and comforting. One of the places that makes you feel good!
Lovely & relaxin restaurant. Excellent food as usual.
We ordered the ox cheek which was excellent, and the other main course was the cod which came on a bed of softened sautéed onions. The cod was covered in a miso glaze which unfortunately dominated the fish completely and the delicate flavour of the cod was lost. We also found the food slightly mean in portions and very salty. The service was very friendly and the cocktails were good. I think the wine is very marked up and that together with the slightly mean portions make for a lukewarm experience.
Food delicious and excellent service
Quite noisy in the evening
Expensive so would only go for a special treat.
Staff were absolutely wonderful - friendly, accommodating and generally lovely.
Food was delicious and an epic gin selection!
Absolutely fabulous place to eat. The food is amazing. We have been a few times now and can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner. Brilliant!
Probably the BEST burger I've ever eaten! Wonderful service as always too.
