On trip advisor this place was advertised as ‘pub food’ it’s that and so much more.
There is so much choice for veggies, the food was amazing and the staff were super warm and friendly!

Great food, brilliant service, very accommodating to our needs ( had to change time late on due to running late, no problem)
Served our needs having been looking for somewhere to dine whilst on holiday. So good we booked in the following night and again received a superb service. I would highly recommend.

I dined here 5 yrs ago and it was fabulous, but not quite so good now. The menu was quite limited and food was nice but nothing special.

Am pleased to say it felt so much safer on my visit last Sunday night
Still feel more could be done though having to walk close to people at there tables is not social distance

The restaurant had a good ambience and appeared to have been decorated recently in a modern fashion . The choice of food was good and I had the chef's special which included salmon, vegetables and a chilli side sauce all of which was delicious. The meal was reasonably priced. Thought there could have been a larger choice of real ales, only two on draught and no bottled real ale but that was just a minor issue.

Nice meal and good service. Only thing that could have been improved was the table hygiene - so sticky our napkins couldn’t be peeled off it.

We booked this online because we were visiting Appleby for the day. The inn was very welcoming and we enjoyed our lunch very much. The menu was varied, catering for a wide range of tastes, and the food was delicious. The staff were careful with their Covid-19 precautions and we would happily return.

Social distancing is not happening
Too many tables
The table where you go into the toilet you touch the people as you walk past
I did not feel safe
Staff get to close etc
NEEDS TO BE RE THOUGHT THROUGH OUT
This is my local and we have used it many times in the past but unfortunatly untill social distancing has been lifted I don’t feel this is a safe place to go to

Our first meal in a pub since lockdown restrictions eased and although a little strange, we felt very safe and the arrangements were sensible and not intrusive. We were there as a family group of 4 for Sunday lunch. The food was superb and the service excellent. We thought the whole meal with drinks was quite expensive but we understand that prices have gone up and it was reasonable value.

And the staff seem to recognise about the cross contamination so to give you confidence when eating out
Thankyou

I booked the table on the morning of our visit and was a little concerned that the staff might not have picked the booking up but I need not have worried they were waiting for us. The menu had plenty of choice and my mum in law loved the fact there was a menu especially for pensioners which she selected her meal choices from. The food was all very tasty and the service efficient and friendly. The premises are comfortable and spacious. We will definite making a return visit.

Nice place with good service and food.
One complaint was we chose this place after looking at the online menu and deciding on a couple of nice options.
When we arrived the menu had been changed, apparently months ago!, but not changed online. The 2 options we had chosen weren't on the new menu and there was nothing that appealed as much.
Having said that what we went for was acceptable.

Lovely pub friendly staff. I opted for sunday lunch. It was ok nothing special. Never had a sunday lunch without carrotts before and i thought mangetout and red cabbage was a little strange choice. Having said that i would go again but choose something else

Cheese souffle starter was like a flat piece
of rubber - and contained a spent matchstick! - complaint to waitress illicited neither apology or reduction in bill. Salmon mains were tasteless. Top prices for poor fayre.

We were a group of five friends having tea. The bar area was very noisy but there was a football match on. The restaurant was much quieter which was good. The food was nice, although I thought it was quite expensive for what it was. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice pub, nice people, rubbish roast! The other food looked nice, but the Sunday roast was very school dinner style - microwaved meat, deep fried potatoes, watery gravy.

The food was lovely and service very good , everyone was extremely friendly. The only disappointment was the whiskey menu being out of date so when my partner saw his favourite whiskey and chose it we were told it’s not a whiskey they stock

Yes I would recommend but I would make sure that they knew to order vegetables with their main meal otherwise they would be very disappointed at the value for money of the meal. The food was lovely but when 3 out of the party of 6 don’t get vegetables and are not told they need to order vegetables at the time of ordering then it’s an expensive meal. Disappointing to say the least.
